  1. Last week I changed fluids in both my diffs and transmission using Willall R35 product. It is now impossible to smoothly move off the line no matter how I try to feather the accelerator. My car does three little jerks everytime I take off! Only if I am pointing downhill and it starts rolling forward by itself at idle, can I smoothly accelerate and there is no "bunny hop". Otherwise it is "three hops and go" every time! Alteranatively, if I just stomp on the gas, it forgets to hop three times too. I cannot detect any other "benefit" (?) in my daily driving so I hope it's been worth risking losing my warranty over this little exercise.... Hopefully it will prove it's worth on the track. Has anyone tried adjusting the clutch settings to get rid off this light swich "on-off-on-off-GO" response from the tranny after filling with Willall fluids?
  2. I forgot to mention it was Premium Gun Metallic for 180K.
  3. Which dealer was that, Norfolk Island? You can get a Gunmetallic Grey (extra cost) for $180K on the road from Col Crawford Lifestyle Cars in Brookvale, Sydney. Ask for Alex PS. What options...floor mats or a tankful of fuel?
  4. Ha ,ha, ha, After reading my earlier post, you should have looked up "IRONY" on Wikipedia and not taken yourself so seriously. Elitest f**kwits? I think you meant ELITIST...yes, now I guess I am, for pointing it out. I belong to several other forums with a much broader model range than SAU with 4: R32, R33, R34 and R35 stretched over 20 years. All owners of a particular model "own" that particular sub-forum but not the whole Forum. All others are considered visitors and are most welcome to contribute their experience and knowledge as long as they do not become obnoxious, abusive, rude and resenful, like you obviously are. When you come to an "open house" party, you are most welcome, until you start making rude remarks about the owner's choice of wine, the free food you've stuffed your gob with or his wife's boob job.
  5. +1 I am getting sick of all the Datsun 120Y trolls too...
  6. +1 This forum (R35) is being over-run by trolls who have no hope in hell of ever convincing a dealer to let them test drive the GT-R, let alone actually owning this glorious example of Japanese automative technology. There should be a law against squatters who gate crash our exclusive club of selected and proud R35 owners, as they rudely interfere with our mutual back slapping and auto admiration. It really pisses me off to read all this pointless speculation, criticism and bitchiness coming from people who drive Datsuns 120Y with a hair drier for a bolt-on turbo.... OK, everyone, you can all start kicking me now
  7. No we should not try emulating Suzuki San, he is taking the piss out of all of us. He was forced into this technique by the crazy artificial race line marked by the witches hats, which I suspect were deliberately placed in such a way. Check out Turn 2 for instance. He seems to take three turns around that bend. Who does that around a hair pin? There are others too, where he is forced toward a false apex far too early and then has to flick it to go around it. Just my impressions. His car is totally unsettled half the time.
  8. I would call it "running sub-10's" but it is a matter of convention, I guess. Thanks.
  9. Please don't shoot me but isn't 9.89 sec actually 10sec in anybody's language other than a drag racer's? I am fascinated how everybody calls an 11.99 sec pass an 11 sec achievement! No, it is not. That minor detail of 0.99 sec is 55m difference or 12 car lengths at 400m mark. It does sound a lot better in the pub, I do admit.
  10. Gee, I love to see cars referred to as "she" again rather than a plain "it"... giving a chunk of metal a female gender makes me feel all excited...
  11. I meant no offence. I am certainly not the type of person who likes to get ripped off by anybody but I would only take my car to Perfect Auto Body in Sydney, who are the only factory approved shop equipped to rebuild the car to factory specs, respray the whole side, front to rear if you only get a door scratched and to apply the hard ceramic clear coat on a Mercedes. Try doing that in a small panel shop or in your garage with a "graffiti special" Repco can of Duco. I am sure that you know how to look after your 20 year old car and respray it the traditional way, as it should be done, with unlimited time on your hands and no expense spared as it is your baby. However, the modern paint process, especially with the Premium Silver, is not as straight forward as bare metal re-spray, with 10 coats and wet paper buff in between until all orange peel is gone and the paint is totally flat and 1mm thick!. I am sure that you could respray his car, given enough time and effort, but can the bloke down the road match the factory finish on Premium Silver? Very unlikely. I have seen enough metallic grey/silver cars on the road with every door a different shade of silver.
  12. Now, that is a bold statement by someone who drives a 15 year old car. I don't mean to me rude, but there is a bit more to a good paint finish on a premium car than you seem to think. If he takes your off the cuff advice, he sure deserves what's coming to him.
  13. Aren't the last two statements mutually contradictory...?
  14. Well, to continue worshipping you, perhaps he should wear a helmet the next time he does 250 kph.... or is this picture off Mt.Panorama? LOL
  15. Tongue in cheek about weight savings ? Who, moi? Last Wednesday at EC Burrows Drive day I did 50.0 l/100 (have photo to remember it) after lunch. How long would a half full tank last? 1 session max. I must have had a very fast, clear run because I did 1:45 when all my other laps in heavy traffic were 1:51 - 1:53. Maybe I "cheated", I am a bit dubious about my timing skills using the on-board stop watch.
  16. Don't forget to only half fill your tank... you save even more weight and money too
  17. I am happy to announce that after 4 weeks, my friend's car is back on the road with a brand spanking new transmission succesfully installed! Well done Nissan! We both went for a nice Australia Day drive on the Old Pacific Hwy from Berowra to Somersby and back. His GT-R needs to be run in again but it had no trouble keeping up with me in the 60km zone... It is probably one of the best twisty roads in Sydney and we both stuck to the posted speed limits at all times!
  18. $1992... ? who is it with, if you don't mind me asking? I am paying $2750 to Suncorp Metway with max life time NCB and a perfect driving record. And I am not 26 either!
  19. I honestly never knew that, just wasn't in the JDM market. OK, pull the fuse out a bit longer...
  20. Factor in another $26000 for a new transmission, which is bound to fail within 3 years. 2008 car already has two years under the belt so you will buy a time bomb with no factory warranty and a 1 year fuse which has already been lit by some kamikaze in Tokyo with a need for speed. I suggest you get very friendly with Martin at Willall Racing, you will be needing his services, sooner rather than later.
  21. I certainly wouldn't creep under a 1800kg (less 4 wheels!) car standing on 4 matchsticks. That is exactly how my wife became an orphan at 8 months. Sorry mate, you should think of your beautiful son, it's not worth the risk!
  22. Thanks for your honesty. At last...it took 200+ views to get some feedback! LOOKs good or PERFORMs better? I think this one LOOKS fantastic, so nice and shiny and without any of those short titanium section welds every few centimeters. Unfortunately no matter how lovely it looks you only get to see it for a few minutes max and then the hoist goes down and the show is over for good... As for all those "weight savings" achieved with fashionable titanium bits, next time fill the tank with 10litres less fuel and you will save $15 and 7.5kg straight away...LOL When it comes to the price, it's negotiable, provided it goes to a good home.
  23. 202 views, 250 R35 GT-Rs in the country and not one bite? Am I selling it too cheap or is the quality too high?
