  1. Lol Wardy, I guess I could have called myself something else but I don't have one of those either, although most people on here probably think I am one!
  2. I don't know about 'aspiring' to own an R35, sounds a bit dramatic, but yes I certainly would like to own one. I thought the whole idea of the GT-R is that it is a supercar you can drive anytime, everywhere, everyday. Certainly If I do buy one i'll be driving it like I stole it every chance I get. Although in saying that i'd probably spend more time doing serious damage in your wine cellar then in the R35!
  3. Great post Brian I've driven both, (F6 & R35) not owned both though. Interested in your opinion on which car is better, on a purely 'value for money' comparison for street use only. A new F6 for 55K approx or a new R35 at 170k approx. Certainly agree with you about the ZF, it's no DSG but it's probably one of the best non DSG trannys around.
  4. Oh and the R35 is just a Datsun I'm afraid! A very very good one though! Just accept cars for what they are and what they can do no matter how old they are or what they cost! Certainly some R35 owners out there who are just a little bit precious i think! Clarkson had a Lancer on Top Gear, bought it 2nd hand for £4k for one of their challenges, 0 to 100kph in 3.5 seconds and handled like a dream! Great car! Lol I don't know what's easier, reeling you blokes in or fishing for trout down at my local!
  5. Nothing wrong with Datsuns either. Bloody handy for transporting live produce!
  6. Hats off to you Wardy for waiting and a buying a superseeded one and saving a bucket load of cash. I mean you'd have to be a complete fool to buy a new one and giving the government a sh•t load of your hard earned cash! By the way you can pick up a 12 month old F6 with demo klms for 45k. So you got the buy of your lifetime to get your R35 for 90k! It was 90k you paid wasn't it?? I don't think so. It always amuses me how sensitive people are about their cars! I mean at the end of the day they're just pieces of metal that get us from A to B and this is just a healthy debate. It' not like we're trading blows over our 1st born! Some people just need to chill out a bit! I think there might be a few owners out there with some insecurity and performance issues out there, perhaps in the trouser department! As I've said time and time before I love the r35 but it's always good to have a healthy debate and make comparisons!
  7. Lol, Domino I suggest if you don't like the tax system in Australia you should move elsewhere. I get sick of people crying over the LCT they have to pay and the depreciation they get hammered with when buying these cars! It's simple don't buy the f..king thing! Neither major party is willing to dump the LCT because it brings in a sh*t load of revenue! Let's not forget Australian made cars are subject to the LCT too, obviously not to the extent of the GT-R because of their lower value. Don't get me wrong I'd love to pay half the price for an R35, C63, RS5 etc etc... as they do in States but would I want to live in that God forsaken sh*t of a place, no thanks! As for quality of Australian made, a mate of mine recently bought a new BMW, what a piece of junk! It spends more time at the dealer then on the road! He can't wait to get rid of it! Let's not forget that the R35 has had some issues as well, not to mention overpriced spare parts like instrument clusters hey!
  8. Lol Easy there big fella! Easy! Just relax! Firstly there are plenty of modded daily driven f6's which are easily pulling low 11 quarters. This particular run was against a bone stock 2009 ADM. The R35 smashed him of the line but once the F6 gained traction he beat him over the line(obviously there was a bee's dick in it). We had a good chat to the owner of the R35 after the run and you'd swap the F6 for the R35 in an instant and that's quoting the owner of the F6! Secondly if you actually read my post I clearly said that the R35 is a superior car on the track. I wonder how many R35's actually see a track in their lifetime, by the way how's your garage queen going Wardy?? Have a look at the lastest Motor Mag. There are tuners achieving amazing results with Australian built VE's and FG's and these cars come with full warranty! Don't be so quick to bag out Aussie made muscle, they are some of the best made, value for money, performance SEDANS! made anywhere in the world and an important part of the Australian economy! We all know the R35 is an amzing vehicle in every respect, it's been proven but it's also nearly 200k new, so there's no need chuck a tanty when comparisoms are made!
  9. I'm sorry I love the GT-R but i've seen a lightly modified $65,000 FG F6 clean up an R35 down the 1/4 mile, so saying a bone stock R35 would destroy everything in the completion is just rubbish! For those who can't afford an R35 the F6 is by far the best bang for your buck avaliable in this country, an awesome Australian engineering masterpiece! Oh and yes and before you start throwing rocks at me, obviously on the track it would be a different story.
  10. I think once your R35 is out of warranty, using Willall products is a no brainer!
  11. Lol Turboadam, maybe next time buy a house instead of an R35 if you're worried about losing money!
  12. Lets just say I wouldn't be paying under 110 for a low km mint 2010 when you can get a 2011 for under 120!
  13. Can you get one from the UK? They have the KPH in big writing and MPH in small don't they? If you're going to buy a 2nd hand GT-R in this country you may as well buy one that's out of warranty so you need not bother dealing with those f-wits at Nissan Aust.
  14. Lol Wardski, if you think your R35 is going to be worth 70k when it's 12 years old, I think you know where your hand is! But then again if you leave it in the garage until then it maybe possible!
  15. Anyone asking over 100k for an 09 out of warranty has got their hand on it!
  16. Why would you blow all that cash, time and energy and then just flick it? Other people's money I guess.
  17. Anyone used these guys to tune their R35? Looks pretty impressive. 'Quote under video' This Dead stock R35 GTR makes 296 kw standard, after install and tune of the Haltech Platinum Pro R35 ECU a whapping 376 kw was acheived with absolutely no other modifications. The dump pipes start to get a little restrictive not wanting to flow more than 16 psi without rolling over, but the turbosmart E boost street certainly helps! none the less we think 376 is more than plenty for a standard set up! if you are wondering what its all worth? E boost street boost controller $645 fitted, Haltch ECU $4500 fitted and tuned.
  18. Martin what the condition of the transmission like after 80,000km? Was it using the OEM fluid?
  19. Interesting thread on NAGTROC about owners with high mileage R35's. Some cars pushing 80,000 miles with no real issues. http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?/topic/64444-highest-miles-on-r35-i-am-currently-at-71000-miles/
  20. I won't be telling my Mrs that I'd rather spend my money on women instead of cars, I'd lose half of everything, then definitely no R35 lol.
