Some people just lack the ability to put up a constructive debate and be open minded

God I hate dealing with the ex-wife Nagging me again about a Court hearing and she doesn't have Court documents, claiming I have them, which I do not. But being the peace-keeper (yeah I know, funny ain't it) I'm running copies off to her today. She must have them by tomorrow. But I can't send them to her PO box. I can't give them to her personally, no it must be a third party. She won't give me an address. Little Miss Difficult playing her games again. "Can I serve the papers to Alan", the so-called mate who ran off with her ... umm no, unless he wants a punch in the face! So I guess I'll have Tracy serve the papers to her at a pre-arranged place Tracy would love that! "No", the ex doesn't want to see anyone on my side of things. Then I guess you don't get the papers then biatch! After splitting 18 months ago, freedom is just around the corner Thought I'd share that.

I'll happily donate my car for the cause, if you finance the experiment ... of course, I get to keep the Splitfires after.

Unfortunately, thats what stats are Pete: a false interpretation of raw data, presented in a manner to support an argument. I've done a year of Statistical Analysis at Uni and its interesting how stats really mean nothing. More of a summary in one direction of a debate if you wish. Any conclusion can be drawn from them. Yet people like Rhys will grab onto any numbers which appear in their favour of an argument. So you're right Pete, when you look at the 'target market' (the 30-40 bracket) which is far greater in size than (say) 20-29, per capita it has a far lower death rate. So ... if we look at the brackets that address young drivers, per capita they are at a far higher risk of crashes and deaths than any other category due to inexperience and lack of skill. Sure, there are some young drivers you've had advanced training or race skills and their learning curve is huge, but those numbers are small and have little bearing on the young driver category as a whole. The authorities can't filter out those drivers and allow them special privlages, so the whole category is grouped and new laws imposed upon them all. The government has the stats that young drivers (per capita) are a high risk category and given the current trend (recent p-plater high speed crashes) the new law will be cast far and wide ... and I think its a good, responsible idea. If young drivers cannot be responsible behind the wheel, the government will do it for you. And this argument about 'doesn't matter if they're in a POS corolla, they'll still kill themselves' is bullshit and you know it. Sure they could die, if they tried hard enough. A turboed car is too easy to lose in the wet, compared to mum's Excel. Who are you guys kidding? A high powered car is too easy to get into trouble, show off to ya mates, kill innocent people. That is the current trend at the moment. No matter how dramatic the media displays this, beneath the surface of the article, its a growing trend. An under powered car means you'd take longer to get speed up ... it just won't be as easy as an R33 or WRX. Especially for unskilled and inexperienced young drivers. Besides, dragging off traffic in mum's Fiesta, you'd look like a total knob anyway I see it all the time at the track, drivers who are not aware of how fast they are actually going! They lack the judgment of identifying speed without looking at the speedo. This is something you learn with experience and skill building ... not from owning a turbo car.

We'll rip the engine down and then you'll know the full extent and what you'll be saving up for Damo. I figured it was 'out of character' when the engine was turned over and #6 piston wasn't moving Colour of the spark plugs were all good and consistent. #6 was wet from fuel. Even pressure in all cylinders except for #6. I'm praying the rod broke clean and didn't touch the bore (unlikely, but one can hope). Turning the engine over makes no noises or obstructions to seize the crank. Who knows, we might be lucky But we'll know more on the weekend. Stock up on beer and bullshit Damo, we might be sharing it around.
-
We'll know the full story when we get the head off this weekend, then drop the sump. Worse case scenario, the broken rod has damaged the bore and maybe some. But we see no holes punched thru the block thats for sure. Anyone know of a seized RB25 engine lying around anywhere to donate a rod and maybe a piston? The ripper, was the oil drain hose from the turbo was some heater hose bent to the sump, which resulted in a 'crimped' hose limiting/stopping oil draining back into the sump. God there are some dodgy mechanics out there.

I love people who blame the roads. Sure our roads are on the shit side, but if you take them at the speed they are signposted at, you wouldn't be losing control let alone getting killed on them. So many people won't address behaviour, speed, roadworthiness of car, bald tyres, but they're happy to blame roads. We do need defensive courses, but its not the responsibility of the government or any authorities. In any case, realistically there is no big enough market for it. Everyone says they want one, but you know you'll never get around to doing it when "the hills are free". Go too fast, you're increasing the risk of losing control. Simple. Don't have the skills to react safely, then slow down.

Is the conversion engineered and/or Regency approved? ?

What irritates me more Pete, is that I use to ride alot on my mountain bike in groups for exercise/trekking about. There's no way I'd put myself directly in front of a car! Second in line are those 50cc scooter riders who lane split and position themselves directly in front of traffic also. They do not have the acceleration to be doing that. Then go another step further ... bad motorcyclists. I get peeved when a biker does the stupidest thing in traffic, putting his life at risk ... and giving bikers a bad name (like we don't have that already). I've given some of them a mouthful. Usual reply I get is "oh thats right, cage driver disrespecting the guy ont he bike" ... until I point out to them that I ride too, and much longer than they have and even I think they're a dickhead waiting for a fatal accident.

Puke away! I really can't stand the bastards. Its a toss up between P-plate commonwhore drivers and cab drivers. We've been riding in groups down Anzac Highway and had cabs hustle thru us. Almost ran down a mate and my brother in the process. He actually thought it was okay to do that Thats just one example. Had a cab so close up my arse one night he actually nudged my bike. Then started abusing me ... I was in the left lane and about 5kph over the speed limit at the time. Anytime after midnight on any night, they're lunatics. They're dangerous at the best of times. Cab drivers truly believe they own the road. Every time I see one broke down, I'll yell out "sucked in f**ker!". I really don't care.

What's half of 28? ...

Another one from the archives ...

There's no way in hell I'll fund those farking lunatics. They can't speak english and they never know where they're going anyway. Out of 4 car accidents I've had in my life, all 4 involved impatient cab drivers speeding or running red lights. I've even had mates knocked off their bikes from hoon cab drivers. I hate em. They're scum. Road hogs, law breakers, road ragers and hoons.
