  1. Dunc, Hats off to you mate, it is at this point I would have another kidney tray with a whole range of nuts and bolts that are left over and I am not sure where they go.
  2. It is good to hear that people are pleased with their dealerships, the service manager at mine has been great, but it is like his hands are tied by Nissan Australia. The service manager comes out a picks my car up when it needs a service, however everything is at a cost. I think the sales experience with mine is what soured things from the beginning and the complete lack of response from Nissan Australia when the issue was raised with them. I love the car and if I could have got it for $30 - 50k less and forgone the warranty then I certainly would have. To date I have seen no value in it. Cheers.
  3. You have to manually go in an use the scroll wheel to type in the data. This is done through the edit option in the HDD
  4. Dunc, Does it come with any tunes in it, or just the ability to custom tune?
  5. I am actually curious if anyone has had anything covered under warranty (Other than the Gear Box that just failed here in Sydney). I had pads crap themselves....no warranty. So far the warranty is not worth squat, it does not appear to cover anything. Nissan are sounding like they will find any reason not to honour it. As such if you are buying a car for its warranty then good luck, but please ensure you don't take it to the track, do not replace any fluids, do not replace any parts....oh and try not to drive it. The warranty is not worth the carbon fiber operators manual that it comes in.
  6. Nice dash cluster, however you may want to try the R34 sections as this is for R35's....one number can make all the difference. Cheers
  7. Since you guys are pushing your own ebay sale and are a trader I assume you have run this by the Admin guys.......
  8. I want to appologise for my post after the image, mate I did not read the words you wrote, I am sorry for the loss. I would delete my words if I could. Cheers.
  9. Guys, Just to put these times in perspective....check this out: http://wakefieldpark.com.au/index.php?opti...2&Itemid=49 The lap records at Wakefield.....the GTR is up there with Porsche cup lap records and would have smashed the improved production record that currently stands by over 2 seconds. Well done again guys on the times.
  10. Whilst it is nice you are quoting figures, I have say that Wikipedia is not what I would be quoting to back up performance figures. Road tests for this car ranged from 4.3 to 4.5 (More commonly 4.5) for the 0 - 60 sprint. Either way we are comparing vastly different cars, either way I would not be using Wiki for my sole resource as to what is right and wrong.
  11. I use my GTR as my everyday car (Work, kids from school, shops etc). I do about 15,000km a year give or take. I have about 12,000km on the clock now. I do track days about 10 times a year and do not consider that I give the car hell, no more than many lesser cars that I have owned. The essential things I have had done are: - Oils $1000 - Brake Pads $520.00 - 10,000km Service $500.00 - Tyres $2,600.00 So for 10,000km it has cost me just over $4,600.00 in servicing costs. If I had done the disks like nissan said or did the pads through nissan then that figure could have been $17,000. Look it as about 45 cents per km in servicing costs, factor in insurance, petrol and the like and it somes to $1 per km in running costs. So there you have it, $1 per km.......may make me think twice before driving now.......lol
  12. OK 2 cents worth time too. I am a little older than you but have the following condition imposed by the wife; - Sports cars with 4 seats are fine incase I have to pick up our 2 kids. Facts: - The GTR will take a baby seat no problems. it is a 2 + 2 seater, plus it will take kids up to about 10 or thereabouts on short trips...eg home from School, to the shops etc. because they have to cross their legs on the seat due to limited leg room. - The GTR is about $180k on road now, with a price rise this year there are very few new under this price. - You have to track the GTR to really appreciate it - The service costs are going to hit you, no doubt about it. There is no need for this to be your last "Sports Car" it is the first "practical sports car". I have owned the RX-8, BMW 335 and now the GTR as my practical sports cars. Considering your situation I would honestly look at a 12 month old 335. Plenty of rear room, good boot and plenty of fun. They have all the luxuries and can be a great compromise. That being said my wife has always had the truely practical car, (Wagon, X5 etc etc), if you wife has a tiny car and your car is goign to be your main mode of familty transport then bite the bullet and get a 4 door car like the 335 sedan, or a 12 month old X5 or similar. The GTR is not suitable as your primary everyday car for a family. Good luck, but do not think of this car as your last sports car, it is simply the first "Practical Sports Car" Cheers.
  13. I completely agree with Duncan, I have two young children and the GTR is the perfect car for me. However I love the ZR-1, I love the R8, I love the DBS, however they all only have two seats. For all these arguments there is one fact, everyones tastes and needs are different. One magazine will report the GTR as the best supercar ever made, however the next will heap crap on it for being a soulless gadget that demands nothing from the driver. Each to their own, our different tastes in cars in only surpassed by our differing tastes in Women (Or men if you play for that side). I would love to own a V8 again, however when my garage space is limited I will choose the car that suits all my needs and wants. My ideal garage has a Vantage or DB9 in it with my GTR beside it. That is combined with the X5 that my wife has. All aspects met, but until I get rid of some toys or buy a bigger house then the GTR and X5 are it. Once again, no right or wrong answer, just peoples preference and needs.
  14. Good point....but F1 cars have one turn lock to lock, hence no need to remove the hands from the wheel. In the real world no road legal car that I am aware of has this steering range. But you are right it is a matter of preference.
  15. Taleb Tyres at Arncliffe here in Sydney said they were bringing them in....may even have them in stock by now.
  16. Owners that should have bought a Camry instead.....
  17. I had the cracked pads, just replaced them with Ferodo DS2500's. They feel very much like stock. V-Sport supplied these for me and I had them fitted for $66.00. All up about $520 fitted for new front pads. The service manager at my dealership siad that on the record he has to tell me that pads and rotors need to be replaced, however off the record, go out and get some good aftermarket pads as there was absolutely nothing wrong with my discs. I can feel another letter to wheels magazine coming on.
  18. Keep in mind however that the model of Maserati that you are driving was developed almost 10 years ago. They have done a lot of work since then and improved their product. Hell the new GT is almost as good looking as the Astons. The interior has progressed immensly, it is more in the class of the AM's than a true dedicated sports car now and has the interior to match. I am not sure how you can compare the Maserati against a Ferrari as one is a pure performance beast and the Maserati is a Tourer with a sports twist. The compromise you have in the seats could be due to the age of the car and no so much the brand as the ones I have driven in have been great. I agree with you on the Astons they are pure SEX, it will certainly be my next car, and the GTR will be relegated to track work only, and those awesome drive days up the putty road. Cheers, Gibbo.
  19. Well guys the 2010 GTR Specs are now confirmed. They get; 1) The iPod input 2) Auto headlights 3) GPS with 3D Bridview. 4) CD player supports MP3 and WMA This is good of Nissan to screw us on the 09 and then offer the features we should have got on the 2010.
  20. Because you all have been such big girls and claim for the wank factor you should get a Ferrari.....I decided that I shall knit you one. I made it so it handles better than a real one. Now I'll take the GTR bitches.....
  21. I am with Duncan on this, I had the option of buying a JDM for quite a bit less than the ADM, the JDM would also have got to me in December last year rather than April this year, but I was happy to pay more for the ADM. It is all about headaches, if something goes wrong I want to be able to call the dealer and say "Come get the car...here is the problem". With a JDM there is no such assurance. I have enough on my plate with running a company without having to worry about who is going to fix my car if something goes wrong. It is a convenience thing that is all.
  22. I bought one for my son when I was travelling back through Singapore. The airport has then incase anyone is transitting. When I bought it home he drove it into the garage and put it next to mine (White also) and he let it sleep there for the night next to its "Dad". They are pretty cool. The headlights come on when driving forward and the rear lights come on when in reverse.
  23. Sorry a little off topic....however just stumbled across this: http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=282&page=1 Just the thing for the boss that has everything...including a new GTR.
  24. "Turn the key to the on position and watch the airbag light. It should stay solid for 5-7 secs, and then turn off, and then start to flash. To reset the light, you must turn the key to on, watch the airbag light stay solid for 5-7 secs and as soon as the airbag light turns off, turn the key to the off position (you have to turn the key to off before the airbag light starts to flash, or you must start over). You need to repeat this 5 times. Try to start the car, and hopefully the light will be reset" No more Air Bag flashing light or Nav screen warning!!
