I think these cars all vary a bit but I had Cobb with Willall custom tune and just a midpipe ages ago and gained almost 25% power at the wheels. Its hard to work out flywheel horsepower exactly but this claim does sound quite realistic. I have not had a chance to go in Keirs R35 since he put the new "built" engine and turbos on it, but with over 500 awkw that makes it approx 80% increase over std power! Totally amazing cars. And they can hook up the power which makes them all the more impressive. I am sure they are plenty of commodores and falcons cruising around with 500kw at the wheels these days, but whats the point if you can't put it down?

Thats just a classic. Well they always say if you dont fly off the track at some stage you are just not trying hard enough. Welcome to the hard club Seb!!! Good effort. BTW - do we get to see the rest of that footage soon. As production designer I demand it............... Congrats on the 13s mate - I knew you had it in you. I'll look forward to getting out there and rubbing door handles with you soon. Martin, you must be pleased to see this weapon out there pulling the times. I will have to join the porsche club - looks like a lot of fun. Willall racing at the porsche day. 1 2 and 3. Domination. I like that. Maybe they should call it - Come out and get thrashed by a Nissan GTR day! hahaha

Awesome. Straight from the showroom, to the workshop, then the track within a week! Rockin. What great cars they are & LOVE the Gun metal. Definately my favourite colour (until the blue one comes out that is!)
-
HA HA. Good one. Slip, you know I love your GTR.

Good Thread..... I went option 3 for my R35 as I already have an off its face R33 GTR for the track. There is no point having 2 track cars & I love being able to take both of them out to private track days. I usually have a few goes in the R35 while my R33 is having a rest! I love my lightly modified R35 for spirited hills driving but find it a bit heavy at the track compared to my stripped out R33 GTR. Still have great fun driving it though. Definately the weapon of choice for those guys that need a dual purpose street/track car. Anyone else that is considering stripping out their ADM R35 should maybe look at selling it & turning a JDM into the track only car instead. The MFD on the JDM is heaps better, I dont like the "pacman" looking poverty pack resolution on the ADMs. Shame they did that! Will be keen to drive the new updated 2011 model to see what the changes are like. I am a sucker for a blue gtr..................

Fungoolie, I will have some Dunlops for you fairly soon.

That white one from SA had done a "pole vault" with its tailshaft after Main North forgot to tighten the bolts after its first service! Ouch. Not surprised that one took a while to sell. Its always going to be a sellers market when there are such a small amount of cars for sale. Only 20 or so right now. They are such great cars, so they are worth the money owners are asking for them. I would not sell mine under $130000. What the hell would I replace it with for that sort of money that would touch it for performance, style or pose factor? I took my R33 out to the track recently & on a damp track with worn slicks I was around the 1.16s & I was getting into it. There were 2 Ferrari Scuderias there & I was sitting with them comfortably. Later I took my R35 out for a go & with the air con on & metallica blasting I was pulling the same 1.16s! Great cars!

Hmmm. not sure about that, makes the ass look real fat. Cool on a warm night down rundle, but what will it handle like at Mallala now?
-
44000km in one year! I wish I got to drive my car that much! Be interesting to see how nice it drives compared to a normal low kay example. Mine is nearly 3 years old now with barely 14000km on it. Not exactly my favourite car for a daily drive/commuter. Either that or this particular GTR has done LOTS of dyno work!!! Not the best colour either in my opinion........
-
Heres what the R34 looks like with the roof off! Wonder what the R35 would look like? Shame about that car, at least you are now getting the BEST colour!
-
This thread was a toss right from the start. GT2 are nice. GTR are nice. Just get one & spend some time thrashing it. Everything else is just hot air.........
-
Sick photos. Vids anyone? Would have been awesome if we could of had the Gibson 32s, the R35s etc out on the track together! Shame about your R35 Seb, was keen to see you fly!

Yeah, I had a ball. Even had an off road escapade!

Munro replied to R.Ware's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
You could always sell them over there & buy Australian built ones that are all compliant & ready to go. I may even be able to help with that depending on what you want..... -
Martin. Awesome work. Brilliant mods that all make sense. Demon33. Get off the R35 section. Tosser.

I'll try to come, might even fill out the SAU form too!

Yes, for a track only car, the Radical is an amazing machine. If the R35 is a dragon fly then the Radical SR8 is a blow fly on crack! The brilliance of the R35 is you can race it on Sunday & drive it to work on Monday. You cant "get" what the R35 is about from being a passenger. You need to get a few kays under your belt driving on good roads that you know & just like a fine wine, the flavour just keeps getting better & better as you get to know the car & start pushing it up to its limits. Not many drivers would get any where near what it can do, especially on the street! For anyone looking for a tough street car that can be used regularly as transport & then blast in the hills or track on weekends then there isnt a better weapon of choice than the R35 GTR.

Hey Richard. Dude, put it this way. We ordered one. Right there. What a track. What a car. %$^$ me. I love my R33. I love my R35. But they have great big fat arses compared to the Radical & my brother & I Just had to have one. The SR3 was fun but lacked the punch/sound we were looking for so.............bring on the Full tilt Radical SR8 LM with 480hp 2.8L V8. Chuck in the air shift paddle gearbox, larger 300mm brakes all round, air jacks built in, full data logging package, extra set of those sexy wheels & we are talking. Yep. Its already built & in the container & should be here by end of next month. The dollar vs pound was right & Radical UK was excited about this order so gave us a great deal. 360kw. 650kg. Positive downforce (they can drive upside down in a tunnel like a formula one car!). Whats up? 2 seats so we can make each other sick. What are brothers for? Garth Waldren can go 1.27 at Eastern Creek in the SR8. Bring it on. We will keep it at Eastern for at least 3 months to paly with it there before bringing it back to Adelaide to attack Mallala. Will let you know when we are there so you can come out for a look. When we drive over to pick it up I want to bring my R33 track car to have a go at that track. I had never been on it before & it is a dream track for big power car like my R33. I have 1300kg (twice the radical!) but 900hp (also twice the radical!) so that will be interesting to see if can keep up with my brother. Bonsai................ BTW. $25000 more to have the fun of the R35 NOW vs waiting for the possibility of a $100k R35 in 12 months? Na. If you cant afford it now, you wont afford it then, Just do it!

E85 is the bomb! I have not got around to tuning my R35 for it yet, but had my R33 set up for it a few years ago & is a brilliant modification. Made the car quieter, smoother, & more powerful. Is definitely the way to go for the street/track road going weapon. Well done LSX. Welcome to the 10 sec club. Back in the day I used to run flat 10 at the same mph (in an old holden!) so goes to show the top end power of these new cars(& they turn corners & stop too!) Keep up the good work - great to see you out there having so much fun.
-
They were ripping up all the bitty along Port Wakefield road before Bolivar today so if you can bypass this bit it might save you some stonechips. Might just be heading southbound on way back so check it out - if you can come out from kings road you will miss the mess....... Have a good day out there guys.

I have only been out once with my new Michelin Slicks on my R33 & the difference was amazing. It totally transformed my car & I cant wait to get out there again on them. My car is a bit overpowered so it was awesome to be able to power down out of the corners without going sideways every time. It will be interesting to see how long they last. I went with soft compound as we usually only do 5-6 laps at a time.
-
Yours looks tuff Andrew - loving those wheels..........
-
Yes, I wish they would open up AIR again........ we would see 300 down that long straight no problems. Now THAT would be FUN! I love my R35. Is definately a fun car, although a bit compromised for everyday driving (for my taste anyway). Luckily I only need to drive it when I want to! Is a huge blast at the track, but I do find it a bit heavy compared to my R33 GTR. I did a Radical test drive day at Eastern Creek recently (my first time at that track) & thought how much fun the R35 would be there being a larger/faster track than Mallala. Cruising in the R35 is like rollin with an uzi on your lap - every now & then you just want to spray....... My advise is BUY ONE.
-
Hey stranger, not seen you for long time! Saw you at meet for 6am cruise but thought you were coming so could catch up later, oh well, next time. Got all your wheel nuts on tight now? ha ha...... Good to see some of the original members still on here, you are one of the rare few who joined before me! Cheers, John

Thanks Sled, I am real keen to catch up & watch some video of my GTR. As far as I know, Prestige Walkerville sold the first 2 or 3 R33 GTRs that were imported into Adelaide. The first was my Street GTR which was purchased by Doug Dinan back in 1998 ( I bought it off him in 2001) & now my mate Mike Fox owns it ( He will bring it out on the next track day) The next was another silver R33 in 1999 that got written off hard core on GJ road in 2002. Then my Race R33 which was a total stocker down to the original tyres. Of course since then they started coming in by the boatload but back in the day they were a quite rare & very expensive car & thats why Prestige dabbled with a few clean low kay examples before all the little car yards jumped on the bandwagon. Just doing 2 sessions in my R35 & pulling a few 16s was enough to write off my Bridgestones (although they werent in the best shape to start with!) Mallala is VERY hard on tyres.
