ah ok. Well if you can hold out a little bit (by all means keep looking for something anyway, don't wait for me) until wednesday when the car will be looked at etc at the workshop, I can tell you if that will work. I will admit, I'm fairly ignorant as to what is ACTUALLY on there, and whether or not the cat is flanged or slip/weld on to the front pipe. Especially considering I thought it had an AM dump, and it's now stock, I'm not making any more assumptions lol. Otherwise, if it will work with the workshop, and what I currently have in the way of a front pipe is what you're after (3.5", and flanged at the cat - 3.5" flange) I'm keen to do a swap with you.

My dump is stock, so I don't think you want it 2.5" mild steel, seen 17 years of (ab)use How much would you want for yours? I'd need to get it posted down to Canberra though, so not sure if you're keen to stuff around with that. Also what size is yours and what power you making with it? I just spoke to the tuner though, he said they'd be fine to source an appropriate part for me if needed. More or less my only concern here is that I don't stuff them around and waste their time. As long as they're happy with what's going on, then I'm happy.

yeah the boards went offline - must've shat themselves. They probably had to revert back to a backup from the day before, coz I lost a thread that I made in another section etc.

Yeah all of that is definitely what I would like to happen, as I completely agree that a separate dump/front is a lot better - only problem is finding one. the only separate dump I could find on JJR (which is as far as I've been able to search so far) is a HPI one for $500 ish... I won't make any decisions until I've spoke to my tuner and had his advice on what to buy and where from given to me, as the main reason I want something ASAP is so I don't screw him around any more.

Easy done. JJR 3" mild steel bell mouth dump+front pipe. Now let's hope there isn't any trouble bolting it to the more than likely f**ked cat. But that's the workshop's problem now

Don't have time...didn't expect this situation unfortunately so I'm a bit pressed to find something ASAP. Also, zzzzzzz = snoring, duh. I'll speak to tuner tomorrow morning straight up and see what he says...but looking back through more of the turbo results, enough people are getting more than I aim for with 3" dumps, so I'll probably get the JJR one straight up tomorrow morning.

I can't remember what thread I bumped earlier about this, because forums appear to have reverted or something... While replacing my stock turbo today with a hypergear ATR43G2 (which didn't happen, broke a manifold > turbo stud, and stripped another zzz) it has become apparent that my "full 3.5" exhaust" still retains the stock dump pipe. Since I wish to be flowing 270rwkw/18psi of exhaust gas through this, it's just not going to cut it. I understand so far that I will be getting a bell mouth dump, but I cannot narrow down to WHAT dump, and from WHERE. There is a HPI stainless one on JustJap, but it's pushing $500 for the dump alone, and doesn't even say what size it is...I realise I need a 3.5" dump. Can anyone please point me in the right direction as to what I'm after, and where I should get it from? I need is ASAP too, so I can't really afford to sniff around very much I also looked through the RB25 upgrade thread, and not enough people mention their dump pipe, and certainly not enough people with the same power output I have in mind... clutch out in idle, hear that sound officer? That's the input bearing. Drivable, but can't put load on it (remotely true, lol) Just "give it a problem" that still leaves it roadworthy. Say there's an issue with the lifters, or you've heard an intermittent sound coming from the diff or something. But yeah, I never had any hassles. Just don't attract any attention to yourself during this period.
