I think the engine parity thing is bullshit, why not let them run what ever engine from their manufacturers inventory and run restrictors on all of them. Ala FIA GT Racing? Seems ridiculous that Mercedes is taking a 6.3 Litre engine and destroking it to the mandatory 5.0 Litres? why is 5.0 litres even relevant? Same for Nissans VK56.

Well finally got a monkey off my back by actually finishing a Tarmac rally! Just this weekend passed I competed in the Mountain Motorsports event 'The Great Tarmac Rally'. Numbers were low, but it was still a quality field. 8 stages in total including 3 cracks in each direction of Eildon/Big River. Not to mention the Reefton Spur which was the first Special Stage ever run in the the Melbourne city council. Navving in the Too Right Automotive Evo IX we finished up 2nd Outright. I strongly urge anyone who hasn't been to one of these events to give it a go. Peter and Timmy put in a pretty good effort with a fairly modest budget and do everything off their own back. And the trophies were quite novel and different to the usual cheese platter you get everywhere else. See how the quality vs. file size goes but I would suggest 4000-8000. Try at 2000 and go up in steps of 2000 at a time. Its a pain with video's as different sources and file types respond differently Ive found.

We just took a New D4D Prado Kakadu (5speed auto) fully laden with a big tandem and WRX (atleast 2 tonne) from Melbourne to Lakes Entrance and back ~700Km. I was impressed with how easy it did it and how comfortable it was to be in.

Best free program to use is something like Free Video Coverter http://download.cnet.com/Koyote-Free-Video-Converter/3000-2194_4-10805335.html?tag=main;dropDownForm (click the direct download link). Then convert it to a format such as MP4 (MPEG4 codec), ensure the size is appropriate (IE HD 1280x720) and FPS is 25-30. Play around with the bit rate to get the quality right. You will need to stuff around for a while to find the right ratio for size vs quality, but then the file should only be a few 100 Mb at worst.
