  1. Yeah the HSCC have one on Cup Day @ Sandown as well. I'm half tempted to give one of them a crack if the car is ready again and the new pogo sticks are in.
  2. Loud and vibrating....
  3. Sounds like I got lucky. I had to take my 4yo daughter out yesterday morning so I put the race on record and when I got home (about 1pm) I watched the whole race in 2x speed and skipped the commercial breaks. By doing that I had actually caught back up to "live" with 6 laps to go! Was a great way to watch it!
  4. It reminded me on why I stopped doing track days - shit just seems to go wrong for me! LOL
  5. Hey I didn't get a time so you were quicker than me on the day. Take the win while you can!
  6. Aarons not on the list? He'd already done a 1.33 before I left so was curious if he'd gone any faster.
  7. So..... went to Winton today for a bit of a cobweb cleanout and to evaluate some new tyres (since me and Dunlop M1's were not great friends) and got halfway through the 1st practise session and I popped another front right wheel bearing - same as I did at Targa Wrest Point earlier in the year. Don't suppose anyone out there might want to proffer an opinion on why I'm suddenly doing front right wheel bearings after 5 years?? The only significant difference on the car since before this issue started is a Nismo front diff. But I can't think why that might be doing it (unless someone can tell me otherwise?)
  8. Not on a rally but I once made the mistake of having a caramel milkshake at lunch before going on an intense twisties run in an EMO. I felt terrible even as the driver! LOL But it did teach me a lesson to watch what I eat before driving hard.
  9. It's probably too late for this time around but for what it's worth I'm staying here with a couple of the WRX guys - http://www.glidermotel.com.au/maps.html Apparently it's good for trailers for future reference which is why they stay there. But be warned that they hate drifters so if they ask say you don't like them either! LOL
  10. No the boxster was just to help perm his hair!
  11. As far as the "winner" goes it will be interesting to see who becomes eligable. So far in Modern Steve Jones, Jim Richards, Kevin Weeks, Tony Quinn, Jason White have all entered 2 of the 4 events (thats presuming they all do TT10 as expected) with only SJ doing Buller currently and the others all doing TWP. None of them are yet doing all 3 events which means at they'd all have to do Lake Mountain IF they want to be eligable. for the championship I'll keep my eye out and if that remains the status quo and none of them enter Lake Mountain I'll go and enter it and try and win the Championship by default! LOL But then Lake Mountain in no sure thing to even run which means none of them would be eligable and someone like Sammy Stevens will end up being crowned the 2010 ATC Champion in her Pulsar! *Edit - it seems Kevin Weeks and Jason White are infact doing all 3. That might make it tough for Sammy now...
  12. Oh - and I added 2010 to the thread title
  13. Yeah hopefully it doesn't turn out like the old Dutton National Championships where the winners were basically winners by default by being the only people to go to all of the events. LOL The 1st place getter never even finished on a podium in any one event let alone won a round. Still it's a good little promotion and it can't hurt. But it does seem to suggest that this years "last ever Mt Buller rally" is going to be a bit like a John Farnham concert and keep having comebacks.
  14. Why not collect the set hey!
  15. Has anyone tried using the track vision software before? I'm going to try it out with the POV and a driftbox this weekend. It might be a cheaper option than Benny's super cool video box.
  16. What would be a more significant comparison than the graph of stock V Willall custom tune with new software would be a comparison of Cobb Stage 2 v New Custom Tune. Also - there's been no mention of any change in the "boost spike" at gear change with the new system.
  17. Well if you can run the Prologue in under 3mins I'll be the 1st there to shake your hand! Personally I'm expecting to get the "Beat the 2 Pretty Boy's in a stage" thing done at George Town given I nearly did it last year despite trying my very best to end my rally there on a set of those big white tractor tyres down near the water, and then driving like a granny for the rest of the stage (and having Dan tell me to hurry up even. LOL)
  18. I sure hope so. Because it will mean I've made it that far! LOL
  19. HAHAHA - I know I'll feel smart enough to be glad I'm in a heavy 4WD car rather than a light RWD $4K shitter that's getting knocked around by the elements!
  20. You're spot on mate. It does sound full wank.
  21. Yeah it's interesting in that as much as I'm really looking forwards to having a go at the full TT next year I'm still not 100% convinced it will be a "must do" for me going forwards. In many senses I think the event might be too big (long) for my liking. I really enjoyed TT Rookie, and TWP and can't wait to go back and do that again next year (and hopefully get up to Tahune for lunch this time!) - but I quite enjoyed the short sprint style nature of those events. I'm not sure how much I'm going to endure the enduro mentallity of Targa - not to mention it must hurt 11ty times more should you have issues on Day 1 at Targa like I did at TWP compared to a smaller event. TT sure don't need extra numbers but if they ever did I reckon they could get a good case to run a mini shorter event within the event at TT (like you can have a 10km fun run in conjunction with a marathon), that basically just covered the 3 Days at the top of Tassie. I know its the roads as you move south that are supposed to be the true high-light of the event, but its as you move south that the logistics get so hard and make the event so much more expensive as a competitor. But I reckon if there was a shorter 2-3 Day event based out of Launceston much like TWP is - I reckon I'd be more likely to put the 2 short events on my "must do" list ahead of TT. But then that could all change once I actually do the full thing! LOL
  22. Hey we get 6 tyres too - you just get to use yours a day earlier. My issue in life is I have 2 sets of rims but they are different sizes and GT-R's don't deal well with split rim sizes front to rear. So I can see me just using 4 tyres regardless next year. LOL And I can't believe you've started with the excuses already!
  23. Well I've now got 2 objectives for the event. 1. is to break the Rookie Jinx and actually finish (I believe no past Modern Rookie winner has finished the full event the next year). 2. Beat you on a stage. LOL - I got within 1s a couple of times last year but couldn't quite manage to do it once. Now I just have to make sure I don't fail Objective 1 trying to achieve Objective 2!
