i personally dont touch shell v power at all.... I find that i get less km's out of it and less power.... Usually use mobil 8000 most of the time, then bp ultimate if mobil is out.... used to use vortex 98 religiously, found no difference in performance, operating temps or milage compared to ultimate or 8000, only difference is around my area its usually more expensive than the rest.... I have used united 98 octane fuel and i find it pretty good, no problems with my car. shell in my area is by far the cheapest but i get high end pinging when i use it, also had idle issues with it... my car probably isnt tuned right for shell fuel, each car is different so just find whats best for your car. There is no one right answer to this question.

check that the coil/wire harness connections are actually touching..... i had same thing and all it was was a douche didnt connect the plugs properly.... then throw in a working one and see if it works..... i dont know how to do it but ive read on here that people repair coils all the time..... im not sure but search that aswell

well my mates change their plates and dont get hassled anymore. think how they search you on data base.... type in rego, car make model comes up along with that cars notes, inside the notes is the owner ofthe car.... most cops wouldnt bother checking the drivers stats unless they have a reason to... liike you drove illeagally or car has a history of infringements..... just change plates, and if your dumb cnt enough to get black flagged you most probably deserve it and ware it like a man, other than plates and not giving them a reason to pull you over should be enough

opps sorry didnt look at the last post

i get atleast 450km before i fill it back up with $50 every tuesday night..... 550 if i really risk having to push it $60 in fuel???? i'd rather keep my gtst with similar fuel consumption. Bloody honda adding so many extras to the car it makes it weigh a tonn and the engine struggles to pull it from a standing position....

nah thats cool, i dint mean that my xr6 t guy was biblical lol, could be right, could be wrong, but every car is different, everyone drives them different, even depends on your altitude of where you dyno the car. the kw gain/loss thing isnt important at only 3kw, but he recons the oil temp with royal purple was on average 75degrees but similar temps, similar driving same fuel his temps would hang around 85 degrees. to compare with my own experience when my elf is new i average about 70degrees and now when its starting to burn it runs at 80-85degrees and has lost a noticeable amount of power (not dynoed, just from feel of the car). best is to try differnet oils and keep a close eye to engine temps and work out for yourself which is better for you. Lower engine temp means better cooling by radiator, slightly cooler air getting into the turbo (reduce risk of detination, heat saturation, better more complete burn of fuel) increase the life of the coil packs..... less friction.... all this means better economy, safer more reliable car to run.... common sence really. but use what you feel is good for YOUR car. then pick what is a good price for what you get.

Is A Cold Air Intake Illegal For A Red P Plater?
Kujotk replied to coldairintake's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
red p's in nsw can't have any power mods at all, no exeptions have been given (turbo exceptions have been given to some p platers). Also to put another spin on things, in NSW even an enclosed pod can not be deemed as legal unless it is specifed in the rego as being engineered.... engeneering is a load of crap to begin with, especially with these mass produced items. they are meant to be a fire hazard and they also alter your exhaust emmision (ever so slightly) so when you go get an emmisions test you will 99.9% of the time fail. even a bloody non turbo stock standard r33 will fail emmisions test lol, not to mention most of the cars over 5 years old lol.... having said this i'm a p plater who got his p's before the gay rules came out so i got an r33 gtst, got front mount, turbo back exhaust, 10psi boost and a not enclosed pod and haven't been hassled at all. Also i should mention that my pod has never caught fire lol. -

i dont know what the original guys income is like????? all i'm saying is if he buys another stocker (12 ish years old) whats to say it will handle 10psi for long? its the luck of the draw, even at standard boost theres no guarantee.

allot of people hate motul with a passion, friend of mine compared it in an xr6 turbo to royal purple, recons he had 3kw gain and cooler running temps than motul. Differnt days though, other variables i guess. but thats what he said....

Luxon Monoblock Amp Running 2x 12inch Mtx 5500
Kujotk replied to Kujotk's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
changed amps and now i'm blowing the fuses behind the amp. What wires would be shorting to make the fuses blow. everything from the battery/capacitor/amp/subs is wired correctly...... also i by passed the capacitor to see if that was the prob, no change. is there anything else from the headunit that could cause the amp to short its fuses? its the only thing i'm missing because its a mess behind my headunit and when i installed it i only twisted the wires and electrical taped them up, i'm thinking that mabey the electrical tape has melted (the glue) and it's shorting to something there. but i can't workout why this would happen? there not related at all. got the rca's that plug front and back, and got the remote wire. they are the only wires that connect the headunit and the amp. -
if it were me (eventually i will be in your situation with my series 2) I would park the car for a few months, use public transport if you can or find other ways to get around untill you can afford to put a new upgraded turbo in. I don't mean go all out and put a massive high mounted lag macker in it, put if you get another second hand (suposable good nick) turbo, you run the risk of it stuffing up on you again, you have no idea what life a second hand stock turbo has gone through. they are old, they can fail even if they have minimal play and look and feel fresh. Just buy another decent turbo (brand new), or take your turbo and get it highflowed for about $800 ive seen. Highflows arn't the answer for running massive power, but its more than enough than what you need it for, fairly cheap compared to a new turbo (highflow is basically a newer better turbo of the original and run higher boost). me personally if i had the money i'd go a new better turbo. but its your decision

nope definately need the capacitor. with out it my front speakers get distorted and are quiter every time a deep beat is punched. also the headlights dim witout the cap. happend in my old car and in the skyline aswell (although it wasnt as bad in the skyline). Mind you i am running a shit supercheap autos battery, and dont know how well the alternator is running. -
doubt it, most if not all insurance now only care about the youngest driver. They have caught on to that trick. Theres only a couple of insurance companies that cover under 25year old drivers for turbo'd lines, and most insurance companies still don't want to play around with import cars. The only way you are likely to drive the car legally insured is in an emergency, trust me try to proove that your driving the car for an emergency to an insurance company... very dificult thing to do.

call US embassy, dont trust what people say on here, its too important and some people just reply for the sake of it. In the end its your risk, not anyone elses.
