My ER34 has the HKS SSQV and isnt plumb back, never had any problems at all.

Yeh mine squeel when im moving slowly... but its not those little chirps u can get from new brake pads i mean its a screeching sound. RBT on a Friday Morning! whats the world coming too?
-
So when I got my car brakes were squeeling. Since then I have had, 1. front brake pads replaced to a non metal compound (still squeeling) 2. so then the brake discs machined (stopped squeeling but now the rears have started) 3. was told the rears needed to be machined as well (so got them machined and there still squeeling) 4. then was told i need to get rid of the metal compound brake pad on the back (removed an still squeeling) in amoungst all of that I have had a brake caliper fall off why I was driving because the mechanic didnt tighten the bolts back up on it, the car is pulling left when I brake. Tyre Zone capalaba have made a few stupid mistakes, they have attempted to put there best foot forward and correct any mistakes that have been made and I can respect that. But the quality of work is poor and I wouldnt recomend anyone living in the capalaba area to trust them with your vehicle. But that is beside the point of why I posted. What should my next step be? Id rather not hafto go get a whole new brake setup with slotted rotors etc... but if thats what I hafto do to stop the problems with my car then I guess I will jsut go get it done. As for the car pulling left, I hope its just bad wheel alignment, but nothing would surpise me now.

umm. mines got a blue LED light. The light use to flash when the car was locked and the alarm was set. Now the blue light doesnt flash at all it just stays on, armed or not armed, until i put the key into the ignition then the light goes off. As for the key to use on the alarm under the bonnet. I didnt seem to get one off the previous owner when I recieved the car. And Im not sure who installed the alarm either as it was on the car when I got it. Also dont have the manual for the alarm. The alarm still works, it just doesnt beep when i lock or unlock the car. Which I guess isnt the important factor of having the alarm just one of those annoying little things.

Got a Viper car alarm that has stopped beeping when i lock or unlock the car. The car has been into a Tyre Place to get new wheels put on it and a few things done with the breaks and since I got it back it has stop making the single beep when the car gets locked and the double beep when the car is unlocked. Is there any simple way to fix this problem quickly? Will my alarm still go off if the car is hit or broken into? Cheers ~Sammy

Im just about to start dealing with APC racing and they seem like a rally friendly bunch of guys, also herd nothing but good things from brother in law and others regarding the quality of there work. Another is Fist Performance at Waycol. Dad use to deal with them in his old R34 there good bunch of guys and know there stuff.
-
Slightly off topic, but been told that the limited addition 34 gtt's came with gold badging, does this also include the upgraded turbo etc?
-
HAHA chances are if I get it done at my dads old mechanic at waycol I could prob get 2 for one done.

So im going to change the ECU in my car and this should be happening within the next week. Before I go speaking to mechanics just like to get some first hand advice. So the cars Automatic, what types of ECU's are out there that will work well with an Automatic, would rather an ECU I dont need to replace the AFM with like a haltech but does the e11v2 do automatics? Im looking at spending between 1500 - 2500.
-
The car currently has, FMIC, AVCR boost controller, 3" kakimoto exhaust from the turbo, Pod and evrything is all done. Bosch 040 Fuel Pump, and Fuel regulator + Haltech ECU have had cash put aside including cost for fitting etc. Mainly just curious about the prices for the turbo and installation. But if theres anything else you can recommend doing for the safety of the engine it would be greatly appreciated.

Just wondering if anyone can give me a general estimate on what the cost of labour for a gt2535 turbo installation. Its on a R34 Neo Engine. Anyone who has had one installed and can let us know what they paid for the turbo and install + dyno. Please Ignore my terrible spelling.... haha

The only time I've ever been pulled over for an "offence" as such was trying to get some guys number plate that hit my car, an inscident which the cops observed and ignored. The guy hit my car and ran for it... I didnt even commit an offence as such, was'nt hooning, didnt take off at an accesive rate, I was in a rush to get the guys number plate but I didnt commit an offence. So im not bitching and whingeing about being done for an illegal act. Im bitching because the cop didnt do his job. My post wasnt directed at the people who commit illegal offences or break the law and cop it... they deserve what they get. But people driving performance cars that dont get targeted or pulled over just for the car they drive is a small and lucky minority. I can name over ten incidents where I have been in a mates car and they have been pulled over, drug searched, license checked, engine checked, etc etc and the list goes on and on for no reason but there young, there in an nice car, they arnt hooning so lets get em for something else. Theres a big diference between being pulled over for doing the wrong thing, and being pulled over for doing or trying to do the right thing.

The problem is even the people who are not labelled "Hoons" who enjoy driving there pride posetions (in the case of this website skylines) are target for modifications etc. My own father (a 47 year old man) was defected on his r34 skyline while doing nothing wrong for minor things such as a BOV not plumb back and unsecure pod. He was target for the type of car he drove, and im damn sure the police didnt expect to see an older guy behind the wheel, but they fined him anyways. I believe its no longer about road fatalities (I'm sure somewhere along the line someone had good intentions to stop hoons at play) but they have expanded there policing of the situation towards ALL performance car drivers. Now I'm not claiming to know the answer of how to fix the hooning problems, and I've seen numerous websites asking us non offenders to assist in reporting the Hoons, but Im not going to go reporting incidences to a police officer if his gana say, "THNX for letting us know, now would you mind popping your bonnet so I can defect your vehicle" QLD may be the Hoons state, but I've seen mums in mini vans do stupider things than a burnout in an empty carpark. (I've seen mums in mini vans do stupider things than a burnout in an empty carpark.) - didnt come out properly lol but u get my jist. Just my 2 Cents.

So here is what happened to me today. So im parked at a servo today blah blah blah finished filling up my OLD POS Honda legend with fuel and im inside paying. I look out at the window at some old timer who has attempted to fit between my car and a petrol bouser and has pritty much taken the paint, bumper bar, and rashed the entire side of my car and he takes off down the road. I've run out got in my car to to take off and get him number plate (Not at an accessive speed, but my wheels did spin chirp as i came out of the driveway of the servo) Little did I know, there was an undercover cop car beside me and before I know it he has pulled me over and is giving me a run down on accessive noise and hooning. He saw the the bloke hit the side of my car, ignored it and has pulled me over for a minor offense. Now I didnt think about it at the time but as he explained to me service station have video footage 24 hours a day, fair enough... but the minor offender in this situation was the one that was punished because of this whole hoon situation and I'm a younger looking bloke. Theres a level of policeing (cant spell) I find fair enough, the level that stop people drifting on public roads and doing excessive speeds etc, but then theres the police that wanto play hero in public and pull over someone who has a clean record and has unitentionally "squeeked" a wheel leaving a driveway. If I had spun my wheels the whole way up the road, fine pull me over but I've seen disabled people commit worse offenses in there motorized wheel chairs than what I did today. Quite angry about the whole thing really. On the brighter it was my POS daily car that got hit.

Ill be there in my 34 granting I have it by then (which I should)

Was wondering if anyone had knows general estimates on having an R34 interior redone? Not some much standard but a custom looking interior in white vinyl or w/e it is they use.
-
got a 89 Honda legend under my name atm with RACQ, they wouldnt insure me for new car, so i phoned Just cars. $1275 A year on a turbo r34 skyline, they also put me on a rating 2 on my opens and I skipped all that P plate crap, but its pritty much the same amount my dad was paying on his with a rating 1, 2 or so years ago so im stoked. I have been driving for 5/6 years or so.

Yeh I'm not sure wether there jsut wernt bedded properly, as they were on the car when i got it, but are only a few days old. Prob jsut get new pads, the rotors are fine... as I said further up, use to do tire fitting/suspecion and brakes so know what to look for with the rotors and made sure on the car before i bought it that iw asnt going to hafto go out and buy a whole new brake/rotor setup. Think I'll just get new brake pads, mate of mine who I havent spoken to for a while owns a 33, took me for a drive the other day and his brake pads were the same, found out he also has bendix ultimates... think I wills teer clear of them from now on. Anyways cheers for all the helps
