  1. Might have 4 more Stags coming along Grim ... if he gets his 260 back in time Nene can drive the silver Stag Donna is getting her arm twisted to bring out her Stag and my silver Stag may be driven by a mate wanting to buy it
  2. Yeah thats what I told Adrian also this morning at his place. Thats why I like the thermostats with the air lock valve on it ... or I usually drill a tiny, tiny hole in it myself. I think thats where we got caught out. Swapping the turbos over, I knew we'd lose coolant, but didn't quite have the opportunity (given the shit weather - yes, we were outside) to measure the loss. We're certain it was lack of coolant, not loss of coolant.
  3. Hi Scott, welcome to SAU ... leave your credit car at the door See you on c ruise sometime ... just look for the lonely Stag
  4. Damn! I'm thinking my place is cursed! Both you and Adrian left my place and have car problems ... although we've nailed Adrian's problem down to possible lack of coolant, not loss of coolant.
  5. I'm upgrading my turbo and getting Justin at Everlast to plumb up my fmic next weekend. Sometime after that I''l be installing the SAFC2, so I might nudge Tilbrooks for the job too Kell ... say about a fortnight from yesterday! Oh, hang on, that the Stag cruise day (1 June), so I might get myself in during the week thereafter.
  6. Meh. My ex-wife left me, one of the reasons being my "toys" Now I have the freedom to do what I want. I've now found a GF who is into bikes and cars as much as I am. She's always nagging me to go riding or driving! You just gotta pick 'em right and you can mod to your heart's content.
  7. Well ... (scratches head) ... can't see where the coolant might be leaking. As discussed, it prob was we didn't top up the rad enough. But keep an eye on it on you next trip. Check under the car for drips with the engine running, then check the level in the rad again after an hour of cooling down. You have my number. Let me know if it persists.
  8. Nah, its just the peroxide in her hair thats damaging the brain.
  9. No worries! I read in a nother thread you have a coolant leak? I'll ask you not to drive the car until you can confirm where the leak is coming from, or (most importantly) where the coolant is going too. Call me mid morning if you can't confirm where the leak is coming from. I'd rather not see your car break down. Ruby
  10. Sounds like you have a coolant leak. I wouldn't drive the car until you've had the lines checked for leaking. It may be leaking from the coolant feed line to the turbo we did the temp work to. Don't drive the car tomorrow until you can confirm where the coolant is going. Call me tomorrow mid morning if needs. I'd rather not see your car break down. Ruby
  11. I see Adrian and Min on here! You guys better get off the web and be on your way to my place Don't leave me waiting Good cruise, considering the weather!
  12. Hmm, very tempted to get out there in the Stag and see what she can do. I know Mallala like the back of my hand, having done 100s track days and raced there on my RS250 and GSXR. Curious to know how much of my knowledge of the track on bikes would go in a car! Might try real hard to get out there.
  13. Damn! ... someone's got photographic evidence on me!
  14. Yes ... "ice cream" I'm attending one of these cruises each week ... so you're bound to run into me (no pun intended) sooner or later. Just look for the older lonely guy offering candy to strangers!
  15. Yeah, the name "squid" has expanded somewhat. Its basically what you've quoted, but also taking on board the attitude of the rider and how much useless bling they fit to their bike, the fact they wear no protective gear (yet brag about dragging their knee in turns, and other things like their challenging riding style (wanting to race anything and everything). We also use another term "chicken strips". Chicken strips is the obvious unused tread on the tyre showing how far the bike gets leaned over. This is also emphasised by the amount of "balling up" (where the tyre is scrubbed in hard from heat from hard riding) around the full width of the tyre. A squid usually has 1-1.5inch chicken strips: meaning they hardly lean their bike over for fear of ruining the bling paint job ... pussies! All my tyres have no chicken strips and are quite coarse from abusive lean angles and hard riding.
  16. Hmm, there's that also But I know the quality of my toys and how hard I can push them
  17. Too cold standing around at Glenelg. I bailed out anyway, GF sent SMS wanting ice cream Great to see (now becoming) familiar faces again. Was going to get a sticker tonight, but plum forgot
  18. Then we prob go a bad batch. All 3 ASUS laptops have failed. Sorry, but 3 strikes mean we don't think much of them.
  19. Thats the one!
  20. Unfortunately, I see it all the time. Squids riding bikes they can't control. Some are just plain lucky and haven't killed themselves yet. But most of the time, I've had my weekend rides tainted by idiots, sitting on the side of the road waiting for an ambulance while trying to keep the rider alive, or keep his leg or other limbs intact. Its these fools that make the real bikers look like organ donors. I see them come and go ... I really don't want to give a shit anymore ... but you never get used to it. I see the same idiots out on track too. You try to give them helpful advice and they just end up breaking a perfectly good bike. The racers are at the track for your benefit too. Don't be afraid to ask them, and try not to be a hero! Take everything we have to say on board and take it easy with your speed, breaking markers, lines, body position and throttle control out of turns!
  21. Yeah I don't use the rear on the road at all. I only use the rear on the track. Even then I can't pinpoint when I do it, I just do it according to how the bike feels out the turn. Anyone who has a bike, should do track days at least and learn the limits of the bike and themselves. Its great for relationship building. I only know so much about what my bike is doing thanks to pushing it hard 100% on the track. If you're going to f**k up, its safe to f**k up there.
  22. Are we still going ahead with the turbo swap tomorrow? Will you be dropping the car off in the morning? PM me back, or see me tonight if you're on the cruise again, for my address. Ruby
  23. Well, after a long wait (4 weeks) on answers from Revenue SA and getting the double dose of stamp duty removed from my bill ... I've got my SA plates for the black Stag. RRS-250 Woohoo! I'll be out tonight to parade the new tags!
  24. Friend of mine works for Forensics in the SAP. I've been told there was no direct bikie links to this matter. It was barely that at all ... one guy knows someone in the Hells Angels, suddenly he's representing them? f**k, I know numerous bikies myself, what does that make me? The media really don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.
  25. Dumbass!
