However, it would be in their interest to look into assisting in re-opening AIR, but its an economic decision that won't be made by our current state government.
We work with the State Government on development and planning matters across the state, and altho I'm a car enthusiast myself, even I can't justify any Government spending on AIR when its not an economical benefit to the state. It may be a policing benefit (getting the hoons off the road), but you don't seriously think hoons will stop racing on the street? Besides, there is more revenue involved in catching them on the streets, than financing a drag strip.
Mallala was mentioned for those wanting to "go fast" not necessarily in a straight line. Anyone can go fast in a straight line, thats the car doing the talking. Throw in a few corners and then thats the driver doing the talking!
