  1. Thats why I went sick on my 9 second Drag R33 GTR and turned it into a circuit car for private track days, and will leave my R35 in street tune (interior wise anyway!) so I cant get in to grief if I do find myself on the side of the road with an admirer. Funny thing is these days I can get over 500 kw at wheels out of the R35 while it still looks stock and the R33 is a fire breathing monster at that power level. My old R33 "street GTR" was runing 450 awkw and used to rock at the traffic lights like it was on something. I remember a few years ago pulling up at the lights next to a cop bike and he just pulled up his helmet and shook his head at me.... respect! I wish I could get my R35 to cam over like that at the lights.
  2. Ha Ha thats hilarious, personally I find that my glock fits well in the side pouch for those times when my drive thru breakfast at Hungry Jacks is just taking too freaking long, and when they really cant get their act together I just pop my boot lid where I have my AK47 nicely mounted so I can bust a cap............ America...........Fu^k yeah.....
  3. Yes painting one would be a big hassle I agree. None of the R35s advertised are moving. I sold mine for $115000 and just got lucky with the perfect buyer. Why dont you make the guy in NSW with the black one at $125000 a low offer? Worst he can do is say no! M3s are nice cruise car for everyday use but that 400nm is just SO soft. I had a young buyer test drive my tuned R35 and it scared him so he bought an M3. Soft option........... Here is the best colour.
  4. 3500kg tow capacity - great for towing race cars!
  5. Face off. R33 is like " you think your so great - lets get out to the track to see who's boss!"
  6. Face off in the shed! Check out that metallic!
  7. No - there are heaps of Red ones for sale (10 up on car sales) He not too fussed if he doesnt sell it.
  8. Finally got around to taking a photo of it!
  9. The JDMs are pretty tough, you would be unlucky to have problems with transmission and they are not that dear to fix (unless you grenade it completely!) The HSV is a nice cruise car but not anywhere near the league of the R35 GTR. I never worried about factory warranty when I bought my 2008 R35 and other than a broken synchro ring (which was unusual and just bad luck) that car never missed a beat. I tracked it a number of times and drove the ring out of it up in the hills and it just loved it - thats what these cars are built for. I have heard stories of GTRs that are babied and never taken out of auto mode and they seem to have more issues with trans then the hard driven ones. Case in point - Keir's Willall racing GTR. That would have to be the most thrashed R35 in the country. It has spent hundreds of hours out at Mallala being taken to its limits and still has the original transmission going strong!!!. Besides, if a factory part does break wouldn't it be better to upgrade it and put something better in anyway! You could always buy that cheap white JDM in Qld and just paint it!
  10. I think a much more sound investment would be to buy a 2010 R35 GTR brand new from one of the dealers still with 2010 stock to move and have awesome fun driving that around, and just keep the rest in the bank till you find something better than property to invest in......... Or you could just go for it and buy a nice low kay Lamborghini Gallardo....... with a tow bar to tow a campertrailer to live in when your missus divorces you! Second thoughts.dont listen to me!
  11. Goodbye BMW X5 - Hello New Land Rover Discovery 7 seater.
  12. Have you driven a BMW X5? I just bought a new Land Rover Discovery 4 for my wife ( I know thats not a Range Rover but there must be a lot of crossover gear) The biggest difference I noticed from the X5 ( I have had a number of BMWs) is the ride is much nicer in the land rover. If you want a smooth comfortable ride and like the boxy look, then Range rover is nice car. Personally I dont like the steering/handling or throttle response compared to the X5. The Beemers are so much more sporty, handle better and because they are about 400kgs lighter they just blow the rovers into the weeds! My 2c
  13. I am now waiting for my new midpipe and updated 2011 COBB tune. Will be interesting to see what difference it makes to DBA GTR.
  14. Yes we really need someone on the north side of town, just be too hard coming all the way from down south everyday - would drive you mad! Sorry an apprenticeship wont work for us, we need someone who can jump right in with problem solving and take the load off my brothers shoulders straight away. Thanks for the PMs, will keep posted up till take on the right person.
  15. As above, we are looking for a full time auto electrician to work with our family caravan and motorhome business. Some sales experience and general handyman experience would help. Interest in skylines and race cars would also be good as this position may entail the odd trip out to mallala as crew member! We are not interested in a short term employee, rather someone who fits in well with our business and is looking for a stable long term position. Anyone interested please PM me for more details if you are serious.
  16. Hey Richard, yes its amazing how they can improve on what was a fabulous car already. I took it for my first good drive in the hills today and I can feel the difference in the car. Its very surefooted and the smoothness of the ride and the transmission makes it a real pleasure to drive. We have some great driving roads in the Adelaide hills and this is certainly an awesome car to enjoy them in. One thing that strikes me though is how good value the 09/10 cars will be now. For those that have not driven an R35 before the difference to the 2011 model wont matter, and as there are still "new" 2010 CBA models in showrooms which will have to be run out that will mean some really good deals - particularly now coming up to the end of June. The dealers will have to consider low offers or they will get stuck with them.
  17. Glad 10 news never spotted me coming home from Sydney last week.........
  18. I keep spotting my GTR out the front too! It is affecting my work - might have to leave it in the shed tomorrow. Yeah, channel 10 were funny. They just bombed in and wanted to ask me about the Winnebago motorhomes. I said - hey you want some real news? Check out that Blue R35 out the front. The first one in Adelaide! The young camera man seemed excited. Peter Sellers was like...whatever.
  19. Yes, and what a blue it is. Its parked out the front now. You might see it on your way home!
  20. And there goes ALL the silver..........It was only a matter of time for the CARBON KING!!!
  21. You had me at Titanium! Hmmm...400... Not the number I had in mind, but I'm sure it will do for a while!
  22. I recently picked up my new R35 GTR and went for a nice long drive to bring it home. After doing nearly 20000km in my 2008 JDM model with light mods I got to know that GTR quite well over the last 2 years and it was a hard decision to sell that car as I really liked it. I had read all the articles about the changes to the DBA model but was a bit unsure if it would feel much different in the real world. Wow was I wrong! They may as well have called it the R36 because it is a vastly improved car. The new GT Blue is an amazing colour. From some angles, and in the shade, it looks like a flat navy blue - but when the sun hits it the metallic sparkle is awesome and the deepness of the pearl is brilliant. Under Fluro lights it looks amazing especially around the edges (which this car has plenty of!) and it does not seem to hide the shape as much as the black colour does. I love the new wheels and they really show off the slightly bigger brakes. I have never really been into the LEDs but it does look good at night. The new interior is a big jump over the older model. The seats seem more comfortable and the overall finish of the dash with its new carbon panels and MFD is excellent. Its also cool to be able the read all the buttons and the Sat Nav chick sounds much nicer than the Japanese one that screeched at me before! The biggest WOW factor for me was the smoothness of this new car. The ride is more forgiving and somehow feels even more glued to the road without some of the harshness that my JDM had. My old transmission had the clutch pressures lifted and that may have caused it to feel a bit more brutal, but the DBA is as smooth as silk. I could really use this as a daily driver where I dont think I could have put up with the 08 model! Luckily I found a closed off section of private road and under controlled circumstances I could proceed to confirm the increased aerodynamics on this model. Ah, yep it is very slippery............ I was also surprised that the power feels similar to my old GTR even though that had midpipe and COBB. Be very interesting to see how the same mods might affect the new car. Overall I am hugely impressed with it. Nissan have managed to turn a really good car into a truly great sports car. It was hard to let go of the old one, but turned out to be the right decision. I am going to have a great time getting to know this car......... See you all out there..
