I have no doubt that someone, probably everyone could have done better than I have up to this stage. Even with the shit going on, I have enjoyed doing it, I can afford it, would have been easier I knew what I was doing , but thats how it is. The old set up was crap compared to how it drives now, even with the existing problems I am happier This car already drives great, plenty of torque from idle right through the revs, it is strong and linear, well until it falls over @ 6500rpm but that will be fixed very soon. I am not doing the E85 to get response, I will probably hardly ever use it, just wanted to have it there should I decide to use it. Doing the dump pipe and Cat only because it is not doing the job and getting back pressure trying to squeeze it through 3". I might be having myself on but I reckon my car will be a very tough all rounder and be pretty quick

I am sure just about anyone could have done a better job building this car than I have, but it is my car and I do not worry about the money being wasted, I am happy the way it is coming together, no problem The car drives "much better" than it did as a 2.6 and once the changes are made it will be a very tough all rounder, quick and a beautiful R34GTR, what else could a bloke want

Michael , no offense taken, I left it up to the builder to do what he thought was best for the build. I would have done whatever he suggested needed to be done, as long as it was not noisy or peaky, I did not try to save money on the exhaust. There were modifications on the dump with the build, it was just not a good choice. I chose to leave the PT6262 on and had the flex Fuel Sensor and ID1300 injectors added . I figured that if I need to change anything else I would wait and see how the bolt-ons I had on it would work together. It is not finished, so wait until the fat lady sings. I think a lot of blokes have spent more on their cars over the years trying to get what they want, I just spent it all at once When you talk about power it has (not) made, where would you put this power in a DD and how would you make it better, always open for constructive criticism ?

I pulled that up this morning, read a bit but will have to look at it later on. Ben, no it was never mentioned and I had asked a couple of times without a response.

The PT6262 Turbo and the 3.5" exhaust system from the dump was already in the car before the build was done but they left the 3" dump and 3" cat on when they did the build, they modified the top section of the dump pipe to fit the new Turbo location and left the 3" cat on. When I asked about it I was told it was a better setup for response and if I went bigger it would give me more top end and loose bottom response ,.

I know what you mean about no experience, haha I bought the car on a spur of the moment thing, just liked the look and the history of the Skyline. Did some mods on the car and it started to drive better but still too laggy, I decided to get it going the way I would enjoy it as a DD, so Nitto 3.2 Stroker was the best way I could find to help get the response I wanted. Got lots of help on SAU, OH and lots of smart arses, some good stirs but all good fun Did the drivetrain with the build , they are great mods and it is all coming together. This is really the dumbest shit I have ever done with a car, but loving it! When I am finished I will be happy I did it. even now it is great fun to drive and sticks to the road like shit to a blanket, even if it wont rev past 6500 rpm without farting. I will do the next mods and see what happens

Yeah Ben, it will be done before I do anything else, it will be interesting to see how it is going when it comes back

They said I needed a 3.5 inch exhaust done with the previous work before the 3.2 build.. Then I checked the Dump and Cat after the build and they are 3 inch. I am going to a 4" Dump and maybe a 5" Venom Cat and see how that goes with the 3.5" back from the Cat. If there is a problem with that it will be changed. I will go ahead with the fuel mods and the Flex Tune at some stage, I would rather overkill than pushing it . But I will wait until after it comes back from the repairs and see how it is running, maybe I will do nothing if I am happy with it???

Hi Joe I will have to ask some more about all of this and there is plenty of time to work it out.. Yes, I think twin entry rail, I do not know the difference, I need to ask more questions and then have to look it all up If I do this work naturally it will all be done before re tuning the the car for 98 and E85. I have a near new Bosch 044, can that be used as a lift pump to the 460 Walbro in the tank to feed the rail. Are you saying that the standard fuel line is adequate on this build ?? I see blokes doing all sorts of mods on the fuel line and do not have the build I have, understand, I was not going to touch the car again and here I am, it is worse than f**king drugs

Hi Ryan, not sure what graph you saw, this is the final tune Have to take the car back in a week or so, there are a few ongoing problems to sort out and after that I have to think seriously about what I will do. I think if I really want the car to run as it could with the build I need to dig into the pocket again I might get the Dump and Cat changed and fuel situation sorted so it can handle it if I turn it up a bit. The exhaust is getting back pressure and the fuel is close to the max, so I an thinking of getting another Walbro 460 and running both into a surge tank, new lines and twin fuel rail. If I decide to do these mods, then I will then get the flex fuel tune done. I did not think it was worth doing the Flex Tune the way it is, it would struggle to take advantage of E85 Also thinking about getting CAI box done, the END AGAIN

Not yet mate, they were tied up for a couple of weeks so maybe a couple of weeks or so, I do not want to give it to them unless they can start on it immediately, well hopefully, well maybe, well it could happen , haha

Hi Joey, hope your right, hate wasting money. There seems to be 2 different opinions on this subject but I am going with what you blokes have told me from your experience as I like first hand feedback not from books:)

Apart from the problems I have had since the build it goes pretty quick now , very linear. Feels great on corners, no surprises/ It will be interesting to see how a bigger Dump and Cat makes it respond and what it adds to the overall performance

Even with a Nitto 3.2 I could not make it But have not given up just yet this was 98 pump Going to upgrade the fuel line and exhaust. Do a flex tune , should make it on 98 and then see what E85 does to the Graph ????

I had 3 cars and all of them were different, all slower than the limit, going off the GPS/ I knew they were usually under the speedo reading, but by how much ?? I wondered why a couple of time before I had the GPS why I did not get book when I got sprung at 120 in a 110 , put the on a GPS and found out I was doing 110 when the speedo said I was 120, I was a good boy but did not know it Now I am happy doing the speed limit because most others are going slower, sort of worrying

Doubt very much that I would be staying in Sydney. I would not ask anyone to drive 8 hours so I can drop my car off, I just could not do that . Apart from the kids I am a bit of a loner, always have been

Probably why did not notice it, thought it might have something to do with the way my car can tramline pretty hard at times.. Put the RD08Rs on and it seems a little better, well I will wait for another drive before I get carried away, haha
