  1. I saw a VRYBAD XR6 the other day. It also had VRYBAD rims!
  2. PS my K&N pod is now for sale. $100 with adaptor.
  3. Congrats on the new car! Lots of fun headed your way . Got any pics? A bulb you should be able to get from anywhere Autobarn, Repco, even Kmart.
  4. It makes perfect sense now To all those people with a stock air box and thinking about ditching it for a pod, dont!! I initially had the stock box on with crap filter. I then upgraded to a pod (out of peer pressure really) and was impressed with the performance gains at high revs. I was at Autobarn on the weekend and decided that I'd give the panel a shot just to get some personal closure on the issue. After driving the car round all day with the new panel filter in I cannot understand how I put up with the pod for so long. The car gets-up-and-gos heaps better. The best way to describe it is to have a look at the boost gauge. The needle jumps when you push the throttle, before it was a little limp. A lot more throttle response :uh-huh: and out performs the pod at every rev! Smoother, quieter, stronger application of power... How can anyone argue?!?! Moral of the story: Pods are a complete waste of money without CAI & induction noise is bloody annoying!
  5. This dude has spent over $90,000 and hasnt even driven it???? IDIOT! See what women do to ya! j/k That certainly looks absolutley awesome!
  6. Make sure the new thread is stickied please... PS I want a cap too
  7. If theres any spare I take one... XL preferably. PM please.
  8. I dont trust the drivers of the GTR or GT3. The GTR was taking some of those corners really wide. I thought the Porsche wouldve cleaned up as well. That NSX that won was awesome tho.
  9. Jimbo2000, what was the reason for your mate not to like them? As far as I know (after speaking to several tyre shops) Hankook are one of the better brands of tyres for $$$ going round. I dont think they've been in Australia that long and are still trying to establish a name for themselves.
  10. Hmmm no. The GTR in the Jan 03 edition was not the N1. You're thinking of an earlier issue with the comparison with the HSV.
  11. From Wheels Jan 03: Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R V-Spec: "Mildly modified with a low-restriction air filter, a stormwater-drain exhaust system, and turbo boost pressure nudged to 1.05 bar (15.5psi)" Price $120,000 (est) Power to Weight 131kw/tonne (std) [YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!!] Top Speed 258km/h 0-100 4.50sec 0-400m 12.72 @ 179.8km/h 0-1k 23.13 @ 229.1km/h Honda NSX Bone Stock: Price $256,100 Power to Weight 146kw/tonne [hmmm] Top Speed 245km/h 0-100 6.08sec 0-400m 14.23 @ 160.2km/h 0-1k 25.77 @ 208.4km/h So it would seem that the GTR :Owned: the NSX.... I'm sure I've seen another mag get the NSX faster tho. 0-400 was more like 13.5...
  12. Sounds good... might be my first cruise! Got an estimate of how many kms its gonna be?
  13. First up you'll need $$$$$ Go out and buy the Aug-Sep issue of Speed Mag. They have a 3 stage RB25DET tuning guide from 7 different performance shops. Should help heaps.
  14. Falkens are crap! Just my 2c...
  15. I'm in the market for new tyres and I've found that Hankook seem to be the best value for money going round. I went into a tyre place asking for 255/35/18 Bridgestone S02s (@ ~$600ea) for the rear and was told that the Hankook K104 sport (265/35/18) out-performs them (many other tyre outlets have also backed this up). The best part was the Hankooks were $330ea!! A silica compound at that price impresses me :uh-huh: .
  16. hehe... I love the registration agreement "I agree to the terms and conditions and promise not to be a d!ckhead" lol
  17. gettin lazy in your whoreness? I think the law is good. People should get some experience with normal everyday driving before becoming schumy. The way its governed & enforced is a joke tho. Too many loop holes that cant provide a definite yes or no to what cars are actually allowed.
  18. Now that looks impressive. When I put my pod on I noticed a drop in bottom end torque but once the revs got up i could feel it was a bit better (which makes sense as the pod has a bigger surface area than the stockie). A few people have metioned that the stock intake has been designed really well (which makes a lot of sense since any R&D dept of any car manufacturer is full of $$$). So, bigger surface area + well designed intake = the way to go. Yes?
  19. Let me guess, lots of poping in the exhaust as well? I'd be regapping the plugs. It'll take about 1.5 hours and you wont believe the difference. For a 'stockish' car I now believe that this is one of the most important things to get right if you want to optimize the performance. Different plugs will need to be gapped to different levels. If you start it up and it sounds like there is a marble rolling round in there SWITCH IT OFF. This means they've been gapped too far (ie you'll need to increase the gap). 0.85mm should be good enough. Copper plugs may handle a smaller gap (0.7-0.8). I still cant believe that 0.1 of a mmm can make such a HUGE difference!
  20. Warrick: Was there a noticeable increase in power/performance?
  21. I'm planning to get a new set of rubber soon. I've been looking at Hankook K104 Sport. 265/35/18 @ $330 for rear and 235/40/18 @ 250 for the front. Silica compond at that price impresses me.
  22. I changed my spark plugs last week to NGK Platinums and I must say I was impressed with how smooth the engine was revving. However, at night, after about 4500rpm it started coughing, spluttering and running really rough. I have had this problem in the past but it wasnt quite as bad and occurrences were few and far between, so I didnt think much of it. It was just strange how it only happened at night. At first I thought maybe it was running a bit lean, but thank god the problem was much simpler than that. I remembered this thread and how rev210 had his plugs gapped to 0.70mm. I checked my new plugs and found that they were 1.1mm (which I was told is standard?). So I regapped them to 0.75mm. Bad idea! Sounded like the engine was running on 2 cylinders. I then regapped them to 0.85mm and all I can say is MY GOD! The car has never, never, EVER been this smooth all the way to the readline. The application of power is incredible, the engine sounds better, and I can feel a slight increase in performance. I cannot recommend this more to anyone! If you've got copper plugs I'd gap them to 0.7-0.8 and if platinums 0.8-0.9. You wont believe the difference :uh-huh: . Now, more than ever, traction is my worst enemy.
  23. No need to get all defensive. I was JOKING!! Lighten up!
