  1. Is anyone trying to offload a front bar to suit an r33 gtst series 2. I'd rather it already be silver in colour and hopefuly a gtr style (genuwine or copy) or any other style that uses the gtr indicators... Beggars cannot be choosers so even if its a different style or colour, let me know anyway cheers
  2. hey mate do you have the GTR front bar still??? cheers
  3. Hey i have an r33 gtst series 2. It has a gtr front body kit. Tonight i drove the car up one of those curbs that cars can easily drive up, ive done it a million times, but for some reason i must have apprached it from the wrong angle and it got caught on the gutter and it damaged my body kit. I wouldnt mind if it was at the bottom thats already cracked and i dont care about, but this time it has damaged near the screw under the drivers side head light. Its dark so i can not see the extent of the damage but is there stuff that can repair it easily?? I'm pretty sure its fibre glass. also does anyone have a spare front that they dont use (preferable silver and either has indicators already or has slots for the gtr indicators)?? I'll pay for it cheers
  4. I agree and dissagree, The government is not giving it to everybody.... I agree that for the Economy my student $950 is going straight towards my Europe trip in June so my hand out won't alter the economy in a positive way, on the other hand I still recon that giving the impulse buyers (students) and people that need the money (strugleing households and farmers) will stimulate the economy overall. The pipe line project will help bury our economy if we start on it now, it will create jobs, but barely any jobs compared to the economic boost the stimulus package is meant to provide (in theory). The nation will be left in debt in the worse time possible if the pipeline is done now, a hand full of people would benefit on the pipe project financially, and at this time the water situation is the least of our problems, we have decent rain fall in most parts of the south at the moment, but financially we are up against a fire storm that would affect EVERYONE in Australia and not just farmers running out of water. Proper farmers should get a much larger hand out than that.... $950 would be like a days price of diesel while harvesting lol, its a joke but better than nothing. Also i'd spend the stimulus money on a Power FC or another ecu...
  5. i got same prob in my series 2 r33 gtst..... I dont notice it but people in thongs feel it..... ive gota turn different things on and off in my climate control to see if its the flaps or a hole from the engine bay lol sounds like i'm talking about a woman lol....
  6. True true, point taken, Summing up all the posts..... The car's condition is more important than the milage reading.... but both should be considerd when purchasing. I guess If the km's look dodgey then there "could" be other dodgy things done to the car. There are allot of dodgey KM cars around and allot of good legit cars around still. But dodgey km's doesn't mean the car is bad. As i said near the beginning i'm pretty sure mine has done allot more than the 66 000km it said when i got it particulary because the timing belt was changed and things like that, but i chose that car coz it was in excellent condition with the common slightly noise 5 speed that most lines have nowadays anyway..... and touch wood, i havent had any probs in a year and a half.... And yes i agree that any import cars that make it over here are better than the Commonhores and Falkadores
  7. coz its more reliable and easier to get higher power derrrr lol also you don't get cracks in the block... also its a skyline forum so most people on here are biassed towards it hehehehe
  8. There is a couple of posts a month about "r33,r34 shuddering, sound like wrx".... we should make it a permanent fixture near the top of the general maintenance section..... And its always a coil problem.... usually faulty connections or busted coil/spark plug.... What do the admins recon???? woooo me and Howie were right yehaaaa the coil kings lol
  9. just read this..... straight out the horses mouth, simillar to what i said and what i saw over there
  10. last time i was in jap i saw s13's road registerd.... 280z's..... i'm pretty sure theyve done more than 100 000kms they don't get rid of them but the tax on them goes up when you register them.... besides if you buy a $2000 car because you can't afford a $10000 car, an increase of rego by $1000 is the only choice poorer people in japan will have.... might as well go for a high performance car for similar price and rego costs..... also what is stopping people from constanly winding back the odometer before every official inspection??? the car does 20 000km between inspections, but its wound back 15000? it is super common over there as it is over here..... also an r33 gtst over there range from $1000 to no more than $7000 for a decent one.... (dont look at the price now compared to our shitty dollar)... Also most japs that buy a high performance car are not going to let it go to waste, they will and do drive it as much as we do, if not more because they are more into the racing scene, so what everyone here in aus also forget is that the way they drive over 10000km is allot different to our 10000km journey.... if they dont use it as a daily driver then it is going to be mainly a track car. So i'd rather a line that has done 100000km milage over here with longer roads than a car thats done 80 000km over there, coz chances are its had a harder life... the common misconception with us is we think that they dont drive their cars much because japan on a global scale looks small.... the southern island is about 1400km long, with cities and population spread throughout. Thats equivalent from melbourne to brisbane in length with cities spread throughout, we have a hand full of cities spread throughout and are much more likely not to travel between these cities....
  11. true true, the other day on m2 where there is 2 lanes and a bus lane i was following a truck for a while doing the limmit at 100 (truck was speed limmited to 100) we came up to a line of cars in the left lane that were doing 80-90km/h. so the truck overtook but as he went to get back into the left lane, these same idiots that were doing 80ish had now sped up to 100 and were hanging in the truckies blind spot (complete douche bags). so the truckie sees them and puts his idicator on for literally a minute and they dont let him in, so he starts driving closer to them and they are honking at him,,,,, not mooving out of the way. at this point i just droped the car into 3rd and gunnedaround them all using the bus lane. But seriously its a motorway and people are blocking truckies so brazenly. yes the truck could have slowed down and gone beind them but i wouldnt wanna follow these idiots either if i was the truckie. Also there was no common sence involved, the cars were a new honda civic 4 door and a honda oddysey, windows were tinted heavily o i'm guessing there was also stupid toys on their dash boards distracting them and they were waring cotton gloves to stop from etting sunburnt (through glass and tint (glass stops most uv rays anyway, like more than 90% of it lol)
  12. doesnt matter if its true or not, only matters when the signs go up and trust me there will be a massive news broadcast and an official launching of the new system. I guess there will be allot more people pulling over for "mobile phone calls" than ever before if they think they were speeding... doesn't this disrupt the flow of traffic? Also doesn't this increase the risk of fatal accidents if people are now being forced to pull over or drive very slow if they think they might have been speeding or had forgot for half the journey that they were doing 10km/h over the limmit before they remeberd the stupid new point to point sytem??? people will pull over and people will die in avoidable accidents, i bet you our great leaders havent thought of this??? Or will they make it illegal to to pull over for a phone call now aswell???
  13. and i'm not saying that your example hasnt got legit km's but it is possible to fake the books and get dodgey receipts that can proove what ever you want to prove. especially if the guy doing the scam (and theres a lot of them) has owned the car from brand new, drives it around where ever, has falsified the books from the beginning by constantly typing in the false odometer reading whenever the car will be officially seen by a 3rd party
  14. New steering, wheel, aftermarket gear knob, car previously had floor mats, new seats from wreckers or stolen and a simple re tread of the peddals... takes no more than 10 minutes to change all these and someone could source all these parts for free if they were in the game, fuel addatives to quite down the engine and stop smoke...... and if they were really serious they'd put thick oil in the gear box to stop the box from being noisey.... 95% of pople will have no proof that the 50 000km odometer on a 12 year old car arnt real....
  15. spotted sheng again at another broad minded person fest music festival, he was with another SAUer but i dont remember names anymore.....
  16. WOOOOOOOO FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ima start drinking for it now..... WOOOOO!!!! EDIT: please get drunk, wasted and smashed responsibly
  17. spotted goldzilla bout 20mins ago at 12:20 waiting to turn right west bound onto M2 from penno hills road.... late coast cruise i presume?????
  18. you must be talking about engine power output not at the wheels... i never heard of two non turbo r33's ever having two different official engine power readings???? sure you get this power difference between different engines because there not made exactly the same or on different dyno's on different days.... but im pretty certain nissan never intended this power difference (if there is a power difference at all). Websites are generally crap and have some sence of lies toward them..... you are using wikipedia as a source.... ive just read through wikipedia on the skyline page very briefly and ive found 3 mistakes... mainly because anyone can go onto the site and change what ever they want.... my brother made a story up about him being a decendent of the greek monarchy who is now living in sydney.... in summary wikipedia is crap and so are most car websites.... if you car does have an extra 7kw in the engine then its mostlikely something simple like a more straighter exhaust than the 140kw ones or came standard with better spark plugs.... something small like that... also you should have checked the car out properly before you bought it, make sure you do next time because you dont want cars taken off you because they are linked to being rebirthed....
  19. they should do it,,,,, loosing 3 demerit points for anything under 30 is rediculous but if your doing over 30+ its only an extra 1 demerit point...... also the fines are stupid, under 10km/h should be a small fine and small demerit loss, 9 times out of 10 your not intentionally speeding.... but there should be some sort of punnishment to remind motorists. anything from 30+ really should be a heavy fine and a heavy demerit loss (which it already is)... but on todays system if your weighing up the odds of speeding and getting caught, i'd be going as fast as i can since the Under 15km/h is already too harsh, alittle more cash and a slightly worse demerit record doesnt really bother anyone if the lesser penalty is nearly as bad as the worse penalty (except for some instances of suspension)... the current system is a fail, it encourages speeders to speed more coz they know the 3 demerit point loss of under 15km/h isnt much different from 4 demerrit point loss of 45km/hr+++++
  20. i been in the shire over the weekend, i wasnt looking for it but i didnt notice any busted tail lights on some shitty shire utes.... but i'll keep an eye out for it... the tail light would be repaired the next day so without the number plate your sorta stuffed.... terrible to hear by the way, hope we catch the bastard anyway.... and where abouts at gymea bay? he probably lives down there somewhere....
  21. its gotto do with back pressure of the exhaust if its related to the cannon, was the old reonator removed and replaced with the canon? ive got a feeling its the 02 sensor and the ecu combined, I had the same problem in a manual r33 gts-t. My solution was partly due to a number of things... i cleaned AFM, Changed spark Plugs, Cleaned throttle body.... gained alittle more power and car stopped stalling, but it would still drop almost to a stall at roundabouts and stuff.... i ignored the problem since it didnt complertely stall anymore and just thought its an old engine.... i changed the 02 sensor from the original nissan one to an EL falocon 02 sensor for $70 from repco, cut the wires and tied them together and replaced the old one....not only did i gain an extra 100-200km/tank but to my surprise my revs stayed constant at idle and never dropped below 700rpm no matter how i drove it... most likely your 02 sensor is broken coz they meant to be changed every 40 000km anyway. you will spend $70 on a falcon one like i did or $200ish for nissan replacement part, either way you will definately get your money back by saving fuel over a few months... see if that works, and if it doesnt, the money you save from fu3el with the 02 sensor will help you to pay a profesional to find the prob... its located at the beginning of your exhaust pipe just after the engine....
  22. no idea if its the same in r33's as 32's but when i have my vents closed alittle bit they whistle as i increase the fan speed..... if you got time pull it apart slowly and carefully and its probbaly something blowing in the wind..... other than that i personally wouldnt bother about it unless it sounds to you that the fan is on its last legs or the AC is about to die.... i dont use AC or Fan often unless its raining and windows start to fog up.....
  23. debt while your studying for a car that will most probably have serious problems in the future is not a smart thing to do.... most of our imports have been thrashed to the shit house over in japan even before they get here, the km's are always wrong so you should at least do the 100 000km service on what ever car you get no matter if the odometer says its under or over 100 000km's. before uni i worked full time + a shit load of overtime to buy my car out right, have enough for insurance, and an extra Few thousand incase something went wrong. Also if you borrow on the car and something gos wrong a month down the track, can you afford to be paying for a car that needs repairs, aswell as repayments on the car, aswell as complete your uni without failing subjects and work enough to keep earning $300/week???? once you get into this cycle you are f*ked... and your at uni right, lets say RAS1983's calculations are correct.... uni books arn't cheap, don't know about you but last year i spent nearly $1000 just on uni books, depends on your uni, subjects and if you can get 2nd hand ones or not.... your young and have friends that want to do things, go to movies, have something to eat, petrol, possible girl friend.... bla bla bla general maintenance of the car, turbo cars shud have oil change every 5000km, plus regular servicing, tyres from anywhere of $80 each or more, brake pads, then the good bit come in a year later, ctp green slip, most people pay around $600, i got mine down to $300, insurance again, rego, pink slip (assuming it passes). I garantee you will be in the red, and if you don't you will either sell the car anyway and waste allot of money or be a slave to working more hours and increase the risk of getting sick more often, common colds, glandular fever (you'll be off work for a month nearly) general stress...
  24. 6.1 hemmi of a 300c is awesome, only draw back is its weight but the brakes are adequate and suspension isnt as sloppy as i thought it would have been. I'd rather spend the money on a v8 300c instead of its main australian rival the Statesman which costs more than the 300 and it drives like it should.... an old mans fart. there is really nothing we can get in Aus that is like the 300c and definately not for value for money. If you want something that goes decent and can take to the track, get a jap import,,,,, if you want luxury, scare 4wd's on the road and you like to be in comfort while you drive on the highway, i'd definately get the 300c.... fuel cost aside lol Actually now that i think about it only cars that are as big as it and perform similar are the bigger saloon style merceedes, 7 series bmw's, audi a8's, the 4dr bentley sports things..... mind you all of these cars start at around $200 000 for the basic models.... where as the 6.1 hemmi 300c top of the range is under $80k, also you can squeez them down coz their desperate... Also i think the 300c is a good car and surprised me is because its not an american car at all.... its made in Austria!!!! so thats why i loved every second of it... still i rather my skyline lol but if i was offered one at half price i'd definately find the money for the 6.1L 300c.
  25. not a line but spotted a black stag on penno road at 2:50pm also some one at work bout a blue Mitsubishi Evo X MR, hot hot hot little toy car...
