------------------------------- you've put up several posts now about this but clearly have not taken any previous advice on board - if you had done so by now you would know that you have to jump two pins on the engine diagnostic connector to get the flashing code which tells you what the likely problem is - takes about 1 minute, like I said some time ago - but, hey if its too much trouble to do its best you just keep wildly guessing.........and guessing ..........and posting some more ......lol

Pontiac Is Officially Dead
cosmic starz replied to craig V8 taffe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
pontiac - last real ones they did were in the late 60s (GTO) the 90's stuff was crap the 80s stuff wasn't much better. to be honest they were mostly panel swaps anyway. the base frames were the same. ----------------------------------------------------- you took the word right out of my mouth - Pontiac dead - good riddance - never built anything exciting or with super hot body style since the 1966-67 series Pontiac GTOs GM, Chrysler et al squandered any right to stay in existence a long time ago - look at the Chrysler made garbage on sale here in Australia right now - a rationalised American car making industry is long overdue -
--------------------------------------- many people have given masses of info on this topic - including in past 12 months - some of it is plain nonsense/guesswork which can easily be spotted - why don't you use the SAU SEARCH facility - hint: search for info about how the ECU is programmed to give a fault Code which is identifiable via the Engine Warning Light flashing sequence - if Nissan is so good to provide a way of identifying a fault accurately why don't you use that facility to identify what fault your car has - it takes about 1 minute ???????????????? lol

Aussie Top Gear Series 2
cosmic starz replied to evil_weevil's topic in General Automotive Discussion
TGA .....its an hour of abominable boring crap interspersed with the rare bit of watchable stuff .........mostly warmed up dog turd served by 3 persons with no real car cred..........how the f**k do they pick those tosser comperes ? - its like watching the muppets (but at least the real muppets have personality) ...imo these scripted/manufactured clowns on TGA are not even original or funny....... Depending on your taste and breadth of interest in cars and things automotive, if you want something closer to real car show on TV you watch TVS in Sydney on Tues nites (Ch 31 in Melb?) GASOLINE and Cruizing, with the anally fixated other tosser compered show, Classic Restos on Wed nites. And Drive It from Germany on TVS on Saturdays (in Sydney) is not too bad, and gives reviews on most newly released models of Euro sports cars very soon after they hit the showrooms, plus sections on more mundane car stuff and classic cars etc but all these alternative shows are only 1/2 hr episodes - tape them if the scheduled times are inconvenient ! -
the defenders of the faith have missed the whole point of the review - he's not doing a racinng /rallying suitability assessment - he's doing a daily driver assessment- so ask yourself this question: does anyone in their right mind really think a R35 GTR would be any good as a daily drive in Australian suburbia with our awful roads etc? ..........apart from the few R35 s sold for racing and rallying the R35 gtr will be bought just be a status symbol in most cases ..........on utilitarian criteria he was spot on ............and was right that the 370Z would be a far better option for most drivers............but hey, there are persons who may desperately need to (over) compensate for ego/dick size handicaps and we would all agree they should definitely buy the R35 GTR - lol -

------------- I think I've got one that I took out of a non-functioning HU unit lying around somewhere - just an issue of if I can find it - will do a search in the next few days - will let you know if I find it and I will send it to you (no cost) if that is of use to you answering the question?
-
------------------------------ my last advice is they are waiting for you to say hello -

------------------ you can't have met many Japanese - lol - like English is second language taught at school and most younger people have reasonable command of basic english the answers to your nest 2 questions are NO and No

First thing you need to do is : 1 check if the engine warning / checklite coming ON (flashing in the dashboard) ? 2 if yes, dont do anything such as replace coils or even waste time looking at them until you confirm if its a Code 21 - there are many posts describing how to check for Code 21 takes about 1 minute - a misfire may be caused by many other factors Then start the process of elimination based on what Code you got. In many recent posts about misfires there is so much useless speculation and misinformation - the sensible thing to do is rely on the ECU Codes (they are there to tell you what the problem is) - seems many Skyline owners never bother to do that or even d/l or read the Service Manual - lol The Manual has all the info you will need to run any tests.

Gtr Million Dollar Question
cosmic starz replied to donkeypunch's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
a difference of only 400 meters above sea level can be considered totally insignificant so far as air pressure / density is concerned you need to look elsewhere - dodgy fuel is one possibility among about several ............. lol -
--------------------------------------------------- In the situation you appear to be in - where the unit is dead and you are in Sydney where no-one provides a real repair or work-around solution like Chris Rogers does in Brisbane you seem to have 2 main options, just do all the basic checks that the connectors etc are all connected as they should be, and if that doesn't reveal an easily fixable problem consider the options provided by Chris Rogers' to get some screen functionality - better to contact him direct.

Payed For Power Fc + Hc Over East Through Sau
cosmic starz replied to munazza's topic in Western Australia
____________________________________ Some real low-lifes around ............. You should ask the MODS to merge all 3 threads about the scammer under a suitable heading such as WARNING _ SCAMMER IN ACTION IN QLD - link up with each other and give all details to the Police to get them involved in catching the fraudster - anyway hope you can get some results - good luck! -
---------------------------------------------------------- instead of a totally vague plea for assistance why don't you just use the SAU 'search' function ; everything about engine warning lites , how to find the code, and what the code means has been covered profusely - just a matter of taking some basic initiative really..........and when you find the code, and then if you need some real help, post again - dah - help will be forthcoming!

____________________________________________________________________________ Dear Taso Your posts are no better than the crap put out by Today Tonight / A Current Affair - in fact, you use exactly the same format of : 1 not properly researching or understanding the topic you are dealing with 2 misrepresenting/slandering people/organisations and/or their statements/ideas 3 not giving a toss about objectivity or facts and, 4 not knowing when best to shut the f**k up. Hoons and uninformed persons like you just give all the political parties more opportunity (if they want to take it) to make all drivers of imported high performance cars into pariahs - please consult Dictionary if that word is too hard for you- during election campaigns. Try to lift yourself up from Today Tonight / A Current Affair gutter level, and stop posting misinformed and misleading crap - not too big an ask is it? Cheers

------------------------------------------------------------------ I have read the Press Release carefully . It merely discusses a range of stronger enforcement options to better deal with car hoons, "For example, Western Australia and New South Wales have flagged laws to crush cars, Western Australia and South Australia can clamp cars for a first offence and SA police can apply to extend clamping to 90 days.". It simply states some facts about the options being looked at in other States. Perhaps Taso84 may wish to tell us how he interprets the Press Release as a commitment by that political party or leader to introduce car crushing laws?

Voltage Low & Battery Flat - But Alternator And Battery Good?
cosmic starz replied to boostdef's topic in General Maintenance
---------------------------------------------------------------- WELL THE EASY ANSWER IS TAKE THE CAR TO A AUTO ELECTRICIAN BUT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DO THAT JUST YET YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE BOTH BATTERIES ARE GOOD - OLDER ONE MAY HAVE CELLS BREAKING DOWN AND ITS NOT IMPOSSIBLE FOR A NEW ONE TO BE A DUD OCCASIONALLY - YOU CAN CHECK ALL CELLS EASILY - GOOGLE HOW TO DO IT - AND DO IT WITH THE NEW ONE TOO ALTERNATELY YOU CAN ELIMINATE THE BATTERIES AS THE FAULT BY PUTTING THEM IN ANOTHER CAR - IF IT DOES NOT GET SAME PROBLEM BATTERIES ARE GOOD ALSO CHECK YOUR EARTHING - ADD SOME EXTRA IF NEEDED AFTER THAT IF NO GOOD SEE AUTO ELECTRICIAN UNLESS SOMEONE ON SAU HAS ANOTHER SOLUTION TO OFFER -
------------------------------------------------------------- +1 - well said - heres the challenge for tossa84 - maybe he needs to think about re-enrolling and getting a proper education, put aside the comic books for the next 4 years and instead go to an adult learning centre, and then he may earn some cred - its not too late - the knowledge and skills gained will equip him for his big crusade to change Victoria - sure as night follows day no dumb-ass is ever going to change anything anywhere

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This POST should be closed down 'Rant' is a correct description for this type of crap - a totally illogical and irrational mix of some truth, half-truth, nonsense, prejudice, and stupidity leading to an unworkable proposal - just for one example, you would need all the States to agree to amend the Australian Constitution for a Federal police take-over of policing in any state and that could only take place after a referendum within Victoria where the people vote for change of the State Constitution. Aahh but everythings oh so simple when you do not the even to bother to think about the real world including the law and the Constitution - has the sponsor of the post ever heard of the Constitution and even understand what it is and why it exists? But I think we get the drift of the agenda..................so we should all be humble to common criminals and pay people like the person you named in good terms, Mr Gatto and bikie gangs, bribes and protection money just to go about our daily lives ? Don't think so! Maybe some people want to make Australia more like Beirut or Somalia etc but I am confident the majority are pleased as it now is despite some imperfections from time to time.

Differences Between Plastic And Fibreglass
cosmic starz replied to JGTC's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
r OIZO is spot on again Here are pics of my genuine factory fitted kit - note: bonnet is not fully closed as just did oil and filter change, and car has not been washed for about 3 months - its always garaged - the key point to note is that area with the word SKYLINE imprinted (the lower front centre section) is always black/gray colour from factory - if car has front bar all same colour likely it has been modded or reprayed due to accident damage -
Translate The Fuse Box Inside The R34

____________________________________________________ seems like step in right direction for those on the SAU exec who have a clue about how public policy is formulated at highest government level my best advice to you is that you should be seeking direct representation on relevant premiers dept stakeholders committees or working groups or if they do not exist demanding their establishment so becoming part of the solution instead of the bogey man its also much harder for media outlets to pick on a person or organisation that has highest level government access and credibility, esp if you have media handling skills but it does require quite a lot of work......... doesn't everything though - been there done that myself actually but not saying which state and on what side of the fence so don't ask
