  1. Is there an approximate number that -5's can be made to run to - hp & psi? Be happy if the cams are not suspect. Once had Poncams B's. They sucked teh balls off a mange ridden dog. Thing is the power curve is about right when compared to an old, stock motor with much the same specs for bolt on stuff (dyno comparison dodginess aside). Within a few horsepower right along the range.
  2. Went with your recommendation of Sean. Happy with the tune, just want the rest of the horsepowers.
  3. Were brand new in box. Now brand new in car.
  4. Where to now? I have an RB26 in good condition (not long been built), but at only 410rwhp it doesn’t exactly light things up. Has the following: Forged internals. -5 turbros, HKS actuators. Cast iron exhaust manifold, ported. Tomei dumps. Apexi exhaust. 256 degree inlet cam. 252 degree exhaust. Cam gears. 75mm I/C with a hard pipe kit. Stock inlet manifold. Power FC off Z32 AFM’s. Blitz ID III boost controller. Other stuff than means it wont go bang but that dont relate to output. It came back from the tuner with 410 horsepower and a note that they could only get the boost controller to run to 16lb. It apparently made 22 with the wastegates shut but no idea what horsepower. Questions are twofold: On the assumption (perhaps misguided) that it’s the problem where do I go looking to properly diagnose the boost control fault as the shop couldn’t find it (They blamed the wastegate actuators). Once the thing has been wound out to whatever boost it is capable of running I assume it would only be good for short of 500rwhp. So, the question is where do I go looking for more horsepower. The following options come to mind. Replace the twin turbo pipe with something aftermarket which may help a little. Go to a larger inlet cam (Poncam A?) Adjust cam gears for days on end. Dunno. Please note E85 is not a viable option where i am.
  5. To be fair there have been extended periods when they were both crap.
  6. Pretty much as per the title. Actually, exactly as per the title. For a GTR so 5x114.3 stud pattern. Ideally would prefer a +15 offset but if you have a +22 that would be ok too. Either two or four. Flick us a pm if you have some for sale.
  7. Doesnt really matter how well the sensors are calibrated if they drift from that calibration. Sounds very much like that is the problem RedBull are having.
  8. Bit like chook lotto, really. You can be damn sure if it was Ferrari that had been affected the FIA would already have fixed it in their favour. Like they always have. Actually that is probably the only way it will get sorted - Kimi or Fernando get screwed by it. There again they are so off the pace no one would ever know. As case of too much regulation, too much intervention and too much faith in equipment that is clearly on its limit of performance. There again it is prbably Adrian Neweys packaging that makes it hard. Guessing it is more complicated than ten pipe diameters upstream and four down. Anyway Homo ftw in Malaysia? Odds look good for an MB 1 2 3 4. Homo, Rosberg, Magnussen, Button....
  9. Well it does because if it was a bullshit number you can understand why they reacted in the way they did. EG: FIA: "We now want you to reduce your fuel flow by 5%" RB: "It was 0.2% on Friday your numbers are clearly rubbish. Get stuffed." FIA: "Resistance is useless" etc etc* * Yes I am likening the FIA to the Vogons.
  10. So how many % did the FIA say the Red Bull flow meter was out on Sunday? (As opposed to Friday)
  11. They are all tested then an offset applied (eg its 2% over reading or under reading or whatever) and then used. It is easy to say it should be perfect but nothing in this world ever is.
  12. Not sure which side I am on in this. Maybe they are both right. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/motorsport/formulaone/sebastian-vettel/10728029/Sebastian-Vettel-fuels-row-over-lack-of-noise-from-F1s-new-engines-as-Jenson-Button-says-we-can-hear-fans-now.html
  13. These blokes would amuse the hell out of you then. Kea's. And they dont come from Korea.
  14. Well you can always hope. Problem with teams going better than they should is they almost invariably find some way of stuffing it up. eg Bottas in the wall or it rains and they have no wet weather pace or some other random reliability thing that screws a good weekend. Wish I could pocket a dollar for every time multi 21 gets trotted out this weekend.
  15. Has anyone bought/had a read of this? http://www.bookdepository.com/Forghieri-on-Ferrari-Daniele-Buzzonetti/9788879115650
  16. Nah Bottas took himself out.
  17. Rosberg's worked which is a good start and maybe an indication it will continue to work. They only get five (?) per year so you would hope one gp hasnt knackered it. Predicitng Ricciardo will continue to dominate his fragile team mate.* Hoping the Caterhams qualify nowhere near the Williams. *May have gone somewhat early with the domination call.
  18. Well you could make the same argument on engine rpm - but it only revved to 20,000rpm for ten seconds etc etc. Or indeed any other parameter they choose to measure that is a measure per unit of time. It has to be instantaneous to make any sense.
  19. You should find the word instantaneous in the FIA stuff somewhere. Otherwise 100kg/hour is meaningless. I mean the FIA are sh!t, but surely not that sh!t?
  20. You mean they ignored a directive based on erroneous readings so that they would not be disadvantaged in comparison with other teams. Hardly the same thing.
  21. Its the surface finish on paint/powder coating that looks like, um, orange peel.
  22. Well I dont think anyone really aspires to owning a Nissan. A GTR maybe and some of 4WD types like the Patrol but the Nissan badge itself, na. Far too many cod ordinary cars over too many years to establish any of the things the marketing types like to think the "brand" represents. If you dont believe me check the number of GTR's with the Nissan badges removed....
  23. Mmm, Pontiacs. Glad Nissan never messed with their brand names. Oh, wait. To help things along here is a pic of a Skyline for the fans out there. The Prince fans that is.
  24. Yeah those ones. They can be done/undone with a 17mm socket (just went and checked) or a 21mm socket over the project mu socket.
