From The Age today. Sorry, linking doesn't work?? article Cult declares itself above the law Reko Rennie November 13, 2008 - 9:36AM A cult calling itself the Kingdom of Yahweh has declared itself above Australian law, refusing to pay vehicle registration fees or use licence plates and threatening to stockpile firearms. The group uses its own vehicle registration plates that are booby trapped, according to a report on radio 3AW. A police officer had been injured trying to remove one of the plates. Members of the group have sent affidavits to authorities, including the Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, stating their intentions to not comply with the law. Victoria Police Inspector Ewan McDonald said there was no need for the public to be concerned by the group. "There's no indication that people who have these beliefs are any particular concern to others," he told 3AW. "The only concern of course [is that] all drivers must be licensed and all motor-vehicles must be registered and that's why we police the laws in that respect." Police will hold a press conference later today on the emergence of the group.

Was it a GTR? I guess even if it was, that's pretty unbelievable at 15psi, or that's one hell of a ECU/EBC. Must be one of those dodgy dynos.

+2 for reckless Geelong commie drivers.

I'd love to, but I have no idea how to exchange the battery myself (see pics). How do I actually get to it? Do I need to unscrew the whole metal plate separating the boot from the rest of the car?

Monster Garage R34 Gtr Wide Body Kit
Phatboy replied to Phatboy's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Actually, you might be right. It's hard to tell under that mountain of carbon. I recently heard a rumour that it was a 800HP GT-T rather than a GTR, but I don't know any more than that. There's not much info on it on the net. -
Cool, thanks for everyone's replies. I went to Autobarn and SCA and decided to get one of the Projecta battery chargers, either the 2.3 or 4 amp one. They automatically switch from full charge to maintenance, so I can just leave them on. They said that I should get the lower amp one as the battery will last longer???? If the charger is just at maintenance, does it matter what amp rating it is?

Hi guys, when I don't drive my car for about a week, the battery just dies. I can hear the car trying to crank but it just doesn't start. The battery is quite tiny, and I can't read the label to find out the cranking amps, but I know it is a Pitwork G Series. It's probably because of an aftermarket stereo/subwoofer and alarm/immobiliser. Wanted to find a battery charger that I can connect to the bonnet terminals that will charge and then maintain that charge, for when it just sits in the garage. Any recommendations? Oh and should I disconnect my subwoofer cable when I am charging?? Thanks very much.

The R34 GTR in the avatar pic isn't mine. People keep on PM'ing me asking about it, so I though I would start a little thread that I can just link to, rather than explain every time. It was built by Kenand Lam's group (Monster Garage, in Malaysia). As far as I know it's a one-of-a-kind custom build, not an off-the-shelf kit. In my personal opinion the bodykit is out of this world, and I would love to have it on my car, except that it would be cop bait everywhere, and that it would cost A LOT. Here are some youtube videos of it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=criyyx8MvYs www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptMeWif4Vgs

Hks Gt-ss, Garett Gt2560r, 2860r, R34 N1s

Awesome. Thanks for the replies. Well, here in Victoria the traffic/defect police are tighter than in other states. Top-mount turbos, being so visible, are just asking to be defected. -
Just wanted to make sure, as I want to avoid top-mount turbos like the plague.

Stole the words from my mouth.

That sounds like a better solution. Didn't someone say though that the neons have to be non-flashing to be legal or something? Actually I am not sure on the exact details for where I live, Victoria, as I can't find anything in Vicroads VSI8 regulations re neons. Other states may have different rules.

At one of the GMs a few months back the two guys who set up import monster came and talked. They seemed pretty decent, down-to-earth guys. I have never ordered anything off it, but the system they use , apart from the jap -> engrish translator seems pretty reliable and virtually real-time. As others have said though, only buy if you're loaded or really need the mods. The price of the good stuff from japan is almost twice as much now as it was half a year ago.

No I didn't. Look at the dates or the original thread if you really care... in chronological order Anyway, to get back to the original question, everyone agrees the wing looks shit, as you said.

It's a pain owning 5 cars

I think I already answered this in that thread, where I already said "each to their own".

??? Wide-body kits aren't just cosmetic. Wide body kits mean that you can accomodate tyres with a mcuh wider profile, which means better grip = better track times. Some also add downforce, some have well placed intakes in them to cool the engine bay or brakes. They also usually don't add much weight as they are cf. The car in the pic isn't mine, btw. I never said that people should stop putting neons on their cars, just that I wouldn't. All I said was that I personally consider them to be ricey as they add no performance; they are only cosmetic and broadcast to everyone around (intentionally or unintentially) to "Look at me! Look at me!". I'm sure there might be a few incredibly well modified GTRs which also have neons on them. As I said earlier, each to their own.
-
Sounds great. I'll be there if my car has finished its time at the tuner.

Which do you think a cop would go after, "stupid" - two otherwise identical skylines, one looking completely stock, one riced out with likely defectable mods like neons, wings, dropped, etc, etc. Of course a stock skyline will still draw attention, but this is called minimising your risk of getting pulled over. I'm not here to argue about personal tastes in a cosmetic subforum, but I think you're missing my point. Cars that have good power don't need neons to do it. Neons by themselves are pure rice, by definition. They are 100% cosmetic, and do not add ANY performance - in fact they may have a slight negative effect, due to their weight and drawing power. They fall into the same category as wheel spinners, washer-LEDS, non-functioning bonnet scoops or huge stickers with the shopping list of mod companies, all of which I am sure you love.

Nothing wrong with people's addictions. As I've said, it only becomes a problem when they start spending inordinate amounts of money... on sex or skylines.
-
Thanks. I've PM'ed him. ... ... ... or not.. People, please empty ur inboxes of junk. PMs don't get through.
-
Dude, did I just miss something? Rice = For show, not performance. Neons are the ultimate in rice technology. It doesn't matter if their on a shitbox lancer or a Veyron. As to why you would want to draw MORE attention to your skyline from the cops, that's a separate matter. My philosphy has always been - you've got a fast car, don't let the cops know, enjoy it by yourself. That's why I keep my cars absolutely stock from the outside - even wheels and ride height are stock. But each to their own.
-
Oh god... I really hope you are kidding.
-
If you like the wing, get it installed. At the end of the day, it's your car, you're the one who has to look at the wing everyday. Don't let the opinions of others sway you. You will definitely be unique with that wing. That aside, I think it sucks balls. That company should have been renamed NO-LUCK.
