Ticking Sound From Turbo/exhaust Area
Trozzle replied to GHT70 R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
whole setup removed, fairly big job. -
Mostly just meets on Friday nights mate. Congrats on the purchase though, I really hope you enjoy owning your skyline. Just be a regular on the forums here, keep up appearances and read/participate in threads - soon you'll get into the loop with our mess and be able to enjoy your car even more with the rest of us!

If it's a wiring issue, I'd assume it's at the ECU end of the wiring...otherwise it's hopefully just a setting. The clutch is definitely engaged from the moment I turn the key to ign. Once it hits ign you can hear the loud click in the A/C pump, and when I start the car the belt squeals like a bitch.
-
When ESP installed the ECU, would they have plugged the correct shit for the A/C back in? Sorry, I haven't seen the plugs for the ECU, so I have no idea if it would be separate, or part of a large plug therefore no way to miss it. Otherwise, once I sort out my other issue with the car (hopefully tomorrow) then I will install the software on my mate's laptop and have a looky
-
Unsure. I just know the tuner told me for some reason the A/C is always on....I took this to mean that the off button does sweet shit all, coz it's never worked....didn't actually think they meant the A/C pump was always working, just figured they meant climate control unit couldn't be turned off. zzz I'll ninja my mate's laptop over the weekend and check out what the ECU has to say I spose.
-
Hey guys, Had a v44 installed over the last week or so, but the software is saying the aircon is turned on....and it is! All the time! Turning A/C off on the climate control unit does nothing, and unfortunately the OFF button is buggered so it's always tuned on anyway....this was never a problem though, as I just set it to 18deg and turned A/C off. Not even sure if the unit is the issue here, as it was fine with stock ECU. Any idea as to what would be causing the A/C to be stuck on all the time after ECU install?

I think I may have temporarily fixed my boost issue. I won't go into detail of what's causing it, but I know what it is just not why it's happening. Dicking with the actuator rod seems to have resolved it, and I'll be putting it on the rollers again Wednesday to have the tune touched up etc. Thanks again to Stao for all the info and support he's given me over the phone
-
Yep. Getting a better idea of what's causing it though, I know exactly why it isn't building boost.
-
hahaha, dunno hey! Ask Stao...but nah it should be the g2 Otherwise just had a bit of a play with the wastegate while on the phone with Stao...I'm gonna need to find a pair of pliers to fiddle with it a bit, it seems to be adjusted correctly but I'm not to happy with the way it moves. I think my workshop have touched something they shouldn't have. That, and my stock BOV appears to now be atmo. lol there's no plumback line
-
Let's not walk past the respectable power output lol. Yeah the bottom end eating poo will obviously be different for everyone, I'm just happy with the power it's on now. Once the response issue is resolved and car is put back on rollers to ensure it doesn't lean out in the new cells on the map, the 284rwkw is a very good number for 15psi imo, considering the specs of the car.
-
Oh yeah, and spoke to the turbo builder. All signs point to an actuator problem, being that it's been adjusted wrong so the wastegate is always open....Glenn is sure that he didn't adjust the rod when they removed the actuator. Gonna do the "fix" at lunchtime if I can find a pair of pliers...otherwise I'll try it tonight. Also I hope it has the 14psi actuator like I asked for, or we're gonna be finding overboost cut very soon lol.
-
I'm not even sure the tuner is comfortable tuning my stock bottom end at that boost level....not to mention I don't particularly want my daily to go pop
-
Well I know the workshop/tuner set a 16psi overboost....so I don't know what I'm gonna do. I'll have to speak to them before I touch anything, coz god knows what the AFR's will be if I let it boost higher. I hope it's not going to need a retune, coz I'm surely not pocketing that as the wastegate was fiddled with by them...if it's going to need a retune, I think I'll just use a 14psi actuator instead and be happy with the 15psi power, coz it is a lot! lol THANKS STAO, I'll watch that now so I know what to do much appreciated!

Spotted me getting my car back this afternoon 284rwkw @15psi. I think ESP stuffed up the actuator adjustments when they removed the bracket for some reason, so it seriously doesn't reach 15psi until 175kph! I'll be fixing up the adjustment in the morning, but I get the feeling this might cause me to see 18psi, which is what I suspect the actuator is lol.
-
ATR43G2 0.82 exhaust 0.60A/R Flow-wise, take that 284rwkw@15psi as capability of the turbo. Just the boost curve is VERY buggered because the actuator was adjusted by accident. I'm taking it back to workshop tomorrow during lunch to see what I can do to have it sorted out, as Stao pretty much explained exactly what the problem is. I might also chuck on a 14psi actuator as I'm second-guessing running 18psi through a stock internal RB25, given that 15psi nets me 284rwkw. Either way, I should be seeing full boost by 125 - 135kph in 4th.
-
I think the workshop muffed up the wastegate rod adjustment, Stao reckons the wastegate is constantly open a little which would explain why it has such horrible boost curve. VERY happy with the outcome thought, 284rwkw at 15psi is nice.

Picking the car up just after 5pm this arvo, will upload pic of dyno printout (if they got one, I hope they did) as soon as I get home. Fark I wish there wasn't so much that went to shit with the car once I dropped it in tho lol, cost of the whole exercise is gonna top $10k

"play" In The Driveline
Trozzle replied to s13-steve's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I can almost 100% guarantee it's the diff. Climb underneath and turn the tailshaft with your hand, you will notice it moves a tiny bit in each direction. It's ok, as long as it doesn't get REALLY loud and really loose. -
If you were at ESP, please tell me my car was there....lol

'nitto' R34 Gtr Wins Powercruise Dyno Comp
Trozzle replied to rad100's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Holy. Shit. Talk about a serious PUNCH, just a shame it takes so long for it....why so little power at 6000rpm though? I mean my R33 pulls harder than that lol -
RL hax bro

I wonder what's going with Kambah then....I would call, but couldn't be muffed.

awesome! so there's no chance of any damage of ANY kind should the mix at the pump change. Just watch the AFR as you leave the station and drive down the road so you know if you should swap maps
