Deep down, you know that it is because they are imports, that is why we can afford them.
Skylines are cheap in the scheme of things. Parts can be expensive. But you can hunt around and you get good advice here and SAU helps minimise the bills. The work done on my car is done at cheap labour rates.
If you were to buy a brand new SS Commodore or even a plain new Vectra or Magna, it would cost much more.
I sometimes drive a work Magna. It's $32,000.
My Skyline is nowhere near $32,000.
So this car is really a cheap runabout... I'd be more in hock if I bought a brand new Hyundai Accent or Honda Getz.
