R33 (nismo) Speedo Calibration
eeiko321 replied to some_cs_student's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yeah i had a read through that too like i mean, is it really necessary? if its slightly out...it personally wouldnt bother me. i usually know all the speed cameras around main roads of sydney. And if i dont, my TOMTOM warns me to slow down when i come to one. pretty much all of the GPS units have Sensor speedos built in... if its not totally off... im sure you could get used to it? try using your GPS or borrow one and it will give you a better idea of the sync. otherwise if you really picky... there are alot of places whom calibrate, Repair and service speedos i did a search on yellow pages for VIC, have a look through this and give them a call.... im sure people in the industry could steer you in the right direction http://www.yellowpages.com.au/search/postS...amp;x=0&y=0 -
well i dont really like Australian designed cars at all...... whether its Ford or Holdens..... The only decent Holden to me was the VL But as for Fords, i dont mind the American Fords... The Cosworth was a good car too

Are Imports Such As Skyline/supra's Unreliable?
eeiko321 replied to Fat-magz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yes it states the 904 was 130KW and the early GT-R was around 120kw........ but from then on..... porsche had really sky rocketed in performance, stock vs stock...the Successors of this particular GT-Rs couldnt compare Even the NUR V-spec could not compare with the 911 turbo or GT2 at the time. -

yeah man..... they compared the R33 GT-R on wheels magazine against the BMW M5 and late model Holden Clubsport R8.... obviously all cars had thier pros.... but the summary the GT-R was described as "its just TOO good......" so if the GT-R was an all round better car than these 2....... no need to compare the DOGZ-BALLS of a car the GTS-R -

THe R32 Australian delivered was 120,000$ to be precise... a price for a decent house back then The VH commodores SS were not as expensive as you mentioned back then.....for both your information it was only 13,000$ brand new back in 1982. and Nissan had their eyes set on the Porsche's performance 6 years ago when they built the R34 GT-R NUR.....which did not perform better than the porsches... its only till this day Nissan had triumphed and pissed Porsche off... -
well yeah... the cars fuel system ive pictured was an R34 GTR... it had a Nismo Z-tune bonnet from japan which costed 10,000 AUD$ so whoever owns this car has money... or he could be just living like a SCUM or living with his parents and blowing every penny on the car. i would personally never buy a bonnet that price...... but to some people ...the likes of DEMIR.. 10,000$ could be 1 cent in comparison to him.... yeah well he still hasnt told us why he is researching on this...

he could be rich for all you know dude.. so this may just be a cheap excercise to him... who knows... not many people on here jump straight to 500KW at the wheels... Im located in Sunny Auburn... where all the Broz and da Habibz live and the Couzzz as well...... lol The swirl tank is also called a Surge tank. here is an interesting article on a DIY surge tank http://www.ratdat.com/?p=168 as per your request... Fuel system works with the surge tank with pump... here is a Schematic diagram on the run down and which way things flow. http://www.sdsefi.com/fuelsys.gif in my picture.. the fuel pumps you see... The bottom side, where you see a Big Nut shaped bit is the INLET... and the one with the electrical terminals is the OUTLET. as N1, mentioned...there are heaps of ways in doing things.. but this particular vehicle set up ive displayed was actually on an R34 GT-R done by a very reputable tuner in sydney Croydon Racing Developments... it was running Over 500KW at all 4 wheels, HKS 25/40 turbochargers with internal wastegates at 2.0Bar boost. with a 4-plate OS-Giken Clutch & Hollinger gearbox... it has acheived 9seconds on the quater mile. be wary at 500kw..... the stock engine internals will fry..... the GTR R32 gearbox is said to cope up to, 500kw... hope this helps cheers

as mentioned, I remember R31 Speedo adjustment was common througout the years... heres one link http://users.tpg.com.au/cobra30/R31.htm is your cluster a WHITE face 300km/h one? if so..... i spoken to a mate of mine and he seems to beleive that this particular one has a "Needle adjustment" internally -
ok RB25DET timing is as follows: 15 degrees +/- 1 Degrees, 650 +/- 50rpm ive got a simplified Workshop manual of the R33 Rb25det aroudn 20mgb which shows you how to test it if you need cheers

yeah... did you read in the paper what happend 2 days ago? Some girl.... whom is 16 years of age.. on her L's... she took her 16 or 18 year old friend for a joy ride... with her grandmothers Imprezza (unsure if it was a WRX, but probably not) she excceed speeds of 90km in residetial streets... yep.... ended up on some sort of tree i think.... (not exactly a "Palm" im guessing) killing her friend.... even though under age, she got tried at an Adult 18+ court. and may now face 10 years jail term...... that could be you chris.... or maybe even worse..this is a girl with no driving record here... since your a mechanic and got a SPECIAL permit issued to you under special circumstances from the RTA, for you.... to maintain & KEEP your JOB.............

ill have to agree with you on this one... hes right chris... saying what you said before about "buying a car like this is not for driving like a grandma" <-- this is what causes death on the roads... and not just that... f**k up other peoples wellbeing due to stupidity. Driving is pretty serious..... to alot of people its NOTHING to them.....speed.... cut through traffic.... race.... etc etc. but anything can cause harm to others. Ive went through a phase a few years ago... took on Motorcycle riding. i must say, learning how to ride really made me a Better driver... i learned many valuable lessons. and i really Recommend every driver on the road to take on motorcycle riding just as an experience and learn about safety. for e.g... *at a round about.. people just speed through... when your on a bike... i always STOP.. even for the people that are suppose to give way to me... i MAKE SURE they stop...because if someone doesnt stop?.... YOUR f**kED!!!! *Blind spots... drivers never give 2 shits... but if your on a bike... and someone cuts you off and takes you out... YOUR f**kED!!! So you make sure you dont merge lanes in someones blind spot and avoid being there all together. *Speeding, everyone does it... but on a bike... should an animal... a kid .. a car out of a drive way jumps out onto the road.. once again... YOUR f**kED!!!! Many close calls on a bike... even skidding nearly falling off due to wanker drivers. so all this made me feel that on the road i was very very Vunerable.. any little thing happens.... and my life is over or even worse.. end up crippled. Now days...driving..... it all comes natrual that i do the same as i did on the bike... to avoid all complications all together. since you got exempted...(which is a rare case....) you should really feel privaledged and respect it
-
very lucky boy you will inspire... and cause alot of jelousy lol
-
and how did you manage to get that when Thousands of others cant?! if you tell people your secret, you might...how should i say... "INSPIRE" alot of people your age here lol
-
for 500kw at the wheels...... usually thats 2 Bosch parrallel fuel pumps. Swirl tank SX adjustable Fuel regulator Apexi Power FC 1000CC injectors Fuel system should use braided hoses HKS fuel rails can handle this type of demand easily heres a typical set up.... but this is just the fuel system, you need an efficient turbo, intercooler... adjustments to the air flow systems. Decent drivetrain... usually 500kw gives you about 9 - 10 sec on the quater mile
