  1. Hello Bud, when you say S2 auto I presume you mean Tiptronic. If this is the case then an R34 Skyline GTT ECU should work. I know for a fact that the Auto & Tiptronic ECU`s are incompatible to run their gearboxes if changed over. BUT if your S2 is either manual or tiptronic the skyline GTT ECU will bolt straight in & work. I have here in the UK both a NISTUNE S2 TIPTRONIC ECU & also a skyline GTT standard ECU - I think it is tiptronic & not manual = I would need to check & remind myself as had for years .   2. BC`s are the top choice as they seem to effect caster/camber/toe less than the rest when lower . Cusco are very stiff compared to BC . GAB`s were good before they started leaking .
  3. tIt seems that my MAF`s are on the way out . On checking the part numbers it seems that I have Nismo MAF`s 22680-RR580 , can i remove these and fit a pair of R34 MAF`s 22680-05U00 . As far as i know the ECU is stock and there is no piggy back ECU so I presume that other than the aftermarket turbos it is all stock , I am running stock boost system to . Any help would be appreciated as this is my daily driver with the stagea being off the road .my MAF`s are on the way out .   4. just thinking out load can only think the adaptronic 440 is messing with the ECU signal to the gearbox ECU gearbox cant handle the power and has gone into limp mode ? your description of " slip and grind while turning sharply at low speed" sounds like the diff lock was engaged ( button on dash ) i have fitted a nistuned S2 ECU in my S1 and it worked the gears ONCE and then nothing , only third gear not sure i helped but maybe it has jogged something
  5. how do you intend to wire in the Power FC ? do you have an FC from a 34GTT skyline ? and what code number is your stagea ECU ? Can you digress on which squirrel trick ?

  9. I HAVE and am RUNNING an R34 GTT HKS piggy back loom , using an F-con iS !! The HKS loom is a direct fit WITH MY ECU ! ( 3 / 4 types ! - I hear say it makes a difference ! ) As the loom only uses some wires ! , IT DOSE NOT EFFECT RUNNING of ancillaries ( air con etc ) . I am still running auto box .

  11. would the scrub radius be pacified by adjusting the camber angle ? not necessarily the standard camber setting !! , but a re-calculated angle to account for the offset change / or indeed lowering of the vehicle - different size tyres are said to contribute to the scrub effect . I now run 25mm spacers on the front of my RSV4 S1 ET43 8.5" - and it was the best thing i did so far ..... Cured my horrible understeer .. and improved the look I have adjustable suspension all round and I am low , BUT running standard caster / camber / toe in/out measurements . However on uneven roads it dose tend to wander off . So now i am wondering If another angle for the caster , other than standard , is worth a try ( $130 bucks a shot in UK !! ) this i would think may also include toe angle ? and may help with the original questions issue

RB owners will not be impressed with the fitting of a 26 in a stagea ! , as stated the NEO25 is a far superior engine when tuned - fitting twin turbo`s and a 6 speed gearbox is worth a silent nod ! a rear wheel drive stagea with over 250whp that can be driven in the wet and not crashed would also be impressive

Gearbox mounts will be different - prop shaft will need work - you will need the ECU AND internal wiring loom that plugs into ECU , and the under bonnet wiring loom from R34 GTR as there are pin differences ! , the ECU from 34GTR will not fit Stagea ECU plug , GTR is blue plug and Stagea grey - you will need a bigger fuel pump - AND YOU WILL NEED BETTER BRAKES !!! MY GTR BRAKES WITH PROJECTMU PADS ARE STILL NOT ENOUGH !! Here in UK we have a V8 Stagea - a 2.8 HKS stroker and a stock gearboxed 500BHP RB25DET - + some Autec`s Its all been done before XCEPT 6 speed as far as i know ...
  14. Thanks for the info - very useful Unfortunately in the UK IT SEEMS ( disclaimer ! ) Tuners are more snobby about what they tune and what they tune with ! EG .... We only tune GTR35`s We don`t tune Auto`s WE don`t Tune that system So I have found a tuner that will roll my AWD Auto - I have brought a HKS F-con iS - because HE can tune HKS F-con ! the optional OSC cant be used according to him , and he will have to fool the ECU signal to the MAF - he has stated that the usual z32 MAF upgrade cant be used !? and I have `pig`ed` it in with an R34GTT HKS NP5-8 loom .   15. I am about to send my Stagea to have the mods tuned . I have heard it is a pain to tune auto`s ! , but have also heard that some tuners can LOCK the autobox in 3rd for tuning !! ?? Is this possible or an old wifes tale
  16. MAY it is ! given that there are forum reports that there are 3 types of ECU fitted to the S 1 Stagea ........ it is a long road of many dead ends . BUT .... I have what i believe the solution sat in my car at the moment !! BUT..... finding a tuner in the UK that LIKES !? OR CAN !! tune an HKS F/con IS THE ISSUE ! I have fitted and run an R34 GTT piggyback `loom and HKS F/con unit` WITH NO ISSUE TO GEARBOX OR ENGINE ..... BUT ..... I have been told that MY HKS will not hold a map !? So I KNOW it works BUT I will either need a tuner that knows his stuff - and can fix issues ( UK do not have software or speak Japanese so without English instructions or a program MOST tuners will not touch !! ) or to buy another NEW HKS F/con that is both in English and in a tuners list of can do . My thinking ALOUD above is more of a starting point as to if any are indeed possible !, EG .. with an ECU and loom from an R33 auto 2.5DET 4WD would it not match both engine and gearbox ? BUT as pointed out above from KiwiRS4T " And don't you need to rule out all R33 ECU`s as there is no Nistune board for them? " SO I am learning ! ( only owned 32`s ! and Stagea`s ) in my learning I hope i am not giving anyone the shits would that then open the door to running an R32 auto 4WD ECU ? with a 32 ECU loom ? 20DET and 25DET should not be an issue !

A Stagea S1 auto with an R34 piggy back loom and piggy back ECU management system will work - there are no miss matched wires - DUE MAINLY because the pig loom only uses a select few wires to change parameters . Leaving the ECU and original wiring system alone . A Stagea S2 ECU will work and be nistuneable in an S1 Stagea that runs a manual conversion - there maybe an issue with pin 51 and a resistor needed ! . As for Air-con Rev counter ETC. I do not know . The R34 GTT ECU should IN THEORY !! - run a MANUAL converted S1 ! - this dose not mean that the air con , Rev Counter - ETC will function correctly . My thinking is now Using an ECU that can be nistuned from an R32/R33 RB25det/RB20DET 4WD Auto ( pref 1996 ) , and changing the grey plug wiring loom to a blue plug wiring loom from said series 2 R33 or R32 - the 4WD Autobox SHOULD be the same as the Stagea ( tiptronic IS NOT SIMILAR to Stagea autobox ) trying to find an auto 4WD R33 ECU is proving difficult ! R32 has a few options BUT will there be an issue with S1 and S2 RB engine management ?? , I know that R32 have an ignition pack on top of the coil pack cover ! would this create an issue Here are some ECU`s that SHOULD !!! work if Nistuned in an S1 Automatic Stagea - if I am wrong please state !!   19. Car is now on way back to me ! ON A TRAILER . Ben is correct !! although S2 ECU will run the engine IT WILL NOT RUN S1 Autobox . So somehow the tuner managed to rolling road it - with his turbo !! - and get 398.8BHP at the fly ( torque converter ) ........ hence i say that the tuner IS A TUNER and He did his job ! BUT .......... I still dont know how a rolling road works and produces a figure when the gearbox is not working correctly ?? although I Have heard that tuners LOCK ?? gearbox in 3rd and tune !? The tuner later told me that the Turbo actually fitted was a T25/28 unit , and my 6 bolt elbow was removed as the wastegate fouled on the elbow port , thus me being told by another person ( normally spot on with his RB info ! ) that it must have been a T2 turbo fitted ( T2 being manifold flange size ) from an RB26DETT twin set up ! What i don`t understand is how my `none working` car was handed back to me with no power and a print out for 398.8bhp !! I also still don`t understand why when i returned to the yard moments later no one was interested to know why i was back and what was wrong ! So I was left £1,800 lighter ! , with a car that was slower than when i drove in 6 months earlier !! ?? I did however receive a Scratched bonnet - broken window wind deflector ( irreplaceable ) - a dead alternator from over using the boost pack ( verified possible by other mechanics !! ) - and a dead battery which was brand new when i dropped it off . AND ADD A £100.00 FINE FROM DVLA , as they did not insure my car while it was there , as i asked them to ! , "normal practice for ALL garages if your car is to be with them for some time" . Both covers damage done !!! LOL and for testing on road - AT NO EXTRA COST TO THEM EITHER!!! I was offered £50 off for this damage ! I DO HOPE THIS IS THE END OF THE THREAD !!! HA BLOODY HA
  20. I have run an R34 GTT HKS loom and HKS FCON piggy back to a stock S1 Stagea ECU . Everything worked , I did not try the Air con though . FCON would not hold a map so I Nistuned an S2 ECU and fitted that . It has several issues , STILL HAS !! ..... PIN 51 NEEDED A RESISTOR - and now gearbox ( AUTO ) has an issue with ECU - or just an issue ! . I can say that a GTT HKS FCON that was plugged into a stock S1 Stagea ECU using the HKS double plug loom worked - an S2 ECU with a Nistune board fitted RUNS an S1 Stagea but it has gearbox issues = tiptronic and Auto seem conflicted ! this issue is under investigation so i will update when i know ..
  21. I have actually built 3 RB engines , and many other types of engines , starting with bikes at 12 yrs old , so inexperience is not an issue but KNOWING WHAT TURBO to fit is another ball game . I trusted the tuner to fit His turbo AGAINST MY SUGGESTION of upgrading the rear turbine on my already flowed Turbo Unit as I had not heard any bad things about him = ONLY THAT = He dose himself no favours !! My lack of correctly naming an RB26 and RB25 seems to be my down fall and amusing to some , I have no idea what the dimensions of the RB26 `flowed`/ Hybrid turbo that was fitted by tuner , NOT THROUGH LACK OF ASKING EITHER !! , the only thing i can say is that it was not a 6 bolt elbow fixing unit !!!! , and until i pick the car up i will not know the dimensions of the Turbo i fitted = MY China Turbo was built by an employee of RSP ... and all this info went with last failed PC ! . but the minuet i get wagon back i will check turbo sizes out . and START AGAIN .82 was looking at this - any thoughts ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200936427733?_trksid=p2055120.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  22. I will say that my loss of confidence has nothing to do with the skill that is possessed in this man`s tuning ability ! . To get 398.9bhp from a single RB26 turbo on an RB25 is impressive ! many speak / write about 350bhp max for this set up . BUT It just dose not work on the road with an auto box - if you cant pull away from a ford focus ST170 that has a slight missfire ! then there is something drastically wrong . Hence why i asked BADLY this question
  23. sorry , all my english is UK english ! when i say hybrid turbo i mean flowed or having a new cartridge with alterations , the rb25det T3 mounted china bodied turbo was built by RSP in UK , replacing the cartridge but leaving stock turbine and compressor casings . It was fitted and ran for 1,000 miles before being removed and replaced with this flowed rb26 single unit . thank you GTscotT and jay-rod 1st to offer any advise ! superben ... try calling him at work IT DONT HAPPEN , pull your head in
  24. i thought i may get some help and ideas about my situation . I have not mentioned or mouthed off about the tuner at any point !! i just asked "BADLY ACCORDING TO OTHERS" will a single RB26 turbo( modded) - ! give usable 400bhp on an rb25 running an auto box ? I only used T2 and T3 as others in UK call them that , if you want to help and answer the simpler question then thanks . But if you just want to gloat , put words in my mouth and try to make others look inept then go to another thread and hate there . I was expecting more from SAU .
