  1. How did we do it? From the above it looks like NOONE has done it. This does not work for me with my iPhone 3GS. I can easily select BT at the source. Have you actually had it working?
  2. Unreal! Kudos to you sir. Finally I can delete album by album on my music box!!!
  3. hey mate I'm doing some work for Aurora. I work for IBM designing software. Shoot me a message if you're in town, I'm here a few weekdays each week.

  4. Hmmm... don't suppose you took a photo? Did you order one from fmBand Expanders in NZ? I'm going to have a Tom Tom (Mini USB) plug wired in too while I'm at it. If I CBF'd I was going to investigate having a mini SD set top box powered and connected up to the AUX. Unsure how the reception would be though with little/no aerial. Hey - is your V36 manual? If so Geoff told me about yours. I'm in Hobart regularly on business. If you ever come down this way let me know. Would love to bring my one over on the ferry but don't know if I could be bothered with the 10+ hour trip.
  5. Hey, I have my iPhone paired but cannot get the music to play via Bluetooth. If you can do step by step that would be appreciated, I'm sure I'm not the only one. Due to the nature of the thing I think a little video clip would be best if you can do one (plus it'll save you the pain of writing it up). I lost my camera on a recent bucks night... (along with the evidence).
  6. Hi David, Thank you for your enquiry. What area are you in Australia so I can work out the frequency range you would need and also are the main stations you listen to in the higher band range eg.over 100MHz? Also I would need to know what type of antenna plug is in the back of the radio unit eg. A single plug or a twin pin plug as these model vehicles varied. Regards, Peter Hi Peter, I'm in Melbourne. I like to listen to as high as 107.5Mhz and as low as 89.9Mhz (or perhaps a little lower). Is there an easy way for me to determine the antenna plug? How much are the units + shipping? Regards, David. Hi David, The unit you need is a 10MHz which will allow reception below 100MHz by deducted 10MHz from the station you want and 20MHz deduction for stations above 100MHz. The cost is NZ$30.00 including airpostage. There is no easy way. If the radio is a factory unit then it will probably have a twin plug as they have a diverse antenna. If it has had the Bose system installed instead of the factory unit then it will more than likely have a single plug. That's as close as I can tell you. Payment per Visa/Mastercard or PayPal or Bank Direct credit if you can do that from Australia. 7. Hmmm... so should I be going back to workshop that inserted my lights and ask them to pay the $55? Would non-Nissan work shops have the scan tools for a V36? I know a performance shop had one for my R34 when it had a coil pack error.
  8. This is correct. It will not rip MP3 CDs/DVDs or from the CF. Buy a 50 spindle, burn your Audio CDs in iTunes to get all correct song names etc appear and after it's copied then give the CD to a friend as a present. If anyone can show some screenshots of deleting individual songs or a step by step guide - that would be great. I can't do this.
  9. If anyone buys (and has luck with) that cable please do let the forum know if it works and charges a 3G+ iPhone.
  10. Yes, I believe there is a cable that will make the iPod family work with the car. It is the proprietary cable. Note - the iPhone only just came out in the US when my car was made (2007), so from what I understand compatibly with the iPhone is questionable. I remember reading on some G35 driver forum that it plays the music but doesn't charge is iPhone 3G because it's missing some chip, or something like that. Obviously it'll work with the R/W/Y cable, but I'm guessing you won't be able to control the music through the player this way. I'd love to install a little set top box into the AUX and wire it up to 12V... TV in the car.
  11. Yes - I only just thought this the other day. I have had the original lights put back in post compliance, and it was about that time that the problem occurred. I passed on info from my compliance shop that the easiest way was to remove and go in via the front wheel, but maybe they took the bar off or fiddled around with it there. Thanks - will go down to Nissan and have it sorted. Would they do this free of charge?
  12. A simple solution for the TV would be to use a small SD set top box, wire it up to 12V and plug it into the AV. Note that's all just theory, I have a super small cigarette packet sized set top box but haven't done it.
  13. Any takers? Is that a boot light? A bonnet light? (neither of which open the way in the icon) The front impact sensor/airbag light?
  14. Hey guys, Anyone know if the V36 has this option? I know some V35s do. I have a V36 SP, would have thought it would be an option. For now I just have my left side mirror permanently aimed down. Maybe they removed it because of the reversing + side camera, but that doesn't stop me grinding my rear passenger tyre on a reverse parallel park (which come to think of it they may not even have in Japan..?) David.
  15. Hmmm... you know maybe that's what it is... Here is the light I'm talking about
  16. For the benefit of the forum - just spoke to my compliance guy. He said they do use a fully synthetic oil, and it is most likely just a manual reset thing based on the ODO.
  17. Everytime I start my V36 it pops up with a warning message in Japanese. A friend who can read some tells me it's something about Engine Oil, presumably 'please change it'. My car came into the country with 10,000kms on the clock and I assume a full oil change was done during compliance. It's done 16,000kms now. I also know in the menus there is a setting where you can adjust the service intervals and all that. Does anyone know if this warning appears due to sensors in the car, i.e. it can tell the oil needs changing, or is it something that service guys manually reset during a service (which they neglected to do, fair enough being all in Jap).
  18. I used Prestige Motorsport too, Geoff is great. My DEC 2007 V36 had 10,600kms on it, as per the auction sheet and the service manuals. Mind you I paid a bit more at auction for such a low KM car, the value IMO is to be had with the ones with 'high' KMs. One similar spec/colour sold with 50,000kms for considerably (i.e. $15k) less. If it's well looked after that's somewhat irrelevant. I wouldn't touch a local one if they didn't have books or auction papers, cars that new should almost always have them.

  20. Also 180 wanabe did you end up doing anything else to your cars suspension? What is that LSD like? From the sounds of it I'll have to do the lot (bars, braces, springs, shocks) before I notice a big difference. Obviously $$$$
  21. OK thanks. Can I ask what you paid for these? Not much a difference huh? That's what I was afraid of. What setting do you have them on? From what I understand the fronts have 2 settings, the rear 3, or maybe the other way round. Thanks. Yeah maybe a 370Z stuff will suit. Any particular brand of springs? Any particular model of shocks (i.e. are these 350z track shocks Nissan / Nizmo branded)?
  22. Hey guys, Got a stock V36 and LOVE it. Upgraded from a modded R34 with full HKS suspension throughout. The V36 is pretty floaty / too much roll / 'nervous when cornering' in comparison. I think it could be a sportier. I've read that the best bang for buck suspension mod you can do on a rear wheel drive car is a larger front sway bar. The whiteline product for this car is $250 or so. Any experiences here? I'm thinking of taking it down to Tru Track in North Melbourne for a quote and to discuss. Cheers, David.
  23. Hey guys, My V36's boot/bonnet warning light on the dash is permanently on. I can't tell from the little picture if its the boot or bonnet it's referring to. I've had a quick look to check and manually repress all possible sensor things but I couldn't really find many. Any ideas? I have disconnected the battery and reconnected (i.e. performed a reset). Cheers, David.
  24. Hey does anyone know if the V36 SP has the 'rear mirror down' reverse feature? I wish I had it, I just have one of my side mirrors permanently down for massive fear of scraping my brand new rims.
  25. Ha - same with mine. I wouldn't mind keeping on album on there... make it like a tradition, each owner keeps one album on the system when they pass it on. I've got all this classical piano, and also some Britney Spears/Christine Aguliera Xmas special CD... The piano isn't too bad, not something I'd normally listen to. I figured mine was owned by some Jap 40-50 something exec dude... said that at a party once and a femo got up in my face saying 'HEY, IT COULD HAVE BEEN A FEMALE EXECUTIVE!!!' Obviously she hasn't been to male dominated Japan.
