if they haven't given you fines on the spot then you are pretty much all clear... also, give the rta a call, because when i got defected and still had qld rego i called both the cops & the rta to see how i could get it cleared and both of them said that they couldn't clear the defect cos it was a qld registered car.....so i called qld transport & they said that they couldn't do anything because the defect was issued by nsw police so i took it to the AIS that is currently in my garage & engineered it myself......read: i took off the canary & never heard from the cops/rta about it again
