The NSW Attorney-General's department says it will not vote on the introduction of an adult classification for video games at this week's SCAG meeting. This Friday was supposed to be another meeting where attorney generals would be actually voting for the introduction of an R18+ rating. Turns out the NSW AG will not be voting on the subject - further delaying any conclusion. Unfortunately it must be a unanimous decision. At the end of the day, it's the aussie retailers who suffer. Majority of gamers are over 18 and I prefer to get the original version of a game - therefore importing is my way. MK for example - would have made a killing here. (no pun intended) Forget the whole "moral" aspect of "Kids shouldn't be allowed to play games with these features" because that's a load of bull. If a kid mimics chopping someone up with a machete, or if some teenager decides to go for a real-life GTA, then they obviously have some in-depth mental problems. Sure, it's the same argument as always - but after completing a number of petitions and forms, it has just gotten to the point where it's become ridiculous.

Good question. The article I have linked was published just last week and I've only seen one cop doing it so far.

You're all wrong!!! I found out about it via stone tablet scribed back in Ancient Egypt... FAAAARK.

Cops Put the Brakes on Speed Camera Revenue "The Victorian Police are waging war against the state government – and it’s gotten dirty. Reports have surfaced that the cops have started kicking the Government where it hurts: in the cameras. Apparently some members of the Victorian Police have taken to stopping ‘upstream’ of privately operated traffic camera vehicles or covert fixed cams, with their emergency lights activated. This has the effect of slowing down the passing traffic, greatly reducing the number of drivers who get pinged. The cops are also going slow on fundamental paperwork and legal processes." Just shows that marked police vehicles is what the government needs in order to keep motorists adhering to the speed limit. Prevention, it seems, is more effective than Punishment. Who would have thought??

This post should be in the "For Sale - Other Items" section... A place where everyone else sell their games and hardware. For Sale (Other Items) This section is for DISCUSSION. -
Technology + chicks = Divide by Zero... Education and a bit of common sense goes a long way when it comes to downloading. Most people don't even pay attention to obvious factors such as size and file-extension. Eg. A song in .exe format and only 300kb in size. Funniest thing is how the people who used to make fun of us "PC geeks" , are now the ones paying for it; especially since the PC is so dominant in today's society.

New Pistons? Or Second Hand Bottom End?
EeLeYe replied to Gareth-WilliamsR33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Does your car sound like a WRX? If so, then yes, you are running on 5 cyl. Otherwise it seems as though the mechanic may have misdiagnosed the problem; a problem that you never noticed beforehand - especially if you mentioned the car runs beautifully. The small bursts of air have been associated with piston ring failure but as I mentioned above, the dead giveaway is the WRX sound (going from my experiences). I would take it to another mechanic (don't say anything about piston rings) or a friend who knows engines. -
Has anyone ever thought that it's maybe the antivirus companies that create many (not all) of the viruses? I'm with Madaz on this. If you know what NOT to click and which programs to execute, then you won't find a problem. I was having more problems whilst using antivirus than not. That being said, I don't leave my PC on 24/7 to constantly run torrents. It only gets turned on when it's being used.

Well, fingers crossed that if they do release another dn game, they consider ALL of the lessons learnt from dnf. I'd be willing to give them a go.

Hackers release web manifesto "Hackers who have hit the websites of the CIA, US Senate and Sony during a month-long rampage claim to have targeted Britain's Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and an FBI partner organisation, hours before releasing a web manifesto calling for "war" on governments that control the internet." "Lulz has taken credit for hacking into the PlayStation Network of Sony Corp, where more than 100 million user accounts were compromised, and defacing the PBS television network website after it aired a documentary seen as critical of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange" The guys are F|_|CKING HARDCORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sega copped it too

I feel your pain... even more so when the host loses connection.

Gameplay overhaul patch I don't know what to say about this but gearbox head honcho has considered the bad reviews and everyone's complaints about dnf; And has confirmed that the team is working on a major overhaul patch. Sounds kinda stupid after reading the article. Also, I don't know what to expect anymore.

Hardcore tdm is more fun but also has more mutha fkn campers !!!!!!!

For some reason, it shows a new line if I try and edit the post but then it's displayed as BR when I actually save the changes.

Not sure about the i5 but all of this quadcore+ processor stuff is a bit useless atm with minimal programs making use of all of them. Remember when the dualcore was released?? Software and games took forever before starting to take advantage of the extra core.

That being said, I know most programs are capable of utilizing two cores so try buying a processor that has the turbocache feature; increasing frequency when only two of the four+ cores are being used.

And, for the record, Ivy Bridge is set for release March 2012. But the LGA-1366 successor, LGA-2011, is set for release later this year. I'm waiting for Ivy Bridge - by then it'll have full USB3.0 functionality (not semi like most motherboards on the market today) and PCIe 3.0.

EDIT - Only downfall would be video cards making use of the PCIe 3.0 capabilities - since theyre struggling to reach the limits of PCIe 2.0... but we'll see by this time next year anyway.

I ticked the second option, "Accept R18+ but disagree with the proposed guidelines" My added comment was as follows. "Violence is permitted except where it offends against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by "reasonable adults" to the extent that it should not be classified." The use of "reasonable" is too broad a word - some people may consider a scenario or action as acceptable whilst others may not; comparing this to their own lifestyle and experiences. I, as an adult, will accept any forms of videogame violence due to the fact that it is, a video game. An adult is defined as someone who takes responsibility for their own actions meaning that any sane person will NEVER immitate the immoral and indecent actions performed in a video-game. If they do, then they are incapable as adults and should seek professional help. I am happy to discuss this further, if required. Cheers, Elias

Lol ^^^ We used this method to share cod map packs. Works nicely.

I've still only played it for an hour. Haven't had much more of a chance. From what I've heard and read, the biggest annoyance is the ability to carry only two weapons; especially since bosses require quite the firepower.

"When it comes time to see Duke's "Babes" attempt to get sexy and pose seductively for you, the whole affair becomes rather nightmarish. The only people who could get off to this game are the criminally insane."

Updating your hdd is very simple. Sony thought ahead and has an option to copy all of your data to a portable drive and then copy it back to the new drive. Check out YouTube. There are heaps of videos explaining how to change it over. Takes all but 5 mins to swap. The long bit is transferring the data over.

Personally I think its a waste now. Black ops has lost it's mojo. I jumped on the other night and the fun factor wasn't there.

I think the sandy bridge will remain at a similar price when the lga 2011 comes out later this year, but will drop significantly when the ivy bridge gets released next year. But then again, I'm probably wrong anyway...

It was pissing me off too, having the pc recognize only 4th of ram. Time to grab that 64 bit version of windows. The maximum amount of ram is actually theoretical: 2^32 = 4,294,967,296 ~ 4gb 2^64 = 1.844674407371e+19 ~ 18.4 billion gb That's right, if we had unlimited ram space for our pc, we could theoretically have a maximum memory of just over 18 billion gb......... WTF?!?
