Well, I got to check out the 33 up on a hoist today and its very respectable underneath. Got the Stagea booked into MV Automatics to have the solenoids replaced ... $630 Also lined up a GTR box for the Stagea for the manual conversion later this year. Time to shop for the other bits

Life Story entry #322 Drew from AAA fitted a resonator to the 33 today. Sounds much better. The car is now totally cop-friendly. While it was up on the hoist, took a peak under the body. The car is clean as. No leaks except for some weeping at the steering rack for the power steering hoses. A quick clean and torquing and I'll check it out again in 5,000kms. Otherwise, no leaks at all, and everything in top condition. All CV boots are top nick. Waiting ... Best bet dude is to get legal advice.

Jeezus! I'll do it myself then. So where do I go looking for a 3rd gear for a GTR box? Wreckers? Nissan Aust? Will a standard 32/33/34 2wd box have the same 3rd gear?

My understanding is its a supplement. So its an addition to your oil. An "octane booster" for your oil if you wish.

Anyone know the rough costs of having a worn gear changed in a manual gearbox? I haven't done a gearbox in years ... and couldn't be bothered doing it myself anyway
