  1. Don't forget the 4th P. U know what I mean
  2. I can order them online, that's true. Then I guess I have to find a shop that will install and paint the kits for me. Any good shops that anyone can recommend?
  3. Which one is more expensive? My impression is that more people use the EVC??
  4. Thanks, I think I understand now about the three most popular turbo upgrades in this power range for GTRs after reading the posts and looking at the Garrett website, which recommends all three as direct bolt-on replacement turbo upgrades for RB26DETT's standard Garrett GT2556. -5 = Garrett GT-2860R variant = HKS GT-2530 (Rated at 250-360 HP each = 500-720 HP or 373-537 kw) -7 = Garrett GT-2860R variant = R34 N1 Turbo (Rated at 150-310 HP each = 300-620 HP or 224-462 kw) -9 = Garrett GT-2560R variant = HKS GT-SS (Rated at 200-330 HP each = 400-660 HP or 298-492 kw) Does that mean that the -9s are probably a good compromise between power and response??? Please correct me if I am wrong.
  5. Hey guys, I have searched everywhere on SAU and google, as well as rung up a few shops and haven't been able to find a shop in Melb that sells bodykits for R34 GTRs. I have read the post on SAU http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ad-t238480.html which doesn't mention any Victorian shops. I realise it is rare for shops to stock parts as it would be a pretty low-volume product. I am especially looking for the C-West or Top Secret body kits. Thanks very much.
  6. No I have a better solution. Run your skyline on diesel, and see if it's still fun
  7. I did search, but none of the posts really answered any questions about the total cost of this. I did find a lot of useful info, though. Sorry for being n00b at this, but -5 and -7 are variations of Garrett GT2860R right? It sounds like most people are recommending these instead of the GT2560R. What's the difference between these??? Also, would you recommend the HKS EVC as an EBC? Thanks
  8. Ok then, guess whether I have boost controller or not, better to get sometihng like the HKS EVC. Thanks.
  9. Hi guys, just wondering if I can get some advice. I would like my R34 GTR (non-Vspec) to make around 330kw at all four wheels, while still being responsive with minimal turbo lag. Current minor mods are: HKS split dumps HKS front pipe HKS hipower catback exhaust HKS adj cam gears (IN/EX) HKS timing belt with Trust clear cover Apexi Pod Filters Apexi PowerFC ?with boost control (1.2 bar max) - Not sure whether I actually have the boost controller solenoid with the PFC. Nismo twin plate clutch (super coppermix) I am not sure what power it makes at the moment as it hasn't been dyno'd. I was recommended the following mods from one of the tuning shops: Twin Garrett GT2560RS as bolt-on replacements for the turbos Nismo 600cc injectors 2 X Nismo air flow meters Retune cam gears/PowerFC The quote was around $5500 including installation. $6000 if an HKS-EVC was installed as well. Do you think this is a reasonable price, and what kind of power do you think would I be able to produce? Any other mods that you would recommend? I would like to keep daily driveability, good response, but just a bit more power than stock. I don't really want to play with camshafts or internal engine work. Thanks very much.
  10. I have the hand controller but don't want to fiddle around with it. Is there a simple way to find out whether mine has the boost controller option with it? Thanks
  11. Whether it's legal or not, commen sense dictates you don't squeeze 8 people in a car without 8 seats. I am currently involved in the care of one of the passengers. She has multiple injuries, and needs a tube down her throat on a breathing machine in intensive care. Not pretty. Be careful guys.
  12. That's a good point. There is a reason fast cars are usually expensive. You have to have had saved up enough money as well as driving experience over the years to handle one. I went from a 4-door auto family car that handled like a boat to a modified R34 GTR, and it was quite a transition. In retrospect I would have liked to have had something in between for a while.
  13. I guess I don't drive on the same roads as you. My car isn't the one in my profile pic - it looks bone stock from the outside. I need the stockish ride height cuz of my driveway... I know it looks bad on a GTR. I have more ground clearance than some SUVs
  14. Only probably once I have seen a guy nudge his mate and nod in my car's direction. That's about it. To the general public, not much separates GTRs from other skylines. Shit, my mate in his friggin POS FTO gets more looks.
  15. Hey guys, just a quick question on which Motul 300V to use: 300V Chrono 10W40 vs 300V Power 5W40 R34 GTR Melbourne Daily driver + occasional track work Oil temp up to 95. No oil cooler. Thanks.
  16. Hahaha wow, that's a shiteload of f*ck-ups. I'm a trainee surgeon, so if I f**k up, people die. Haven't done it yet, and not planning to. But working 15 hours a day 6 days a week all the time makes you bloody tired.
  17. Thai: Ying Thai (Lygon St) or Ying Thai 2 The pad thai is just friggen awesome. Everything else is good too. Viet: Thien Anh (next to Footscray station) Can't believe no-ones mentioned this one yet. The lemongrass chicken on special fried rice is the best dish I have tried in any restaurant, ever, in my entire life. Probably had it about 30X already. Only like $10. The avocado drink they make is awesome too.
  18. Just wondering, a lot of the time it feels smoother going from 2-4 or even 2-5 than 2-3-4-5 on most suburban 60 kmh roads. Doesn't have the lurch. That shouldn't put any extra strain on the gearbox/transmission right? Thanks
  19. The worst "secure parking" is the Wilson Parking on 180 Russel St. My previous car got broken into as well as my friend's. The best car park in the CBD with proper security camera coverage is the one at Fed [].
  20. Hi guys, just wanted some advice. I came back from an overseas trip after 4 weeks and my battery was stone dead. I charged it overnight and it works now. The settings on my turbo timer and sound system have reset. I am worried that the settings on my Apexi PowerFC have also been reset, in which case the A/F mixture might be wrong? Don't want to detonate. I am not technically minded enough to know what the AFC hand controller is telling me, so it's not even connected. It drives ok, I think. Any help is appreciated.
  21. Lol true. Detonation is bad.
  22. I sincerely hope that isn't LPG in the tank...
  23. Or just a reversible black/white T-Shirt. Actually the funky T-shirts you can get from that novelty gift shop in Melb Central are interesting. Like the one that has the spectrograph that lights up in time to sound.
