I'm not much of a rexy fan but i still know they are pretty good cars.... anyway there was a thread on here before that i started about how ugly the current rexy looks.... well it looks like Subaru listend to the cries of its fans and has confirmed a new and improved wrx is in production for 2009. Subaru MY09 WRX gets a thumping 195kw! When the bug-eye WRX was launched by Subaru in 2000, there was a hushed silence and it was widely decreed by the press after a few test drives that whilst the new model was a nicer drive, more refined and had much improved handling, it had lost the spark and thrill of the outgoing MY00 "classic" model. In short, some thought that Subaru was losing the plot somewhat. The facelifted MY03 and new 2.5L MY06 showed that Subaru was listening. Then came the MY08 WRX and the press reviews were even less inspiring that those about 'ole bug-eye. Recently coming last in its category in the 2008 Motor BFYB competition, the MY08 WRX was even declared by someto be unworthy of the WRX name. Subaru wasn't losing the plot, it had lost the plot. Today, at Sydney's Motor Show, Subaru have once again shown they were listening with the announcement of the revamped MY09 WRX. There have been rumours for a few weeks, and last week we got inside knowledge that the MY09 was going to get a serious dose of steroids, and now here it is. Get this - 195kw (up 26kw), 343Nm of torque (up 23Nm), upgraded suspension, and wider tyres (225/45x17, versus 205/50) all point to a much more serious WRX. Indeed, the MY09 WRX has as much power as the MY02-05 STi, and is lighter too! We can't wait to get our hands on it. sorry just found the info now, i know its 2 weeks late lol im sure itsbetter than the current model and has bigger power to try and save the wrx name

I have been searching for things to throw into my r33 gtst series 2 and every web based search i make there is a larger throttle body i can put onto my car,,,, ebay is full of them and here is a link so you guys know what i'm talking about... http://sydney.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-for-Sa...QQAdIdZ83573567 my questions are...... are these worth the money??? .... is there any real gain over the stock one???? ... has anybody had good results after buying one of these "universal" type throttle bodies??? ... how easy are they to install??? or is it something worth waiting untill i get a new plenum and match them up???? cheers

yeah dont worry, i only got pod, turbo back, should have fmic and boost controller by dyno day though, but i went to the jem one a couple of weeks ago with just turbo back and pod, good to see if your engine is in good nick before you throw money into it for performance, otherwise its a waste,,,, also lets you know if its time to sell it before the engine gets too warn out.... also at jem there were a lot of stock standard cars (i mean everything stock) there aswell... LOL doof, i dont get it,,,,,,, are you saying you got 13kw extra after adding exhaust, ecu and pod?????? if it is thats pretty funny

find me where in the law it says that billy????? i'm pretty sure your wrong billy,,,,,,,, i could park my car crossways on the motorway and if somebody hits it, it is there fault..... yes i will get a fine from the cops, and possibly manslaughter if it causes a fatality but atleast i wouldn't have to pay for the damage on the cars. a stationary car is never in the wrong in NSW and im pretty sure the law is the same for all of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the pacific islands, come to think of it i think the whole world has that law (could be wrong but as to my knowledge...). The person who was driving has to pay for the damage legally, but being mates i recon you buy a different rear bar and get it fixed for him. If it was one of my mates i'm sure they would offer half the money to repair it anyway if they parked across my driveway and i hit their car by accident, but i wouldn't ask for any money because at the end of the day its my fault, nor would i expect them to give me the money anyway.... be careful when reading replies because there are people on here that just write for the sake of writing..... like billy, or maby he just made a simple mistake and he was meant to say it the other way around, either way for the future when reading replies do not take them all as scripture.... as the old saying goes "believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear,,,,, or half of what you read on SAU FORUMS" lol

hahahah yeah it was on the jem dyno day, they only just got that dyno in and didnt know how to do some of the features or change them..... hell it took me a week and a half to get the print out lol.... but with the graph itself is there anything dangerous or can it be improved or spmething....????

need some help with this dyno graph,,,, i have no idea what its saying lol, i can work out 159.5rwkw was maximum run. does motive force mean torque? so does that mean im pushing 400nm? can somebody explain the rest of it and my graph aswell? Is there anything wrong with the graph? also only mods are pod and 3 inch turbo back..... 30-35degree temps on the day, are these good results for the situation????? cheers

you made me wanna enter lol,,,,,, my car is in prettuy good condition but the front lip is scraped on the 2 bottom corners..... engine bay is next to prestine,,,,, rest of the exterior paint is as new except for a couple of blemishes that are no bigger than a ball point pen tip.... interior is in perfect condition (not that people can get close enough to sit in it anyway..... boot has a couple of thunder 5500 12 inch MTX subs.... but as i said before the boot shouldn't be on display lol. and i take pride in my headlights,,,,, they soo clean thanks to plastx if you don't get enough people joining just give me a holla before the deadline and i'll join, up to you doof... throw you some pics of it and highlight the few blemishes it has.... also imagine it with FMIC and maby borrow some nicer wheels for the weekend or something....

i'm dying to take my car to homebush and have it sit there..... but i'm afraid the coppers would have a field day on it, unshielded fan, pod, turbo back exhaust, (soon to be, Boost controller & FMIC).... so i'll take the miss's car... anyway i'm going on the saturday if you guys are going on the saturday....????

true,,,,, i agree,,,,, but seeing as the arc one is only $100 more expensive and having bought one i still feel riped off lol,,,,, guess you learn as you go.... and i wouldn't have winged if it was $400 which i recon something like this is actually worth.... but as i said earlier, aslong as it works and does the job

i wish my car was up for it,,,,, its pretty clean but not clean enogh to show off,,,, also my subs have destroyed my boot carpet and walls lol silly me,,,, and wheels are scratched and chipped from jap.... should be up to about 200rwkw by sau dyno day..... donno if thats enough for autosalon standards anyway.... should be in for next year though if everything goes well in the mean time... anyway i'll be there to vote for the sau boys there on the day, cant wait

i have lined the cooler up infront of the car, its obvious where the top bracket bolts to the car..... but have no idea where the brackets at the bottom of the cooler connect to the car?????? has anyone had this delemma before???? and yes i have searched for about 30minutes now for this answer....

somebody answer this question who has had experience or knows the law in nsw for it?????

anyway i picked it up, didn't get a discount..... found out a couple hours before a friend get his for $50 cheaper with sau discount, which i showed my sau card..... so wtf???? the build quality and finish of the cooler is pretty poor, especially for the price, i'd expect a $299-399 price tag at maximum with the build quality of this fmic. for another $100 on top i could have got a brand name cooler with the same style pipeing with a much better finish and doesn't look like its going to fall apart.... either way i'm going to compare with my friends to see if i got a one off example, honestly the thing looks ugly and is way overpriced for what i got, i really expected it to be better than it is.... but at the end of the day aslong as it does the job well i'll live with it. still pissed how they treat different customers with different rules, especially in this scene where word spreads quick and everyone knows one another.... and i'm polite when i meet people, and have already spent over $1000 with jj before this purchase on pipes, cat and a gtr indicator that i had no choice but to pay through the nose... still just having a winge, overall ive had good experince with them but just felt that this time i wasn't wanted on the premises, and got alittle ripped off..... and no i didnt turn up 5 minutes before they closed, it was an hour before they closed.
