  1. When you hear the same argument coming back time and time again, you lose a little interest in serving sugar with the same old bad news. That was a quick one para view of the issue. As detailed many posts back, did you have a read of that? The Government has more important areas to spend money on. However, it would be in their interest to look into assisting in re-opening AIR, but its an economic decision that won't be made by our current state government. We work with the State Government on development and planning matters across the state, and altho I'm a car enthusiast myself, even I can't justify any Government spending on AIR when its not an economical benefit to the state. It may be a policing benefit (getting the hoons off the road), but you don't seriously think hoons will stop racing on the street? Besides, there is more revenue involved in catching them on the streets, than financing a drag strip. Mallala was mentioned for those wanting to "go fast" not necessarily in a straight line. Anyone can go fast in a straight line, thats the car doing the talking. Throw in a few corners and then thats the driver doing the talking!
  2. Well the meeting date is set and Nene's committed to it. Kudos to ya Nene! But any particular reason you chose Valentine's Day? [resisting hard not to make jokes!]
  3. ARE YOU SURE thats how it went?
  4. I have a beer in my hand and steak on the grill ... I'm happy
  5. Well I'm in! Form in and fee paid. Talked with Cara tonite about the proposed layout ... looks good. Get in early guys or you get put where you'll fit. I'm leaving my plates on the Stagea. I have nothing to hide.
  6. Nene has some serious real estate. A project I'm working on at the moment, and I found this: "Nene Valley". Not far from "Blackfellows Caves"! Ah ... back to work.
  7. I grew up in those suburbs also. Learnt to break into a run when you hear a car pulling up behind you. You could stand and fight, but most times they had bats etc. That was like nearly 20 years ago! Don't miss that place. Lived away from there for the past 10 years, stuck to school and used my brain and not my fists. Nothing like what it use to be, but bored polished up ferals still steal and fight nonetheless.
  8. Something like: "SAU supports police anti-hoon action"?
  9. As happy as ...
  10. You old buggers really should grow up
  11. Now you're just being silly! BUGE = Broadening Under Graduate Education
  12. That'd be a great subject for alot of members here Before I finished my degree, I tried to enrol in some Real Estate management course. Can't recall the exact name, but thats one option if you have it on your course outline.
  13. Thanks Pete. Was going to drop in to Nisswreck on Saturday if I have no luck with the brake mob on The Parade today. While I'm out there, I'll swing past JMS. Going to lunch shortly to do all that.
  14. Thats why I'm not a believer. He's saying he's so innocent and the cops pretty much assaulted him. Like I said, nice story. There's what he says and what the cops say, the truth is somewhere in the middle.
  15. He's a good story teller. I think he's exaggerating the story a bit.
  16. Don't suppose anyone's got banjo bolts for the front R33 calipers lying around, or know where I can get them (most wreckers prob won't part with them)? Wanna fit the 4 pot calipers and ditch the 2 pot ones.
  17. POLISH SAUSAGE!
  18. You know Tangles, thats the most considerate, broad minded post I've read from you for a while now Off the meds for the moment are we?
  19. What about braided lines on a turbo, even if made by Pirtek?
  20. Martin, the definition of "modify" is too broad and means many things to different people. Fitting seat covers is a modification if you wanna look into it that far. Thats what we need presented at this meeting: what modifications are permitted before being deemed defectable? Even modifying a car to an Engineers Certificate is worth nothing nowdays. I build all my projects with the assistance of an engineer. But an Engineers Certificate didn't stop two motorcycle cops defecting my car years ago. Because they were losing the battle, they did me for tyres (3 week old, excellent tread tryes!) and sent me to Regency! I bypassed this, went to a cop shop and they lifted the defect without fee. Confirming it was an unfair defect. Truth is Martin, try to do the right thing and you still get screwed over. So we want this meeting to discuss why there are so many irregularities with defects. Do you recall my 200B wagon with the SR20DE squeezed in and SC14 supercharger force feeding it? That was engineered. Passed the inpsection and road registered ... but I still had no faith in all that protecting me from defects. It was a good thing it looked totally stock on the outside. All my projects once complete were never altered further in anyway with the exception of tyres and oil change.
  21. Less Chicago ... more Underbelly
  22. I don't think the general public would be in any danger (thanks for scaring them all Pete ), rather they'd run down the line of who they deal with. A bit like Underbelly. It'll prob spill out into the public more (like Gouger St) and innocents will witness bad things, but not sure there's a big risk of the public being casualties. I know the clubs were not happy about the attention Gouger St got, so I'm sure they'd try to avoid that. Dunno. Who knows. Sit back and watch, as said. Hell, if that happened, it'd give Rann more power. I'm sure they wouldn't want that.
  23. Sometimes when the battle looks unpromising for a win, you still need to try. You never know. I'm sure that was the thinking of a particular person you knew who passed away recently, who was responsible why Sled can be ridden on the road. I've always set out to prove people wrong when "it can't be done". I've never had failures, only successes in how not to do things BTW Pete, having a small gathering for a pool party maybe not this weekend but next. Kids are welcome. I'll give you more info if you're interested.
  24. Yeah, me too. $5 says Rann sits idle for a while hoping the Freedom campaign will fade into the background.
  25. Question: Braided lines are considered defectable by the police right? So what happens if you get Pirtek to do the lines. I'm sure their standards exceed AS and therefore meet ADRs if used on motor vehicles?
