  1. I got my S1 33 manual gtst for 8k, interior is in very good condition, no crash history and average paintwork with just over 80,000kms done on it and that was over 6 months ago. So far I have put over 12,000kms on it and nothing has broken/no funny noises coming from engine and the gearbox is silky smooth when everyone said I'd be lucky to get an absolute boonga for under 9k. I would say that prices have fallen due to the combined effects of: the end of fast and furious, the reputation caused by f&f/f&f wannabes, falls in other car prices and the fact so many of them have been brought in. Supply is only getting larger unlike most cars which decrease in numbers after being discontinued and demand has fallen
  2. I am going to add a "what havn't you been pulled over for" which happened to me yesterday night. I am poor and need moneys desperately so last night when my mate rang at about 1am and asked for a lift home from a party for $80 I accepted. Anywho I get there and it turns out the catch is there is 7 people that need a lift, I managed to fit 2 in the front, 4 in the back and 1 in the boot and was carefully driving back home in my r33, p plates up that is practically scraping along the ground. Next to me was a daewoo lanos driving sensibly at 10kmph below the limit (same speed as me) and behind is a VE commodore. I was praying that it wasn't an undercover car when on came the blue and red lights. I was pulling over then noticed he was actually pursuing the daewoo lol. He definately would have known I was exceeding the passenger limit as well so Im not sure why he pulled over the daewoo instead of me
  3. I wouldnt mind seeing this enforced in school zones, especially at primary schools. Interestingly I have noticed that in my local areas at least it seems to be alot of mothers particularly in large expensive SUV's/4wds like prado's, X5's, H3's and rangerover's that disobey the school zone limits most frequently, usually doing the full 70kmph through them. Whereas even the most fully sick wrx's and skylines seem to atleast slow down to within 5-10kms of the limit
  4. Once had an old woman, about 70 give me the finger and mumble something about hooning while I was cruising at about 45kmph in a 50 zone. Couldnt resist dropping it down to 2nd and giving it a bit of a poke Other than that, which isnt really pedestrian rage I get the occasional "skylines suck!" comment from bogans but nothing to bad
  5. Do you know if this sale would apply in western australia?
  6. Similar happens to me whenever there is a chev badged commodore on the road, they either tailgate me then pass me with rude finger/dirt look or I sit a reasonable distance behind them so they brake till they are sitting 20kms under the limit then speed up once the road becomes multilane and I pass them
  7. Though I drive sensibly nowadays, the dumbest shit I have ever done while driving would have to be when I was on my red p's driving my 1986 1.6L corolla hatchback, it would either be a) high speed offroading at my mates farm on the race track we made, including jumps at about 90kmph (yes I did get a bit airborne) b) seeing 200kmph on the speedo with a bit of a tail wind I think that most young drivers will inevitably do something reckless in their car no matter what they drive, yet we are taught nothing about what to do in emergency situations nor anything about a cars handling characteristics. Its pretty much assumed by the idealistic system currently in place that: no normal person would ever even think to speed; if you do not speed you will never be in an emergency situation. ever; if you happen to speed even 5kms over the limit your car suddenly becomes a lethal killing machine and it is a miracle if you do not kill yourself and everyone around you.
  8. I got 2 keys cut one at bunnings and one at Mr Minit, the one done at bunnings was terrible and didn't work nor look anything like the original key and the mr minit one didn't work either but I was able to sit at home with my little file and file it for about 2 hours to get it to work. Basically I would go to a proper locksmith to get the job properly. You will probably have to buy blank keys from nissan or somewhere else beforehand as well
  9. RIP and condolences to the blokes family and friends. Off topic, being dead technically just means you are not breathing and have no heartbeat. I was born dead apparently and then decided to died a few more times after that and I am alive and relatively non retarded
  10. My mate (who owns a ~50hp toyota paseo)swears by nitrogen filled tyres and was also strongly urged to use nitrogen to refill his tyres and thinks it adds about 40hp at each wheel. He has explained to me that the mechanic said using nitrogen will shed unwanted air weight in his tyres to optimise car performance and fuel consumption, need filling up slightly less often (but be alot more annoying to fill up), and provide more stable tyre pressure at the extreme operating temperatures the tyres would be at on his toyota paseo among other benefits. I didn't buy it though and have a sneaking suspicion that its just a gimicky upsell item (anyone in retail should know what this is) strongly suggested to each customer so that more money can be made.
  11. Isn't statistic's what racism is all about?? Statistically speaking, an aboriginal is more likely to commit a crime than me because I am white, therefore police should be tougher on aboriginals. Yet if police openly discriminated against races more likely to commit a crime theres a big moral outrage+lawsuits etc..
  12. The aerial on my r33 doesnt work properly either, it is stuck down and doesnt come up. I still get a (crappy) radio signal and the signal strength improves vastly when something is attached to the aerial, ie: if I grab the aerial the radio signal comes good so I think its plugged into the headunit. Is there also another plug that I have to put in my headunit so the aerial motor works? Or will I need a new aerial motor to fix it.
  13. wgmg -humidity -the random bee that just stung me on the neck as I was browsing sau 10 minutes ago..wtf?? -humidity -fags that park right behind my car to go to the beach because the carparks full. -working the real public holiday on normal payrate while others get 2.5x penalty pay rate for working a monday thats not even a public holiday -food poisoning from a macdonalds chicken deluxe burger -sundried prawns still sitting in my garbage bin since xmas till this thursday
  14. I own an R33 series 1 gtst and don't have any service records of when/if gearbox and diff oil has been changed so I wish to do this. The car has just clocked over 90,000kms, isn't tracked or thrashed and doesnt have any mechanical problems with it to the best of my knowledge. Which oil will be best for this? I don't care about spending a bit to get top quality products as it won't be changed for another 50,000kms, and what are some good sites that sell them online? None of my local shops have not been very helpful and dont stock much except $9 gulf western oil
  15. Yeah but I'm only 55kg so if 5 110kg+ guys rock up to take my car I wouldnt favour my odds in a fight even with a baseball bat lol I have got better insurance, always park the car as far up as I can fairly out of view and have also installed a little something to make it harder to start for a thief. I've taken every precaution I can without costing myself a wad of cash, if this isn't enough to protect my car then I guess I'll be back on the market looking for a nice 32 gtst
  16. Yeah I was talking about this with a mate who's practically family with the guys who paralyzed the officer, his side of the story was: The accused tried to break up a fight that was someone supposedly harrassing women, and a different officer ********* then used unnecessary force on the accused such as hitting them with a batton without warning etc.. after which the brawl ensured and the other officer who had done nothing wrong was left paralyzed. In court however the prosecution only showed their edited version of the CCTV footage which was released to the media, and tried to hide the footage showing the first officer using unreasonable force from the jury/judge. The other footage got out though as (unknown to the prosecution) the accused also had a full copy of the CCTV footage which forced the case to be thrown out. Basically the prosecution got caught out going for a higher sentence by withholding vital evidence, if they got away with it 2 men would be serving a higher than necessary prison sentence, but even though they didn't the truth is hidden from the public and a whole heap of publicity and moral outrage comes out of it, leading to the governments kneejerk reaction to introduce mandatory prison sentencing laws.
  17. How crowded are the cinemas for this film atm? Have heard good things about it but a few mates have complained that sitting on the very edge because it was so packed meant the 3d effects weren't as good, so I am going to see it if/when its not so busy.
  18. Nah thats only in the eastern states. They were going to introduce a similar rule here where you start with 3 demerits+ 3 more each year you drive till you have the full 12,along with the other learner/p plate changes in july 2008 but then decided against it. Though it is likely it will be introduced sometime in the future
  19. Uhh you do know that western australian p platers have 12 demerit points right?
  20. Are you sure about this? I personally know someone (a good friend) who got done doing 32km's over in the easter holidays, on easter infact, and he is still driving around.
  21. Dont see the point in double demerits or how it is fair, speeding/drink driving is no more or less dangerous on christmas than at any other time. Why not make murder 30 years instead of 15 or burglary 6 years instead of 3 during the holidays as well? Police are really out in force though so crack out your mums camry, I saw 2 speed cameras, 3 marked cop cars and to top it off when I was nearly home I was also pulled over by 2 unmarked cop cars, a white ve divvy van that was very obvious and a not so obvious maroon vz wagon. Fine because my back p plate had fallen and flipped over to the red side:( This was all on a 15km stretch of one road as well
  22. A few months ago in the winter I was driving along the freeway at 100kmph when a plastic shopping bag was suddenly sucked through my window and suctioned onto my entire face, it was all dirty and wet as well as it had been raining. Luckily being such an awesomely awesome driver my initial reactions were to keep the steering wheel still and brake slowly until I peeled the bag off my face and threw it back out the window to attack some other unsuspecting motorist. Porbably the only instance of a close(ish) call I have to crashing from a distraction.
  23. So far I havn't seen them again, then again the car has been garaged every day since with the garage door padlocked and disconnected from power at night. I have to start parking it up the side of my house again as we now have 4 cars though so I'll be watching for them again. Also I switched my insurance, saved $150 per year and my excess is $1250 instead of 3 grand if its stolen, with the cars value upped to 8.5 grand:P
  24. Living right next to a nice beach on summer days with lovely weather really grinds my gears I have been listening to that creepy warped electronic pied piper child rapist icecream van song pretty much all day every day and I am looking forward to yet another weekend of it.
  25. Really 30 grand isnt all that much for a sports car in 1991, a vn calais rrp was over 30k back then as well and its hardly a car that the wealthy and elite have preserved over time. New cars are getting cheaper and cheaper relative to other goods so you cant really compare its "inflated" price
