Air In R33 Gtr Brakes
Country Cruzin replied to Country Cruzin's topic in Suspension, braking and tyres
You need to bleed your brakes, a very common technique explained on the internet. Basically there is a bleed valve near the break, you pump the brake with the valve open, and you will lose some fluid but also flush any air out. Start at the rear passenger side, then rear drivers, then front passenger, then drivers side brakes, bleed one at time, very helpful to have someone to help you with this yer was doing that when i sucked the air in, than spent 2-3 hours trying to bleed the air out. got some air out to start with but dont seem to be able to get it all out, went back round all the other wheels an couldn't get any air out. yer had someone helping. -
okay yes i'm a dickhead. was changing the brake fluid an sucked the resivoir dry thanks to a stain on the resivoir2/3 of the way down. now i've got air in the lines somewhere an cant seem to get it out. any help would be great! thanks

my mechanic told me i had to get one, got about 287awk, running 20 psi, just for a street car, said the oil can make them ping when releesed back into the intake like standard.
-
yes too high for stock turbos, thing was i was told they had bn rebuilt with steel wheels when i bought the car, only found out about a month ago they weren't so $13000 later with new turbos an some other goodies i got 385awhp @20 psi
-
hmm 180 Awkw's doesnt sound that bad or is that 180 rwkw?? my R33 gtr was only making 210awkw @17 psi with a new greddy boost controller, pfc, dumps cat back, air intake,cp pistons so 180kw doesnt sound that bad for only 12 psi, unless there is something wrong with my car too.

How Much Can Stock R32 Gtr Turbos Handle?
Country Cruzin replied to fandango's topic in Forced Induction Performance
It is a gamble really. bought a R33 GTR bout six months ago, an was told the wheels in the turbos had been replaced (and they hadn't) an was running 17 PSI for bout six months 12,000km with plenty of time spent at redline an never had any problems, till i did some more back ground research on the car and found the wheels hadn't bn. so just got some new garrets. but yer i dont suggest that much boost. if the wheels are okay i think 1 bar should be fine. -
well g'day i'm brad, got an r33 GTR bout six months ago thought i should sign up to a club. i live in QLD bout 2-3 hours west of brissie. willow bank is my closest strip so i might see a few of ya's there when i get my car back from mark at godzillar motorsport. think he's nearly finished.
