  1. spotted this at castle towers fitness first this arvo,,,,,, always a motza of good cars up there, 180's, VWr32's, AMG mercs, wannabee honda's lol
  2. when are you meant to measure the oil levels? when the engine is warm or as cold as possible????
  3. lol omg, even my mum knows this answer lol,,,,, thats allot of fuel and oil being used by the engines if these guys were building one..... 2.5litresof fuel times 6000 revs per minute=15000litres/min lol jet engines dont eat that much fuel during an afterburn.... but i guess you come here to learn and hope you don't get led astray by another noob
  4. i mounted an island once because some old man with a stupid acubra hat didnt keep his lane,,,,, I used to get a grinding sound when i put the car in reverse or when i dropped the gear without accelterating, it sounded like stone grinding..... anyway lifted it up and it was a piece of mettal that got bent and was rubbing on the rear axle, i just bent it out of the way..... cant remeber if the metal was from one of the exhaust mounts or an axle guard... anyway it would be something simple like that
  5. where????? every one is trying to get back more than what they originally paid for them..... i'm still searching for a decent one at a good price.....
  6. yeah even that looser guy from top gear (the one thats all propper and poofy) took the Veyron up to 407km/h so it must really be an easy car to drive....
  7. the first scene of the gtr on the streets is the same place where the spy shots of the 370Z were taken...... anyone know where that is????
  8. i noticed that when i saw it this morning, but realised the comment about the transmission was made by another account to the person that posted the video....
  9. it didnt break 10 secs, it just beat 11..... still good though
  10. you mean they pushed autosalon back to the 13th and 14th???? GRRRRR i got a birthday thing at night on the 13th, lol now i can't take my time at autosalon lol
  11. hahahahah, not this time brendan, but i will next time lol. I just gota figure out how to get another 13rwkw...... stuff it, i'll just throw in a new ballbearing in it and ecu lol, then pretend its standard lol
  12. ouch brian, nice job,,,,, last time i saw it before saturday you were at about 230rwkw off memory
  13. steve i may be free on the friday if you need some extra hands for setting up.... either way i'll be there on the saturday as a spectator.... do they still have the voting thing this year????? or am i thinking of something else?
  14. are you talking about putting that turbo in your car????? is that what you mean by the shop???? lol im lost????????????
  15. your self lol hey albert i was running 10psi, but thats only for dynos and track days (which i still havent been to) don't feel the need to have it at 10psi for city driving, unless i feel like wasting an extra $10 a week on fuel lol and risk stuffing up my stock ceramic turbo....
  16. update, i'm not sure if i can make it for the cruise, got a friends farewell party in the city the night before and lets just say I may not be up for driving on the saturday, but i do guess i might be able to chuck an albert and show up for the meet hung over and go home when its time to head out lol we'll see on the day anyway
  17. 192.5 hehehehe and with the front mount the curve is allot smoother now and the results were consistent, 2 runs done and they were both almost identical the whole way, also got the same result twice, usually at these dyno events the second run looses abit of power, anything up to 10kw i seen.... all i can say is i assume the consistency is a good thing to have and to hamish..... i asked the guy who ran my car and he said he didnt hear any timing probs.... so i dunno i might just leave it for now and after my exams when i have some spare time i'll swing it by your way and see what you recon, either way i can put a face to your screen name lol
  18. No body got my big macs, lol.,,,,,, fordyr31 was the closest at 190kw, drdoof and nismo86 tried to scare me by saying $600 spent on the car would only get me to 168-178kw, bah humbug.... even i thought i'd only get 180kw..... can't wait to next dyno day
  19. 192.4rwkw 33 kw gain over last time
  20. owner recons been rebuilt 40 000km ago....
  21. if you can't decide i'll take the RX7 for you lol, they are a beautiful machine, completely different to the skylines but in its own right they are excellent. A friend of mine is actually looking at a 1991 series 5 turbo on sunday, what should he be looking for? I'm washing my car anyway because a few days ago while going throgh the m2 tunnel those bloody stupid exhaust fans splatterd oil on my car, couldnt wash it because i was going to work, then i finish work at midnight, wake up for work next morning, finish work midnight again, so gota wash it now.... and if its 20-25degrees tomorrow the temps will be ok for the dyno results, cooler air = denser air, denser air = more air, more air = more power lol
  22. just wanna add that now that its summer, my under bonnet temps get very hot now, i have an in cabin thermommetrer that reads the temp around the pod filter and its been getting up to nearly 70degrees celcius, a massive decrease in power on these hot days and i tend to use more fuel aswell, on open roads or cold days the air intake temp is the same as the atmosphere temp,,,,, I got an apexi pod that is uncovered and i believe i would benefit from the stock box with highflow panel or an enclosed pod that is shielded from some of the engine and turbo heat. But for on the track i cannot see how the heat would effect the air intake temps purely because of the amount of cold air being thrown into the engine bay at high speeds..... drifting is another story completely and if i was to drift allot i would definately shield the pod or put standard box back in...
  23. waste of effort and time..... all they do is do a few measurements and keep the car on for a little while to reduce the pressure or heat or something for the turbo,,,,, yes they are good to have for the turbo but your not meant to thrash the car and then turn it straight off anyway.... your an idiot if you do that, thats why most events have a warm down lap, if your cruising around looking for a car spot you dont need a turbo timer, if you live anywhere other than a highway or a main road you won't need one, and on most cars if you have a tt you have to wait for it to turn off just so you can lock the car and turn the alarm/imobiliser on so your better off just sitting in the car for a minute before you turn the ignition off. If i was looking for a fast car to steal, i'd look for one with a turbo timer i can see from the outside of the car, think about it, all the wires for hot wireing a car are exposed so you dont even need to damage the steering column or waste time trying to find the wires.... most TT's don't allow alarms to be activated untill the TT has turned off so more chance of someone successfully getting away with your car, they are illegal for the very reason that some faulty ones stay idleing in undercover car parks and never turn off untill you return to the car and disconnect it, and good luck getting insurance from a ride off when they recover the car and say "if the TT wasn't there the car wouldn't have been stolen because the person set the alarm and immobiliser before the TT turned off". if your buying it for time measurements your going to put other things in the car, like ecu's and guages, boost controllers and so forth, most of these products integrate timing in them aswell now, and allot more accurate. I bought an insurance aproved alarm/imobiliser with a built in TT, no fuss, no hassel, never forget to arm it because it arms itself if you forget, it arms even if the TT is still on, its legal. and if you are buying it to do both measurements and to use as a traditional TT don't forget it will be visible for you to see it while your driving, so car theives and coppers can see it aswell... spend alittle extra, an imobilser and a TT seperate will cost you around $200 right???? up to around $400 if you get it installed at a car audio place???? $600 i got mine prfesionally installed at rretail price and i have piece of mind that i have one less thing to get defected and hasseld about, and i have more chance of comming back to the car park and being able to drive home that night, and if it does still get flogged there is no reason for insurance to reject the claim.
  24. your abit of a douche if your going to buy a $200 pot just to cut it up.... and yes you can get them for $20, thanks to china
  25. lol noooo!!!! you can't sell it Andrew....
