  1. Yeah, I had the Crown in mind. I was thinking of booking ... but being a Sunday arvo ... plus they have quite adequate seating numbers!
  2. Bob has never spent anything at AIR. That place has been deteriorating for over 10 years! Signs half dangling over the track etc!
  3. FMIC behind front bar. 450mm wide core radiator (100mm thick). Option 1: Mount it as standard behind bar; from the furthest length/end 180 degree 2.5" bend then straight pipe reduced down to 2.25"; pipe (and bends) to existing pipework from (removed) smic; from the shortest length/end 2.5" pipe reduced to 2.25" to existing pipework from (removed) smic. Option 2: Mount it upside down (no need for 180 bend); from the furthest length/end 90 degree 2.5" bend down reduce to 2.25"; 2.25" pipe to 90 degree bend to run under fmic to existing pipework from (removed) smic; from the shortest length/end 90 degree 2.5" bend reduce to 2.25"; to a 90 degree 2.25" bend to existing pipework from (remvoed) smic. Hopefully I'll have time tonight or tomorrow night to dummy up the intercooler and decide on an option. Then I'll purchase the bends needed.
  4. Yeah, but no one here is going to be holding their breath just yet.
  5. Congratulations on your recent purchase and may you enjoy the Stag as much as Brycey did. Welcome to SAU!
  6. Yeah, friend of mine got one of those fast track days as a gift (birthday), but they kept canceling. He got sick of it and thought "f**k it", told them to go stick it.
  7. Ouch! Got quoted $500-$600. Think I'll buy the bends and do it myself. Edit: out of curiousity, I rang one place back and said the car was a VL turbo, and the intercooler piping quote dropped $200
  8. Damn Sled! You single???
  9. Well when you've been riding 19 years like myself, you develop your "dickhead" radar to a fine tune. True, you can't pick 'em all, but why stop doing what you love, because there are ill-skilled fools out there. Yes, Jarrad is one of those mates entering the cruiser market He's got the goatee and bald head, so he'd fit right in. I still love sportsbikes myself, but my taste in bikes has expanded in recent years.
  10. ^^^ Thats the million dollar question!
  11. Granted. I'll PM y'all with another meeting point about 5 minutes outside the CBD. Start time still stands at 9.30am, depart about 10.00am.
  12. I think life is all about learning to eat your own words! :laugh I'll see where I'm at in 10 years, when the time comes!
  13. I've always loved the springer front end ... but not with too much rake. My riding mates are one-by-one taking up the "cruiser" challenge, and I may just join them one day. Then I'll be in the shits ... wouldn't be able to decide what I want. Although a Nighttrain with a springer conversion would be nice
  14. True. Different bikes, for different people, for different budgets. I personally wouldn't own a Harley (I'll prob eat my words later), but I do like to look at them. And I like the dedication some people put into their rides (Sled falls into this category), but I hate the "gold card" Harley owners! Thats what puts me off, is the attitude of some riders ... as well as sportsbike riders too (granted), but I am slowly moving away from the sportsbike scene. Never dismiss a machine simply by looking at it. You gotta taste the exotic/luxury fruits manufacturers have to offer.
  15. She'll be okay with me riding with her. I'll teach her roadcraft and how to take care "out there". The SR50 is larger in bodyshape than your typical Bowell, Yammy or chinese scooters, so she can dominate her lane a bit better. Taking her out for a ride tonight on it after work. I've always liked the RSVR also ... and even the Factory Mille. Loved the look of the Tuono, until they stuck on that foul diamond shaped headlight ... oh, and the gold frame! Must be popular in Europe I guess.
  16. Sure did. Didn't know it at the time, but it was a bonus when I read about it. Had to check to see how "Italian" they really were. There as Italian as their flag. Even the carbon fibre parts I fitted were made in Italy! The only non-Italian item on the bike is the Ohlins rear shock. I've been drooling over these bikes for years, then it got to be too much so I bought one. I was after an F4 1000, but I already had a supersport bike, and a GSXR race bike, so I wanted a naked ... always had a crush on the naked Italian, as well as the F4 1000. And I've enjoyed the Brutale since purchase: riding it, or just plain staring at it. I find most people who bag the italian machines have never truly tasted them. They find it easier to discredit it, than to buy one. I've tasted many Italian machines (and British) and they really are brilliant! Ha, even my pitbike was custom built with Italian suspension! ... and "no" I'm not the least bit Italian! How could you not love this:
  17. So ... you're 41. You've obviously owned all of the above vehicles to give such an accurate assessment ... or is it just your opinion Well, I'll keep my unreliable and not-well engineered Italian toys to myself and won't dare put anyone at risk by sharing
  18. You'll only hear good things about them ... because we're banned from saying anything negative
  19. They did. Thats why you'll read F4 on the casing. F = Ferrari 4 = number of cylinders Read about it here: http://www.ridermagazine.com/output.cfm?id=1190773
  20. I don't prefer Harleys! Each to their own, but I prefer technology that doesn't date back to 1903. Clearly you've never watched (or raced) an Aprilia RS250 What do you think Rossi and Casey started off winning on? Aprilias are ultra reliable and championship winning machines! ... and my MV Agusta Brutale is pure sex! These bikes are def produced in Italy. I've been to Europe and I've been to their factory! You can't get anymore Italian than an MV Agusta (engine was designed and built by Ferrari). You clearly don't know your bikes ... perhaps stick with Skylines Some other names for you, which you might have heard of: Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati (for the cars) and Ducati, Laverda, Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta (for the bikes) all with history and records of reliability and style.
  21. This is my Stag ... But I reckon it looks more like this ...
  22. Ha. I had a broken shoulder and a long drive ahead of me. I wa sin pain and took some morphine-in-a-pill, so I thought it best to let her drive. When she asked, I was so out of it I figured "sure why not"! She didn't end up killing us
  23. Its the luck of the draw really. The ex-wife couldn't even stand me talking about cars/bikes. And she whinged about my driving at every opportunity. The marriage was doomed really Met my GF after a few failed attempts long after my separation, and I wish I'd met her way sooner ... like before I met my bitch of a wife! We met without the intention of hooking up; she wanted a ride and I offered her a seat on my bike. Things went from there. We literally just "clicked" with each other and we haven't looked back. Even when I crashed the MV and broke my shoulder in 3 places (collarbone and shoulderblade) in a bad smash, she witnessed it all from the car behind me, and helped at the scene (she's a nurse). Not once did she talk to me about giving up riding. And she was at my side most of the time throughout my stay in hospital. She just couldn't wait to get on a bike again just like me! Can God make more women like her please? We even went away with friends on dirt bikes and I taught her how to ride whilst my shoulder was healing. She's very keen. And I think she enjoys driving he Stag more than I do! Oh, and 'yes' driving back from Sydney, we did hit about 185-190 before the cut-off. I even let her do it too.
