  1. Medical also....what area of medical. I am on the dark side....equiment supplier I was one of those Euro snobs....the BMW marquee...but now have seen the light
  2. I must say Martin I would appreciate it it if you never show photos like that again. I promised myself that the GTR would be a car that I did not modify, however the turbo upgrade, the carbon engine cover, diff cooler and the map upgrades now have me thinking..... maybe just another 20k on mods and I could be happy.......for a while.
  3. Just get the premium and get the Red retrimmed. Couldn't be more than $1k. Regards,
  4. There are a number of things working against us here in Australia: 1) The RRP for the Premium GTR is $155,800 +Dealer Delivery, Rego etc etc. The extra money is the dealer delivery charges, in some cases up to $15,000. Whilst this may seem like alot the fact is that there are fewer dealers offering the car here than in the USA, additionally there are fewer cars here than in the USA. Originally we were to expect 200 cars in the first year, this was cut to 100 cars. 2) Our market is not as mature as the US market in terms of time since launch to now. The US has had there GTR for more than 18 months, we are only 4 months into our release still, as such deals are few and far between, especially since supply is now less. There are a couple of great deals that have been done, I know pricing as low as $160k drive away all the way up to $185k drive away, and that was before the price rises. There are deals to be done if you are at the right place at the right time and are ready to buy. I am not sure what kind of deals people hope to see here, however if you are willing to play a bit of hard ball and do your homework then you could get the pricing very low, otherwise you could be paying 25k more than your neighbour.
  5. Well done guys, very impressive times. What is Marek running in his R35, eg tyres etc?
  6. 1:44.8, that is awesome, congrats. You are seeing some great lap time improvements.
  7. That is impressive. Let us know the final times. Cheers
  8. Rehab, You are half right....I don't suck cock. Arrogant...maybe... I can live with that, but it is easy to cut down someone who has what you don't, blame the world for it.....it is everyone else fault. The post wasn't supposed to target the nerve that I hit, it was more a comment on people that speculate on what they could do with the money if they had it, however in the real world when you have the 170k to spend on a car it is very very few people who buy a second hand 80k car (Like the GTR Nur) and then pump 100k into improving it. The dig was not into what you have or don't have, it was into the real world facts of what you would actually do with the 170k if you had it. Hell you could built a 120Y datsun for under 60k that would clean up an R35 on the track, the clubman is a perfect example of a car you can get for under 30k that cleans the R35 up on a track like eastern creek. I would welcome you to venture to a track day and see what is out there. It is easy to sit behind a keyboard and tell me that I am arrogant, tell me that I can't drive etc etc, however the fact is you don't know me, it seems you draw opinions on people like you do on your cars....uninformed. The dig was not at your wealth, or what you do or don't have, it was on the real world fact that sitting and typing what you would do with 170k is completely different to what you would do if you actually had it.
  9. I know that almost every track day I go to, there is a little clubman there that hands me my ass everytime....down the straight I smash him but through the corners he just gobbles me up.
  10. You think for 170k that you could make a R34 Nur annihilate the R35...modded or not....I guess we are just lucky you will never have 170k to spend on a car then aren't we. Phew for a second we almost lived in the real world.
  11. I will throw the Gauntlet down, I am based in Sydney and would be happy to take you to task on that offer. I can set down available dates for the Creek and we can see where this leads. Eastern Creek Open Pit Lane Friday 28th August Friday 23rd October Eastern Creek Track Days Wednesday 19th August Wednesday 2nd September Wednesday 21st October Wednesday 4th November Wednesday 2nd December Let me know. Cheers, Gibbo
  12. Cheers Martin...it goes in next week and I am looking forward to the difference.
  13. I must say one thing that surprised me was the weight of the factory midpipe. It weights about 20kg, the Willall one I bought weights about 10. Congrats on the mod, I am getting the trans and diff oil replaced with the willall stuff next week. Good to hear the positive feedback. Cheers.
  14. No offence taken, I understand what you are saying, I can predict exactly when the clunk is going to happen and do know how to stop it, a mild amount of gas to allow the take up. This is all well and good if you have time....the most noticable issues I have had is when I am reverse parking on a hill or when you have to reverse out of somewhere quickly and then get it into drive before the oncoming cars get you. I love the quirks with this car, however if I could fix anything this would be it. I have driven other DSG gear boxes (VW etc) and none of them have this issue, they have the mild clunking, but not this "lag" it pick up. This issue is standard with the GTR as far as I know, 3 other friends have the car and experience the same thing. I am hoping a transmission oil change might reduce this. Willall oil going in next week. Cheers
  15. Someone lock this thread.....it is now pointless. (Even more than it was 3 months ago) I would propose the new title.....Should Nissan make an R35 with a gearbox that is not so clunky and grabby at low speeds. I wish I had a dollar for everytime the car has all of a sudden grabbed the reverse gear and bolted when trying to reverse park. I am getting used to the steps of "Engage reverse, accelerate...more...more....CLUNK...reverse found." I love this gear box but low speed gear changing and the black hole that exists when the car tries to find 1st from 2nd when coasting to a round about or intersection...that is my only criticism. Still I would not change it for a Manual again.
  16. I have the Dunlops on order with Taleb Tyres, they are going on in the next couple of weeks, a track day booked for late August, so I will let you know. I will back up their pricing, I shopped everywhere and these guys did the best price for me....I would 100% recommend them. Cheers, Gibbo.
  17. The GTR for me uses less fuel than an RX-8 I had a couple of years back. On the track the RX-8 got about 3km/l and was nowhere near as fast, on the road the RX-8 was a bit worse. That being said, if you need to worry about the cost of fuel then you should not be buying the GTR....or any car over about $60k. Cheers
  18. Open road I get about 11L per 100km. City and random driving I get 17.8 or thereabouts. Track days I have done on average 2.3km per Litre. The worst fuel consumption I have measured was 1.95km per litre over 1/2 a tank. From 60 litres I get about 130km on the track, plus enough to get me to the nearest servo.
  19. The reason being is that they paid LCT on the car when bought new. The government has collected its LCT on these cars, hence no LCT when sold second hand. However with imports, no LCT has ever been paid, hence the charge of LCT when it is imported. Cheers, Gibbo
  20. Had my Willal pipe installed on Saturday, I must say it was difficult to get me out of the car all weekend. I love the sound of the car....not sure my wife loves it so much when I leave at 5am...but I figure if I am up then she should be too. It is interesting to note that I believe the car actually goes better with it. I have put the foot down (from low speeds) in a straight line and have seen the traction control come on. This is in R mode. This never happened in a straight line before, so I will do some runs on the Performance box and will let you know how it goes. Very happy with the pipe, the car sounds like a sports car now.
  21. Are you based in the Hills, I am in Kellyville, I have been told there is another white one going round. Cheers,
  22. Max, Having looked at that Coupe 60 again, I would buy one in a heart beat if it was released looking like that. The silver coupe60 next to the GTR in the garage...now that would be better than the 427.
  23. Wow your are right Barron....the GTR looks huge compared to the 427, See how smooth and steath like that was....now we are back on topic.
  24. I am usualy that way, but it was a last minute business meeting at a 5 star hotel in the City. I have never had issues before, however to their credit they owned up straight away and showed me where they had damaged the car, they did not wait for me to find it. I do have a range of cars I could have taken, however I love to drive the R35, it has become my everyday car now...
