Oil Catch Can (oil/air Separator) For Rb30dett In R32 Gtr

The question on my mind is it suitable for E85. I have to run the PCV- you should see how much condensation there is on cold start from E85 in the breathers. -
Oil Catch Can (oil/air Separator) For Rb30dett In R32 Gtr
BoostdR replied to dorifticon's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I completed the Collinsgrove Hill climb on the weekend with the twin catch can setup. The car went well, came second overall from 52...however I still have an oil problem. On my third run (read-lots of rpm)I managed to fill the primary can, and suck oil into the PCV...yes lots of smoke. I blocked the PCV for the next run and it was ok. The setup is: Passenger rocker cover joined to Drivers side rocker cover into the PCV and to the primary catch can, Primary catch can has a return to the dipstick (no check valve atm) the primary can outlet goes to the secondary can then from there into the rear turbo inlet. The covers are fitted with mines tripple flow baffles. Potential Problems: Baffle plates are not sealed anymore since going through the hot tank. Sump is over filled (filled to the full mark on the RB30 Dipstick) Less than 1.5mm restrictor required in the head Too much oil pressure(7.7kg idle cold, 4kg warm, 7.5kg above 3000rpm warm) Too much oil flow Too thin oil (Nulon 10w40) Not enough head drainage Not enough baffle plate drainage (once oil gets into stage 3 of the plate) What I will try (in order) Le Mans 20w60 Oil (reduce oil flow), Check baffle plates Install check Valve in return line Install rear head drain. (most likely a small electric oil pump This pump Or this or thisgoing to the Dipstick from both Half moons)<---- you heard it from me first. The pump will be Hobbs switch, G-sensor, or TPS activated Reduce Oil pressure Install smaller restrictor( this is a last option for me...really not keen on reducing the flow to a level that may see issues when driven quietly on the street.) I do get the choo choo. Not interested in the baffle plate. My guess is it fixes the choo but would increase restriction on the front turbo. Best go for a smooth transition Y pipe. -

Oil Catch Can (oil/air Separator) For Rb30dett In R32 Gtr
BoostdR replied to dorifticon's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thats what I though, leak down is less than 2% however. I think my issue was more an excess of oil in the head and-or to much Vac return. I am running the 1st breather from the high side of the drivers cam cover now instead of the low side on the passenger cam cover. Same as the Mines R34- dual catch cans (in series) Still returning to the intake. The PCV return has been blocked off. Will post up a pic later if you like. Closed loop system to keep it 'more legal' -

I have the factory pipe now. We made 824hp with a similar setup and the factory pipe so it is definately not a restriction. Will look at an aftermarket Y pipe in the future. -

Yeah that was me. I have the M105 ARC cooler now. Love ARC. Will go back to the twin turbo pipe replacement when I change the Manifolds. I was unsure if the M75(70mm) was going to cool and flow what I needed so upgraded. -

I forgot with this kit we had to move the power steering resevoir...see pic. Always cheap for a reason. Not sure if the jap kits are the same -
I think your on the money already. The intake pipe sucks in easier when its hot. I fixed this issue temporarily with some coat hanger wire wrapped around the intake pipe to keep it circular. The silicon intake pipe without rings fixed it and flows better. this was on a Rb25 with GT2835.

The Chintech kit is around $320 bucks. I have fitted one. It wasn't perfect and the Ypipe is really thin but the car did make more power everywhere. Yeah, I'm not real impressed with the stainless mani's I also feel I have lost some mid range. Did Mark's test reviel that the STD cast manifolds gave him more mid range over the Tomei's? I feel the 6 Boost would be better again than OEM....just a wee pain to fit up. -

I have finally have my GTR on the road again so have no need for my temp track car. I has been a joy to drive and put many other cars to shame. It has been resprayed in 2 Pac Nissan R34 GTR Bayside blue by Joe at Pro Finish Custom Painting, unfortunately I have scratched the rear bumper, bonnet, drivers guard and front bumper. Bad enough that it should be painted over. There are no dents in the pannels however just scratches. There is much good news about this car though. The motor was rebuild at NISSPEED 6months ago and has the following specs: Full Blue print assembly Balanced (pistons, rods, crank, flywheel and clucth, harmonic) Forged Wiesco pistons (1.5mm over for more capacity) Forged Eagle Rods ARP cap bolts NDC bearings New Lifters Gold 2 pac rocker cover ARP head studs Adjustable cam gears Steam pipe 4-1 exhaust manifold Haltech F9 ECU OEM Ignition (knock feedback and retard) EVO 9 injectors Walbrow 255 intank pump Custom Modified OEM side facing Plenum- This setup with the intercooler provides a very short and direct inlet track for minimal lag and very crisp trootle response. Water to Air Long Flow Intercooler with Alloy radiator and electronic pump also remote alloy water filler R33 GTST Series 2 Turbo (ceramic turbine wheel, Carbon composite Compressor-very responsive) Heavy Duty Organic Clucth (holds well and is kinder on the gearbox) Gearbox from a 626(pretty sure internals are no stronger but ratio's are better for the track) filled with redline Shock proof oil. ARD Approved Winged racing seats (ADR forms in the glove box) Full 3" Exhaust with Magnaflow resi and Muffler(not to loud, just right) Custom cold air induction and Pod Filter Front Mount Oil cooler Familia rear hatch with dual spoilers Koni damper adj suspension Adj camber kit Polished Performance 5 Spoke rims(needs 4 new tyres) Guages mounted above stereo in dash (boost, oil pressure, oil temp) also led illuminated switches for ACC and ON Pivot Starter button(lights up blue) Slotted and Dimpled gold pasivated front discs Momo millenium style steering wheel (very small) Power steering Running and Tuned on E85(99c at litre from seaton united) also has a tune for BP98 Made 207kw and 420nm (at the wheels) before the plenum was modified. Dyno sheets will come with the car. I would expect her to have even more torque now. Cam gears have yet to be played with. Absolutley Insane and light little machine. Handling in extremmely impressive. Car has been set for slight over steer and 4mm tow out at the front gives nice responsive steering...although on the street bump steer is slightly noticable. She has been sitting for a coulpe of months and I would love to keep her but I need some cash to fund my other track car. It does need some love and tlc, however only cosmetic. The money, engineering and mods have been spent on all the right things to ensure this is a rewarding and reliable package for years to come. It needs the following to bring her up to spec: New set of semi slick tyres (kuhmo KU36) Paint over scratches( Pro Finish Custom painting- Joe) add some rego Neaten up Haltech wiring also recommend a roll cage Collinsgrove Hill Climb, Old Motor Completed the hillcimb as fast as an EVO 10. 3#sec zone. can't remember the exact time 323 At Mallala Spents well over $10,000 asking around $5,000 Contact me on 0413023669 or SMS that you have sent a PM Regards, Matt Will post up some pics when I get home.
