  1. if i knew earlier i could've told you those rims were 7s front 8s rear. I was going to buy then when they were 1st up for sale like 2 months ago, the guy said they had 215 and 235s tires. he was said they may be 8 front and 8.5 rear, but i asked if there tires had any stretch and he said no. i have run 215s on 7s and 215s on 8s, and 215s on 8s do show visible stretch. so i obviously didn't get them
  2. i think he used to run a GTR bar before he crashed it...
  3. Ah yeah i'll definitely be at deca again if Exams don't screw it up. Enkei RP-F1s for $1.7k are so tempting, but trying to keep it budget as well I'm after some lightweight wheels 17x9, 9.5 in GTR offset, i realized keeping it under $1k is very hard, so i raised my budget to a bit over $1k. Balancing rims is very easy btw. its just those weights you see stuck on the inside of the wheel. They chuck ur wheel on the balancing machine, spin her up, and then a red spot on the dial shows where the imbalance is, they get the special wheel balancing tape and stick the weights on the inside of the barrel and spin again until the imbalance is within tolerance Try to get a quote from a local workshop 1st.
  4. i'm going 5 stud, so there is more choice. GTR offset is from +12 to +24 depending on width of the rim. i'm after something 9" or 9.5" wide. Been all over yahoo auctions lately trying to find some. Almost bought some old skool 17x9 ADVAN Tri-spokes in GTR offset but someone out bid me. I've missed out an a few wheels on here as well, coz i always see them too late
  5. Ah koool, i've been trying to find some 17s in GTR offset in 9" or so
  6. Since you just joined, can you post some more pictures of the wheels as proof that you own them. Also some photos of the back of the hubs showing the stamped size and offset. The offset is usually the major price point.
  7. im guessing you measured when the car was jacked up? you might want to try to stick ur hand behind the wheel when the car is on the ground. also try to allow for some suspension movement. I read in the for sale thread the guy used to have them on his S13, so ask for pictures and question wheather they fit without spacers.
  8. If i were you i would trial fit them first i'm not exactly sure about the space in the rear but i think that would be a very close call
  9. How do you plan on making those wheels fit, +40 offset on a 17x9 sounds like fail to me
  10. nah 5stud i think... 5stud is the way to go, i almost collected all the parts to do mine properly
  11. yeah they are known to buckle over ripple strips, so not ideal track wheels. spend some money and get the good quality stuff from a well known brand someone is selling some Enkeis in the for sale section 8s front 9s rear if i remember correctly
  12. Koya Dteks come in 17x9.5 +18 or +19(can't remember which one), which have the same inner clearance as 17x8 +37
  13. there is a very nice set of 17x9.5s front and 18x10.5 rears RP-F1s on yahoo auctions GTR offset +15 or +19 can't remember only for an insane low price of 80k yean i wish i had the money, but i'm set on buying a set of mesh wheels
  14. did these wheels clear GTS-T calipers without spacers?
  15. how heavy are the wheels? Cheers
  16. page 12 or 13
  17. ha ha yeas ABS does help prevent flat spots, but it cuts in way too much and slows you down. after doing 2 DECAs with ABS i actually like no ABS. The flat spots are mostly coz my tires are shit and only 185s which is smaller than stock. hopefully I'll have some 17x9s and some federals before November
  18. its on
  19. yay, i win the Type X class LOL *victory dance*
  20. yay i finally broke through the 30is and into the 20ies 27th outright I've been having a kind of strange pattern the past 3 DECAs 1st DECA i was 37th, 2nd i was 47 and now i'm 27th Whats with all the 7s at the end Very surprised how well i did, especial after seeing how many cones i have hit, i only remember hitting 2 or so.
  21. this thread needs more RESULTS
  22. saw a silver R35 GTR parked at Melbourne Central along the road, standard VIC issue plates XTQ-*** big guy behind the wheel
  23. I think I'll come to this one, I would've came along ages ago if I realized where it is. Its like 5 min from my work
  24. I was very happy to get through the 1st knockout round, my ABS not working got me stopped in time, while Moe flew through the box coz of ABS kicking in. did anyone catch any photos of my handbrake park in the last untimmed run.
  25. Another awesome DECA gone by... Thanks to the organisers, sponsors and volunteers for the great event. Had heaps of fun, the event ran a lot more efficiently and the untimmed runs were even more of a blast. My big lockup on the miniwang however flatspotted my tires prety bad, so it made for a rather vibrating ride home. Can't wait for all the pics and vids Only 3 month till DECA ... the countdown begins
