  1. Not really it just means they are more liberal in their views then others. I never did anything bad, except for a couple of knock and runs which is hardly a big deal, not even sure if its illegal. Just because your out after dark doesnt mean your doing anything wrong. Its like saying skyline drivers should have a curfew unless accompanied by their mothers after dark because they are always meddling and up to no good.
  2. If the kids said they werent near the area they meant in an area where they could have thrown rocks onto cars on that road. If the police can't get them to admit guilt they can't do anything about it, just because some vigilant has done a citizens arrest on some kids sitting in a park doesnt constitute that they have committed the offence beyond reasonable doubt. Theres nothing the cops could do really. Most wouldn't really agree with why this is unless you have personally been singled out and blamed for some shit that happened nearby purely because your the first kid they found out after dark.
  3. Cmon 8:30pm on a weekend is hardly late. When I was a kid I was allowed out till 10:30pm and that was back when I was 11, a 7:30pm curfew would be a joke
  4. Hmm yeah but a drunk person could cross infront of anything, I'm not quite sure how drunk I would have to be to not notice someone ripping a big burnout next to me though. I wouldnt know because I have never even attempted to do a burnout, but if you felt yourself losing it surely you would be able to stop before you went flying into a cafe. Youd have to be pretty stupid to keep your foot on the accelerator the whole time. As for the ferrari incident, a I understand what happened was: -Hektik dude gets married, rents $150,000 ferrari -Not used to the ferrari's power, handling or controls as he has never driven anything other than his hyundai excel. -Fangs it and loses it on shifting to second which woulda been atleast 50kmph and keeps revving till he runs into a car. I do agree it an insane spot to rip a burnout though, you cant really expect to do this and not be crucified by the media and have an example made of you by the law
  5. Yeah but you did say it was 8:30pm, you were minding your own business until you heard a big bang and even then it took you a second to realise what had happened. So you cant really say you got a look at them, and one independent witness isnt very concrete. I'm only saying this due to some of my experiences as a kid. Try look at it from the other side Firstly, playing at the beach at age 11 with 2 of my cousins, couple of days later we find out some old lady has fallen into a pit trap someone has dug and covered with sticks/leaves, broken her leg and wants to sue my parents for 6 figures because one of her friends saw us playing at the beach, assumed it was us so she changed her story to say she saw us digging that hole. It definately was not us and we only got off because of our age and the police said it was "probably too complex to have been built by 11 year olds". if I was 15 I could have been buttf**ked by the law. If you didnt see the kids whats to say this lady didn' t drive around spot some suspicious looking kids drinking at a park and blame them? She obviously didnt chase them through the bush. These kids probably did it but you can't be 100% sure and getting charged with something you are innocent of is far worse than someone guilty getting away IMO I have also been accused of throwing rocks at cars when I was 12 because I had a dark jumper on and was walking home from my friends house wrong time wrong place. I was shouted at and spat on by some crazed bitch who forcefully held me there till the cops arrived and let me go, she swore black and blue she nearly got hit by a rock thrown from the freeway overpass and that it was definately me that threw it (I was never even within 200m from freeway overpass btw). She genuinely couldnt believe the cops let me go and wanted them to take me straight to juvie and probably wrote to the community newspaper the next week about what an outrage it was, reintroduce the cane and death sentence for children, and something needs to be done about todays youth asap.
  6. Hopefully I dont get flamed too badly for this, but really how dangerous is a burnout such as this? Note: I am trying not saying this behaviour is cool or should be legal but I do think burnouts are overhyped as dangerous sometimes Does anyone have any footage/youtube videos of people being killed/injured by a SLOW MOVING burnout done in a mildy powered car gone wrong, I mean it was an auto rb20 (i think) so it couldnt have been putting out 1000 horsepower. Lets just say he did lose control sideways at 10kmph what would realistically happen? Would he magically plow into the crowd at 90kmph and somehow kill 12? The only burnout I have seen kill people was that Australian in a several thousand hp dragster on big fat slicks in america that was going at a pretty quick pace (comapred to 5-10kmph) when he lost it. And as for the crowds, lets be honest most of them were lovin it, cheering and egging the guy on. Hardly innocent victims of hoon terror. If you were in this situation and genuinely feared for your safety I think you would have time to clear the area before anything happened instead of standing around watching.
  7. Yep its too hard for the police to write up all the paperwork for a rock throwing incident. And because you didn't see the perpetrators and only had one witness without an admission of guilt from the kids to the cops the case would have been thrown out in court anyway.
  8. My bad, so an official government controlled club that individuals can pay to join that openly offers its members special police consideration? It still sounds like bribery/corruption to me.
  9. You would be surprised how many times I have been pulled over in my skyline, 2am, p plates, car full of pissed mates, and a sober driver impeccably obeying all roadrules. Once I pass the breatho they often do say great driving good to see someone young being responsible have a nice night and continue to drive safely. Anyway the idea of paying money in order to reduce police attention sounds awfully similar to bribery to me, and the people buying into it would be mainly those who are looking to get rid of cop attention, AKA hoons. I can't see it working and it would definately be illegal
  10. hahaha even adelaide now itelf seems to be atleast somewhat impressed by the burnout From http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/police-want-...u-1225838268044 cation under car photo: "The car alleged to have been caught on video doing a decent burnout on Rundle St is bought into a compound at the city watch house after being confiscated by police last night. Picture: Tom Lee " Source: The Advertiser
  11. Can someone do ECR33022135 for me please?
  12. TBQH Parking my r33 is quite comparable with parking my sisters corolla and a far better turning circle than my mums camry, ie: it has a nice tight turning circle. There is no way an r32 has a turning circle of 5.2m, shit a smart car has a turning circle of 8.7metres. 5.2m is comparable with japanese kei cars and a skyline is not and has never been a kei car.
  13. I dont really find there to be to much of a negative stereotype with skylines, the only old person I know who has even mentioned it is my mates dad who is like 1 rank below being the state police commissioner. Most of my grandparents/uncles/aunts and parents friends responses to my car are along the lines of: "thats actually a nice looking suzuki coupe (the "S" on the bonnet ) you have there son, I didn't know they made sports cars.. which model is this?"
  14. I know hardly anything more complex than changing my oil but I got a 52% in year 10 physics and I dont understand this. The volume of exhaust gas would be inversely proportional to pressure so you are saying that a larger exhaust volume=lower pressure in exhaust system=???=more backpressure. And lets say in the 30 minutes it takes for the exhaust gases to pass through the giant exhaust they cool down. Lower temperature means the molecules in the exhaust fumes are moving at a lower speed thus providing a lower pressure for the same concentration of particles and this somehow increases backpressure as well? OP: Car is slow because its a 1.5tonne 4wd being powered by a 15 year old naturally aspirated 2.5L engine
  15. My dad thinks he spotted them again about 2 weeks ago after 2 months of not seeing them, I think they must drive past occasionally and just to check if its garaged or not which is what dad has seen both times at 5pm with heaps of people around, and then probably plan to come back later at night to steal it, probably what I saw when I caught them with torches at midnight. So dad kicked mums car out of the garage permanently which works well for me. No more having sea salt mist encrusted on my car 3 days after washing it .
  16. I dont really know about the r34s or the GTR'sbut when I bought mine: R32 gtst-Older, worse interior, 0.5L less displacement, worse gearbox, less room inside, higher kms and worse condition in general than 33's for the same price, looks better. R33 gtst- see above. looks worse but still pretty nice and not too dated, most old people think my '93 model looks like it was made in 1998-2002. fuel economy doesnt seem any worse than the 32 even with the extra power and weight. Also can someone explain to me why R33's are boats? They are lighter than the R34 which isn't a boat and they weigh what 100kgs more than a 32? How much would a 32 weigh with a rb25det+25 gearbox. In the end I couldnt justify paying the r32 tax to brag about how cool and non-boaty my car is so I just went with the cheaper, newer, bigger engined r33, even though an R32 is what I initially wanted
  17. When I swapped my insurance from just cars to sgio they said they could do it at market value which was 10k or what I paid for it which was 8.5k, so mine is insured for 10k even though they know i payed 8.5k for it over 6 months ago. This was for third party fire+theft btw
  18. Haha yeah true. I have even been pulled over a few times with passengers that have opened alcohol and the police didnt mind as long as I'm sober. Do I just pour some metho onto my back seat and leave it? Or should I dab at it with a clothe or something, I'll be trying it tomorrow. Today the car didnt smell to bad and you could only smell a faint beer smell if you sat in he backseat
  19. It wasnt me that was drinking. My asian friend decided his beer would be ok if he sat it down upright while I took a roundabout. That was his only his third beer as well and he's a big guy about 95kgs. asians cant drink
  20. I just had about 100ml of beer spill onto the backseat of my car, I soaked up ~50% of it with a towel and then sat another dry towel over the wet patch to try suck up some more of it. What products can I use to get at this in the morning? Right now i'm off to bed cos ive had about 5 hours sleep since thursday.
  21. Pulled over for driving a skyline with p plates at 3-4am.. 4 times in an hour Which was lots of fun considering I left my license at home and had to explain it each time 1. cop car pulls over on the side of the road and waits for me to pass then an "rbt" 2. undercover xr6t pulls me over not 5mins later. 3. Parked at maccas when 2 cops come into the store and asked whos driving the skyline, rbt (yes an rbt in the middle of maccas as i ate my cheeseburger) 4. Filling up at BP and a cop car pulls in and approached me, as my back p plate had flipped over to the red side in the wind. Spent a while explaining i was a green p plater, rbt etc.. all up no fines or defects though and all of the police were polite to me
  22. my car ticks 1 and 5 with just over 90,000kms . Hopefully its cos it was parked under the australian sun for 4.5years not cos it has 200,000 on it
  23. Saw a dude in an au xr8 decide to drift round a corner when I left the cinemas after watching daybreakers, got very sideways and missed 2 chicks by not much more than a meter didnt get his plates though
  24. The glasses pissed me off and it felt like I was crosseyed for half the film. It pissed me off so much i ended up watching the last half without the glasses on so it was blurry but my eyes didnt burn. Hope this doesnt mean I wont be able to watch 3d shit in the future Storyline was very unoriginal as well felt like a repeat of dances with wolves, pocahontas and probably 5 other hollywood films also had to sit away from my friends cos it was full so we got split up. I sat next to some fattie that farted twice
  25. Could be some sort of interferance? When my neighbour did renovations some of the powertools screwed with the TV reception badly. Does it do it for DVD's/game systems as well?
