Well boys after the first 12 hours with the car...I must say all the hype is true...The most unbelievable car I have ever driven. It is just so connected and tight...love it. The down sides: - Changing lanes is difficult (Because everyone wants to get next to you to take photos with their phones) Luck the go fast pedal works so well. - The nose is very low, I have to reverse mine into the garage because of the very slight angle my driveway is on. The front skirt would touch if I try to go in forward. - I am very scared I will lose my license, this car is deceptively quick and any little poke of the accelerator takes you over 130km hr. (Not that I have done that yet because that would be illegal, however if I was to poke the acceletator it would do that) - The car is so fantastic that I now am going out this weekend to buy another cheaper car for everyday use, I do not want the GTR out in the rain or to use it for work.....I should have kept the 335. The up sides: - OMFG...this car is unbelievable. Beg, borrow...do whatever it takes, if you do not have one you have to get one. The best car I have driven, the most fun I have had. Cheers.

Pick up for me in 2 hours.............I probably will be gone for a couple of days......
-
What's wrong with it...looks nice...not too over done...very tasteful. If it has glowing neon lights under it at night that would be the perfect final touches......perfect for cruising through Punchbowl on a Friday night.

They can refuse to service and also refuse to warranty. Nissan Japan is not the same company as Nissan Australia. The Nissan Japan car is a different beast to the Aust car. They have no statutory requirement to support a car that is technically not theirs at all. It is not even the same spec. As such they may service it for you, but it will be an all care no responsibility scenario. They will not do recalls, nor updates or anything. I would buy the JDM import if you are looking at modding it and/or if it is very cheap. There are aftermarket companies that service them...however "Caveat Emptor". Google it if you are not sure what it means.

All insurance companies will have it listed by Lunch tomorrow. The Glass guide is uploading the final specs tonight. Pretty much all insurers rely on them for details. Happy hunting tomorrow lunch time.

Nissan will be offering insurance as of today. Contact your dealer for a quote, they are also offering finance if you need it. Cheers.

Keep an eye out in the Hills, I know of 2 cars that are being collected early next week and will be calling the hills district home. Mine being one of them . I must say I have never owned a GTR, I always admired them but they were too boy racer for me ( I am not a big fan of the doof doof stereo, the airbrushing and 24 inch wheels some people bling their cars up with) also I only keep my cars for their warranty period (This car could be different). As such an import never appealed to me. The new GTR was the exact reason why I had to have one, factory support, warranty, easy insurance, local parts. Whilst I love cars, they certainly are not my life, as such I want dealer servicing, I want someone to come pick my car up, drop off a loan car and then bring it back when it is all finished. Anyway...next wednesday...and counting.

We have been given a police escort until we get to the end of Nissan's street...after that they said we are on our own. I have a feeling my first 2000km inspection will come around very very quick.
-
Congrats, I have exactly the same colour on order, I got confirmation last night that I can take her home next Wednesday. I just sat there looking at your picture thinnking how much I cannot wait for this car to come home. It is ouring rain outside and I am wondering what to do when it rains. It is kind of convincing me to keep the 335 for everyday use. Congrats again.

Here is the Edmunds drive of the SpecV. Cheers

I have an R35 on order. It should be at the dealers as we speak being prepared. I have spoken at length with both the sales person and the service manager who has completed his GTR training. Other than the 2,000km, 12month 2 year and 3 year special maintenance services you also have a standard 10,000km 12 month Nissan warranty schedule. There are no official service costs yet, even the hourly rates have not been confirmed. They have informed me that the rates will be higher than a standard nissan (Wow no surprises there), when I quizzed them whether it would be Ferrari type pricing , they said no but it would be comensurate with vehicle type and cost. So you would be looking at about $1,200 for a standard service if that is true. Time will tell, I will let you know when the dealer tells me more, however the dealers and Nissan do themselves no favours by not releasing this information. It allows speculation to run rife, however maybe they are happy to have people speculate, that way if we are expecting a $10,000 brake pad and disk replacement then we will not complain about $7,000. Hell we may even consider this a good deal. It is all about what people expect to pay. Cheers,

The point of this thread is not to just ask why am I not getting this price, it is so people can find out where they can get insurance from. Not all companies will insure the GTR, and not all of the companies have it on their books yet. This is more of a resource so people know who to request quotes from. Shannons originally told me they would not insure the car for business use, however after a repsonse in this thread I pushed them a little more and they are getting a quote for me this morning. The point of the excerise is to find out who will insure the GTR, not so much prices, because you are right, that will vary. Cheers

Mine is a coupe. I have listed the 335 for sale but I must say the market is dead, I will probably keep it as an everyday driver and have the GTR for weekends....my only issue is garage space, I need an 8 car garage for the cars and toys.

Guys, I have some confirmed news about the waivers: If you have signed the 4 page waiver then you do not need to sign the 11 page one. I have a copy of the 11 page on and I would not sign it......especially the clause: Small scratches, etc. may be found on the wheels when your vehicle is delivered. These are due to the test drives performed for the quality validation before the delivery. Anyway, I am concerned about how much driving is done during the "Quality Validation". Other than that...no more news.

EDIT TO LIST: Shannons www.Shannons.com.au They will insure for business use, they have light and heavy business. They have to get their quotes done by their manager for this, however from what I am seeing they seem to be very cost effective and give a 10% discount if you have a CAMS license.
-
Who from, I guess what I am trying to do is get all the quotes I can, especially at $2,100 if you could PM me that would be great. Cheers.
-
They originally told me that also, however I spoke to the manager there and he got back to me after about an hour and gave me the pricing. For everyone's interest it was about $3,300 per year. Other quotes range from about $3,800 upto about $4,200.00. This is for business registration and as an everyday driver. Cheers.

I have been researching insurance for my R35 as it is due to arrive in the next 2 weeks. Anyway I thought I would pass on what I have found so hopefully it may come in handy to others in the same boat. Dawes Underwriters www.dawes.com.au Have been fantastic, they are able to provide flexible alternatives. They are one of the few insurers that will insure this car for business use, additionally they offer flexibility for occassional users as well. Shannons www.shannons.com.au They have been helpful, they will insure the car if it is not your only car. Basically suitable if the GTR is your weekend driver and you have another one for everyday use. They will not insure the car for any business use. Just Car Insurance www.justcar.com.au These guys came in with the lowest quote, HOWEVER, their excess was over $10,000 (TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS) for an accident and over $12,000 for theft. As such, they are not on my short list. NRMA www.nrma.com.au They have no official policy pricing yet, they are waiting on final specs from Nissan Australia before their underwriters will provide pricing. They do however carry the insurance across from your exisiting car if you are trading it in. This will carry and be inplace for 14 days from date of trade in. As such if you are trading a car in on the GTR then the insuarnce will transfer across with it. If you are not trading (like me) then you are basically stuck until they release premiums. I believe all other major insurers have not released premiums yet, I was not able to get quotes from any one else yet as they were in the same boat as NRMA. Insurance is based on driver aged between 30 and 35, have no accidents and a clean driving record with a maximum no claim bonus. I will update as more information comes through. Cheers.

I know what you mean, I know my car will be delivered to the dealer very early next week, however the dealer said they will not be in a position to have it "Street Prepared" for about another 10 days. It had better not have any Km's on it, I would be very very curious if people could post the Number of KM's on the clock at delivery. Let the countdown continue.
-
Anyway...on service costs...I just got off the phone to my service manager who is delivering my car and this is the upshot: - There are no finalised prices for hourly rates or parts as of yet. Hence everything we are reading is speculation, that is unless your dealer is preparing you for a right royal shafting on prices they are making up themselves.
-
Ahhh...nothing wrong with your information, only your interpretation. By your logic a vehicle is only 3 times as good if it does it 3 times as well or as fast. By your logic we should all be buying Toyota Corollas, because for $23,000 you get 0-100 in about 9 seconds. I do not know a car that is, by your logic, twice as good for twice the money eg 4.5 seconds for under $46,000. So everyone....cancel your GTR orders....we have a new supercar.... the Corolla. (Vlue for money wise) Logically you must agree that once you reach a point in performance the incremental improvements are what makes are car progressively better.
-
I agree about cheapening the look of the car by putting in an aftermarket job, however I use the Sat Nav in my 335 every day. Maybe I am just bad with directions. The spec sheet on the GTR does state: "Monitor also provides displays and interface for programmable vehicle settings, vehicle information, and audio and navigation systems" I will see if there is an aftermarket product that will interface through the screen.
-
Look we certainly understand that there are costs of setting up the dealership for service....however these costs are being more than subsidised by the dealer and delivery fees of over $10,000. Compare that to a comparitive car and you get the picture. It does not take many sales to cover their outlay. Cheers.
