it didnt leak for about the first 40km, but then i could hear it when i drove next to a wall or in a shopping centre, then it soon became noticable when driving in the open.... also i could only get 4 of the 6 on due to the design of the dump pipe and then was told by the makers of the piece to take it off and evenly bolt it back up..... then as i was trying to unbolt the dump the bolt snapped at the top, i bolted the remaining 5 up and it was leaking the same as before, probably because it was at the top of the dump pipe and there isnt really a another one that could take over its job.... if you know what i mean?????? oh well i guess its a big learning curve for me

I'm Abit Of A Tight Ass, Can I Borrow A 90degree Drill?
Kujotk replied to Kujotk's topic in New South Wales
13mm is pretty strange to use fullstop on a car or a motorcycle..... i have never come across a 13mm head on any of the cars ive fiddled around with and never ever used one on a motorcycle, and i used to work at a motorcycle shop..... oh well atleast my dads 13mm sockets and spanners are in new condition lol it should be all good though, i tried to get it out today with different methods (none involving a drill coz i dont have the drill) and the bastard wont budge.... i have bitten the bullet and am getting an overpriced pro to do it for me..... also i'll get an oil change at the local mechanics and while hes got it jacked up or on a hoist i'll bolt up the exhaust at the same time..... For intrests sake the boys at MIDAS in castle hill industrial were very helpful, gave me a few tips and even gave me high tensile replacement bolts with springs and washers (which i recon should have been on the car anyway from nissan) for free which was good of them... alternative was wait for nissan to send up 4 bolts from victoria.... -
I'm Abit Of A Tight Ass, Can I Borrow A 90degree Drill?
Kujotk replied to Kujotk's topic in New South Wales
thanks mitch its a 13mm head not sure bout thread though -
yeah i decided to either find a 90degree drill and just drill the bastard untill its out and probably stuff the thread and use another nut and bolt instead, or pay the guy who does it for a living $140...... probably end up paying the thread nazi his $140..... to my surprise he knew what the problem was as soon as i told him its a skyline lol recons he does atleast one a week

i was wandering is there any benefit to putting an aftermarket exhast manifold like one showed here? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Exhaust-manifold-Ni...1QQcmdZViewItem obviously i doubt this one is a good one but for a good version of something like this what power gains would a fairly stock gtst expect from this? also how hard is it to put in??? cheers

went from 2002 kia rio with 130,000km (hard life) to a 96 r33 gts-t with aparrently 66k on the clock, but in all fairness the skyline is allot bettr condition, all the electricals work, no probs other than general maintenance like a clutch, 02 sensor, spark plugs, the turbo-dump pipe bolt that i snapped today...... the kia has had stalling probs, brake caliper that was stuck on, changed the wheel bearings at 70k but needed it at 50k, light bulbs blown allot includeing the cabin...... so a 96 nissan is better than an 02 kia... i couldnt be happier

thought i would share with you guys since were on the topic....... couple of years ago me and my dad were driving down church street at parra when these fully sicks in a pretty nice civic pulled up alittle infront of us but in the next lane, the subbs going, tracksuits, baseball caps and what have you...... noticed new tyres and rims on the car aswell.... also noticed when they accelerated from the lights there front passenger wheel came off, the front of the car slammed into the road and the tyre actually ripped the whole of the side pannel and bonnet asif it were aluminium foil......... pretty funny, also the wheels were probably stolen and karma got them back lol

well had good results with the el falcon 02 sensor,,,, did 100KM and used 1/8 of the tank guide.... usually i would have already used 1/4 and in reality i have driven the car alittle harder than usual..... after these results i have broken a bolt so the exhaust is leaking pretty bad and i did 25km and am now nearing the 3/4 mark..... so with the early results the el falcon 02 sensor seems to be working..... but i have learnt that a badly leaking exhaust seems to be giving me alittle less power and using more fuel.... atleast the 02 sensor is working lol

well i have snapped of an exhaust (turbo-dump pipe) bolt on my r33 gtst while changeing my exhaust from a cat back to a turbo back...... while calling a few of those mobile thread and bolt repairers this seems to be a common problem on r33's and even worse on r32's. Because of my tight assness i didnt go and buy wd40 ($4) and i left my RP7 at ABO BOB's place last saturday. Ive been Quoted $140 from one guy to take out the broken bolt and he should be able to do it without taking the turbo out of the car. Another guy quoted me $180 to take it out and also replace the other bolts with new stronger bolts but i have to take the turbo out of the car for him to do it. what i want to do is try to dril the bugger out myself without takeing the turbo out (which can be done because luckily its the top bolt that broke) and not paying for someone elses time. Failing that i'll have to get the $140 guy to do it so does anybody want to lend me this drill, better if it can drill in reverse???? and i'll throw in the reverse drill bits that i use because i shouldnt need them again.... hopefully and has anyone done this before????

while trying to undo my dump pipe this afternoon the bloody bolt snapped and most of the thread is stuck inside the turbo threaded hole, there is a few millimeters of thread hanging out the turbo end of the whole..... how can i get this out or who who can do it in sydney for a decent price???? also could i just drill the f**ker out and put a nut and bolt and washers instead???? need help as this is my daily car cheers

thought id share my news I had a pretty eratic idle when i got my car, would sometimes even stall..... i have fixed the problem for me and mabey for you aswell.... cleaned the throttle body, new spark plugs, new oil and filter, cleaned the afm and changed a leaky pipe..... the idle got allot better but it wasnt perfect, instead of having an idle that would change anywhere from stall to 1000 rpm it now has gone to withing 600-700rpm but there was still 100rpm of play.... recently i have changed my exhaust to a full 3inch turbo back exhaust and in the process i changed the 02 sensor, i belive somehow one of these things has now made my idle stay smack on 650rpm with no changes at all.... i think it may have been the 02 sensor that fixed the prob completely hope this helps some people

im looking for new front tyres, my options are cheap no names for $200 a pair but guy recons they very good grip wise.... looking at federal 595's for 235/45/17 roughly $400 balanced, fitted and wheel alignment. Goodyear eagle F1's about $500 for 2 balanced fitted, wheel alignment at parra road lichardt and Aus best And Tempe said f**k both them tyres and go for Khumo for $370 balanced fitted and wheel algnment. What im getting at is: Is Tepmpe tyres correct by saying these Khomos are better and cheaper than the goodyears and the Federals?????? i dont know who to trust..... cheers

ok results may take longer than expected,,,,, since i changed the 02 and the dump/front pipes at the same time i am driving the car alittle harder due to the fact that the sound of the exhaust is better and i love hearing it and the performance is noticable improved...... it may take a few weeks to settle down and start driving the car as a granny again to compare the fuel consumption issues with the new 02 sensor....... however today i drove from castle hill - manly today via monavale road and back which is a good 80-100km round trip with detour and the petrol droped about 1/8th of a tank, yes this was mainly highway or main road driving but i did gun it a few times so i do belive in the early days that there is some kind of fuel economy improvvement but i will only truely know when i put a whole new tank into it on wednesday and drive it to my usual regime... to be continued

spotted a silver r33 going down monavale road at about 11:30 at st ives also a very nice black and very very clean r32 driving around manly at about 12

well sarkis we got more people comming, set a date that is realistic for yourself and at $50 im sure there will be a decent turn out, not to mention the extra publicity.... and if worse come to worse and you dont think there will be enough people just cancel it..... im wandering how many *killer wasps* mine will get now... also a confirmed date will give you a better indication of how many people will come....
-
when you changed the coils did you put good spark plugs in at the same time????
-
also change oil, change spark plugs, clean AFM..... also 500 is alittle low for idle... should be 650-750ish..... i had that problem when revs were at 2k and then droped it to neutral, sometimes it would stall....... i did what i said and cleaned aac valve and stopped stallinng prob.... although i can see my car idle still plays around a little... but doesnt stall anymore

hahah yeah its on the bin,,,, i'm comming over to get it.... didnt want to get my car dirty
