  1. I can tell you as I have just had a pair cam doctored. The Gibson Motorsport Cams(as used in bathurst) run 25 degrees more duration on the exhaust and .25 more lift. Seems they were all over this issue
  2. I have one installed on my 4 door 33 Rb26dett, was also a pain in the butt. I have the first ever batch. The bov pipe was a waste of time, I moved the power steering tank to the front of the motor with having to change anything, the rest was just trial and error. I contacted performance wise and let him know of the issue's and what he needs to do to make this kit better. From what I can see he has done a few things but has a way to go. I also fitted R34 AFM's and have made a nice power improvement. So would I do it again?...actually, yes. For the money and the knowledge of what needs changing it would be a reasonably simply affair.
  3. With much sadness the 4 Door will be put up for sale to make way for another GTR. This car was originally built by Martin Donnon at Willall Racing as part of "Project 11's" featured in 11 issue's of zoom magazine. Funly enough they never acheived a 11 second quarter. I did however =) 11.8 at WSID. The car setup works extremmely well. It runs a rare 5 speed Auto Nissan trans which also has a lockup high stall which gives 6 ratios! As you can imaging this makes the car very responsive at any rpm and also give suprisingly good fuel economy. During the original Build the transmission was fitted with a modified value body and kevlar clutch discs by Mike at MV automatics here in Adelaide. It was a very nice setup ,but now is better still. I've had the trans fitted with high performance valves and new kevlar discs during an overhaul earlier in the year so the shifts are now instant. The 3500rpm stall ensures lag free launches and multiples the torque to the extent you can pretty much fry the tyres at will at most speeds. When cruising however the lockup kicks in and she cruises just like the factory wanted...it really is an absolute pleasure to drive. The motor was stock and was rebuilt with new bearings, rings, 33 crank and turbo's. Standard bore 86mm CP forged pistons have been fitted to ensure a very reliable package. The car is also fitted with a full GTR rear cradle, (diff, etc), GTR front support for the R33 GTR front bumper and r32 GTR brakes all round. Other upgrades are as follows: R33 GTR front seats Triple gauge dash cluster (white nissan) Series 2 tail lights and center garnish Full hard pipe kit (turbo inlets, turbo outlets, smooth transition twin turbo merge pipe) Apexi filters R34 AFM's x2 Apexi PFC Apexi N1 Dual and std exhaust boost set at a lazy 14psi max Momo Evo Millenium style steering wheel HSD damper and height adjustable coilovers 18" ROH 3 piece Strada wheels x4 + R34 std wheels x4 I haven't put the car on the dyno since I got it, however the tune has been adjusted each time the engine has been modified. I have many different tunes and data log files to go with the car. The current summer tune was comlpeted in the last month, runs 12.6:1 AFR and no knock what so ever. The car has had most of the performance upgrades completed after my run at WSID and is now considerably faster. I won't give you a estimate of power, but I'm sure you can work it out from the time it has run The car is currenlty registered and cleared through Regency for the engine change(papers included) so no need to worry about getting a canary. The car will be ready for sale in the next few weeks. I originally purchased this car at a steel for $15,000 a year ago. After the additional mods and adding up how much I could part the car out for: I will be looking for $15,000. Contact: Matt 0413023669 or Troy 0413307661 ps. the car will be at Mallala on Nov 20.

  5. To confirm the T04B I'm referring to is the Vtrim
  6. I would be going a 47-48mm turbine outlet...with the T04B Compressor, however there may be a newer compressor wheel avail thats more surge resistant. Gill Bill at Adelaide Turbo Services a call. He helped me no end when I originally made this turbo.
  7. oh by the way, the cams where done at an advertised duration of .020"
  8. What part number did you opt for? any advantage of a dual over a single?
  9. My 2 Fav
  10. Oh and by the way, I'm using some Gibson Motorsport cams( same as the Winfield GTR). Just had them cam doctored. At advertised duration Inlet 256 @ 9.5mm lift Exhaust 278 @ 9.75 mm lift ...don't tell to many people
  11. Where can i get a set of valve springs for $300?
  12. oh bugger, yeah this would be much better....drop straight in
  13. You wouldn't be interested in a swap for an R33 5speed with lockup...giving 6 ratio's(all GTST's are 4 speed) Auto with High stall? The 5 speed gives power band everywere unlike the 4 speed. Fuel econ is also improved. Has been build by MV Automatics, Kevlar clutches, Modified Valve body and Larger Valves. Its an absolute awesome setup, chirps every gear, changes instantly and will change down or up at any rpm if used in manual mode, boost able to be made at the line for dragging. Was sitting behind an Rb26 and has been recently overhauled($4500 spent to date, very fresh, have receipts for latest work). Check Project 11's in ZOOM for info. I've run an 11.8 with 240rwkw. Includes trans cooler, high stall convertor, all lines, wiring, tailshaft and ACU...even dash if you would exchange. Mike at MV would be happy to talk to you and confirm. Matt
  14. These are a bit special, the right tip/side is active. It opens up at mid flow just like the ferrari exhausts.
  15. The std boost control solenoid needs to be plumbed into the wastegate line like a normal controller, the factory plumbing will only allow about 2-3psi change no matter what you do. Then changes to the map will make a real change.
  16. Note to self at work www.hioctane.com is a porn site www.hioctaneracing.com.au is the one I want lol
  17. That's ok, my Rb30 doesn't have oil squirters. Are the rings ok if you can get them in without breaking them?
  18. Where is the best place to get Mahle pistons for a Rb26/30? My engine builder wants to use CP but I'm keen to check Mahle out. Matt
  19. be aware that most GTR replacement ebay coolers including the Just Jap ones have a 3" inlet and outlet which don't fit correctly to the metric 80mm std pipes.
  20. Mine works just fine on vista and with the USB. I would look at the LC-1 over the tech edge. Also check out Copilot, The autotune works quite well with a few tweaks. http://www.mr-s.org/copilot/
  21. mmmm GTR gearbox... I could always use another spare. Dashboard $5....now thats a firesale!!
  22. Have you tried the latest verion 3.2.4 ? http://www.mr-s.org/copilot/
  23. Ok so I got Copilot to work with my black datalogit box, haven't tried the auto tune as yet.
  24. Anyone here tried the software on the black box? I'm about to over the next few days.
