  1. No is the short answer. But the complication is you dont really want it bashing the bump stop repeatedly and definately dont want it bottoming out. To get more travel you need to change the hats on the dampers (The bits that hold it to the chassis)
  2. Phark. http://www.news.com.au/sport/motorsport/mark-webbers-porsche-tops-opening-le-mans-24-hour-qualifying-amid-day-of-crashes/story-fne8930l-1226951584775
  3. There doesnt appear to be any numbers for the race but looking at the trap speeds in quali: Pos No Driver Time of Day Speed 1 11 Sergio Perez 13:05:19 337.7 2 19 Felipe Massa 13:28:15 337.5 3 77 Valtteri Bottas 13:27:53 335.6 4 44 Lewis Hamilton 13:53:28 334.0 5 6 Nico Rosberg 13:05:40 333.6 6 27 Nico Hulkenberg 13:27:50 333.4 7 26 Daniil Kvyat 13:30:55 332.0 8 25 Jean-Eric Vergne 13:31:08 331.7 9 20 Kevin Magnussen 13:05:49 331.5 10 22 Jenson Button 13:06:47 330.3 11 4 Max Chilton 13:06:41 328.7 12 7 Kimi Räikkönen 13:29:55 328.4 13 8 Romain Grosjean 13:31:25 328.3 14 14 Fernando Alonso 13:29:58 327.7 15 99 Adrian Sutil 13:05:31 326.4 16 3 Daniel Ricciardo 14:00:20 326.4 17 17 Jules Bianchi 13:08:37 325.9 18 1 Sebastian Vettel 13:31:04 325.1 19 9 Marcus Ericsson 13:04:50 323.5 20 10 Kamui Kobayashi 13:08:01 322.7 21 13 Pastor Maldonado 13:05:01 321.2 Yet again the RedBulls were near on the slowest and anything with MB power was up the front. Chico fastest of all. The DRS can only do so much. Dan only got past Perez when he started to have brake problems which meant he only had a small window to get it done and get after Britney. Had he not got either move done when he did it would have been p2 at best.
  4. Isnt it usually either 2 or 4 thou depending on what type of alloy the piston is?
  5. Well try this for a trick. Put the car on full lock (ie turn hard left) and stick your head under the guard. Look to see how much shock travel you have at the current ride height. If you like you can try and measure the height between the top of the damper and the bottom gof the bump stop. Then have a think about how much travel you will have when the ride height is 20mm lower......
  6. I dont understand. Datsun was a shit brand. Their cars were awful. Why the nostalgia? I mean maybe the Z, but that lives anyway and maybe the 1600 but everything else was rubbish. 120Y, 180B, 200B, Bluebird, the list goes on. All shite. The brand died because it was a joke. For years people would take the piss out of a Nissan by calling it a Datsun. Still do, in fact.
  7. The trophies (Or the first place one) are, if memory serves, based on the steering wheel in one of the Coopers Brabham drove. Youll see the thin wooden trim around the outside. Not sure if the diameter is right but it may be. So they are atleast ok in their inspiration if maybe not so much in their execution. Still there are plenty of more shit ones at the various races.
  8. Some good news on a sad day. Mr Westacott revealed from next year, the Australian Grand Prix's trophy will be re-named. "Australian and international drivers alike can aspire to win the Sir Jack Brabham Trophy," Mr Westacott said.
  9. Screw you Ben. My parrot takes awesome care of my GTR.
  10. Whatever Harry. As ever you have turned the thread into a pissing competition. Good work.
  11. No the Perez reference (Atleast the first half) isnt. But this bit: "lol I wouldn't call the pass to get into the lead a "tiny little window"." where you have miscontrued the meaning of what I posted clearly is. As for Massa it wasnt his fault but that is not the same thing as saying he should not have been so close such that it put him in a vulnerable position. Atleast he remembered to open his DRS on that lap so good on him. Williams needs the results, needs the points and having a car in the wall achieves nothing. My broader point is that one of the ways you tell if a driver is good is that they make the most of the little opportunities that sometimes present themselves. Like Dan, Jensen and one or two others in Canada. Even Britney although he was probably more lucky than anything. The radio messages mid race were to push the brake bias backwards as he was losing time. It was more mischance than planning that meant this setup compensated for the MGU failure. Not using the rears up to that point probably meant he got home where Homo did not.
  12. My point was he didnt have long to get the three things done and any hesitation in any of them would have meant p2 not p1. Or p3 like his team mate. Not saying they were epic overtakes or anything just that he made the most of the little time he had. Still we can always rely on you to find something to pick apart and rain on the yocal drivers parade with. Anyway a MB motor that is 160bhp down is pobably not far from equal to a Renault given how rubbish they have been this year.
  13. Well he had to make the most of three tiny little windows - the first to get past Vettel at the pit stop, the second to get past the Force it India and the last to get into the lead. So three from three and a really good win. Compare his efforts with, say Massa's, who ended up in hospital and probably cost his team near on a million bucks in repairs and lost prize money. Or Maldanado. Or Kimi.
  14. Just to confirm they are stock size not 86.5 or 87.0mm?
  15. What, you think he gets all those rubbish tats & that sh!t hairdo for free?
  16. Yeah I was surprised to hear about the boost mode thing. Also this: Hamilton was confronted with the knowledge, which emerged at the weekend, that on his way to victory in Spain two weeks before he had switched to an engine 'boost' mode the drivers had been forbidden from using. He responded by saying that it did not affect the outcome of the race, and that anyway Rosberg had already done the same thing in the course of their titanic battle for victory in Bahrain last month. Shame to see Marussia get lucky and Caterham not. Sauber must be spitting chips too - what if they cant get on the board?
  17. Homo is lucky there is no well credentialled German who appears to be disenchanted with his team floating about and who could easilly take his spot. Oh, wait. Hamilton is either doing this because he is a complete douche bag or he is getting some very, very poor advice. Interesting to see what happening in Spain with him turning up his engine. Note that it came out of the team, not out of Rosbergs mouth.
  18. I'm sure Massa would have puked when he way it. Pretty uneven outcome if you ask me (Not that it was Britneys intent you would think) Britney gets pole and Massa gets P18 when someone runs into him.
  19. Would be brilliant to see him win at Monaco in tribute to Jack Brabham who won his first ever Grand Prix there in 1959. Too much to ask?
  20. You dont get to F1 or win a WDC by not working hard. Yes he is being a dickhead but he is also obviously trying to fk with Britneys head and ensure he dominates him for the reast of the season. In contrast here is a bloke dominating his team mate and yet showing some actual class: http://www.formula1.com/news/interviews/2014/5/15856.html
  21. Bought a cap. https://www.nissanmerchandise.com.au/store/nissan/nissan-mens/nissan-accessories/p-170-nismo-cap Failed to see these. https://www.nissanmerchandise.com.au/store/c-160-specials/p-148-bathurst-retro-gt-tee
  22. Sorry Im a bit dim and dont understand that.
  23. Is it important to read the vacuum? Looking at the Blitz unit there are only three wires that go to the dual solenoid unit. Logically one for each solenoid and an earth. So in that instance the display signal is the same thing as the control signal.
  24. Nah not really. But the Nismo mount fixes the problem so why introduce the complexity if you dont have to?
  25. So the take off point on the drawing under the plenum is ok for the supply of boost pressure to the solenoids? The tee is for the boost to the controller.
