Turbo X-trail
StealthX replied to StealthX's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Not really too much to report. Got my oil leak and burning oil problem fixed. The oil drain was leaking from under the turbo and where it goes back into the block. Got a stainless braided -12 line Now doesn't leak or burn any oil! engine bay smells like engine now, instead of burning oil. haha Saving up some coin for my wheels, tyres, and coil overs ATM. Waiting for my tax return to go through, then I'll get my Drift Teks and tyres. Then need a bit more coin for my coilovers, $2600 including installation, dump it and set up for nice balanced handling - no more under steer! Then my long term (12 months) list involves: -New rear diff, 4wd system is f**ked. -Body work: paint the front bar, fix up rear passenger side door from when the car fell off jacks haha -Different dump pipe: To fix boost creep. -Install fuel pressure regulator: fix leaning out at top end. -Boost controller to run just under a bar of boost. nice FLAT 12psi would be ideal. -200awkw tune I'll post pics of my wheel ASAP! cant wait. -
when you guys say 4, 6, 7 etc.. that's bar right? my x-trail is a bit strange, I have almost 140 psi (9.6 bar) then down to 25psi (1.7 bar) when warm Normal but strange.

Dunno, may have just been a dodgy guy, but my mum's old VL had epic problems after a steam clean. Bad misifre, f**ked coils, crank angle sensor f**ked up, needed heaps of shit repaired. but yeah, that might've been just a dodgy experience with a shit cleaner. Just degreaser and hose the easy bits (battery tray, radiator and support, overflow bottle) then get a rag, degreaser and an old toothbrush, and get some elbow greaser into the tricky parts (coils, intake manifold, timing cover) I hate having gunk and shit stuck everywhere, and dust on everything, makes your engine look soo shitty. Clean bays FTW

With all the supporting mods, a ZOOM feature car made 630rwhp from an internally stock RB25 neo. But it won't last at all. For reliable power, I'd suggest no more than 450. It also depends how your engine makes this power (boost, fuel type, headwork/cams etc). i.e. 20psi from a GT3076 compared to 15psi from a GT3582, obviously 15psi puts less strain on the motor's internals.
-
This thread brings teh lolz! RB25 neos can hold about 400-450, but 500 is pushing it. Not trying to be a prick, but if you have to ask, 500hp isn't for you, your budget, or your car bro...

Yeah looks pretty big! Hard to tell from the pics how big it is cos there's nothing to scale it to. I'm gonna hazard a very loose guess and say it's an apexi turbo. That compressor housing doesn't look very Garrett/hks/Mitsubishi, but does look similar to other alexi turbos I've seen. Check the turbo all over for part numbers and chuck them in to google, see what they come up with! Do you have any specs? I.e. Exhaust flange size, exhaust wheel size, compressor wheel size etc? That should give ya an idea of how laggy/powerful it'll be. I'd recommend nistune daughter board, soo easy! Just send off your stock ECU, give em some time and then you'll have a tunable ECU that is cheaper, more effective and allows you to retain factory driveability and all the sensors, compared to other computers. That split pulse exhaust housing is pretty good too, should spool up a little quicker than normal. Good luck dude!

Yeah +1 on info of the car... Check your intake piping, there might be a leak somewhere. Also check for exhaust leaks, stranger things have happened... Does the car have any other symptoms? I.e. Power loss, rough idling, stalling etc?

Anyone Have Some Advice On Lisence
StealthX replied to Proximity Motorsport's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I dont like your chances dude, unfortunately they will just use the "shouldda thought of that before you drove like that" excuse. Take lube to court. Lots of lube. Double your orignal punishmet and that's when you'll get your license back, then add the fine for the 33km/h over... Good luck dude. P.S. Been in this situaion before with a 3 month suspension, there's no way around it. -
sneaky edit! haha all joking man... try x-treme clutches for the fly. they sell flywheels for RB20s..

I spent a few dollars passing some paperwork ready for the IM240, $20.47 IIRC, I will definitely be writing to the transport authority requesting reimbursement. I doubt I'll succeed but ehh... I just wanna get up in their grill for being dickheads about the whole thing. Its funny the dealings I had with KEC were nice and friendly, right up until I mentioned the car in question, then all I got was negativity and cvnts laughing at me. The jokes on them considering the outlay they must've spent for the equipment ($400,000+), that is now useless, not to mention the profit they won't be getting now hahahah moooowaahahah!

Another Another Quick Question :) - Use The Search Function
StealthX replied to Curtis.Cow's topic in Western Australia
lol if only it was that easy!!! There's no fun in that at all though! Half the fun of building a fun/fast car is failing the first time then fixing something yourself and reaping the benefits! -
haha yeah, I loved how the engines they built always seemed to pass, some even with retro fitted carbies over an efi system! Lol what a joke! I even heard rumors of a special cam design for Holden 5L and 355 strokers that were advertised to make stupid power levels and still be compliant...
-
Welcome brother! Good luck with your s13! P.S. your English is pretty good! better than some Australians here even! haha
-
Do you want a lightweight flywheel? or an R32 GTR Bonnet? or both? Comma in the topic might help Consider: "Let's eat grandma!" or "Let's eat, grandma!" Punctuation saves lives.
-
@ 9:23 That is the angriest engine I've EVER heard...
-
1psi won't make a difference to your tune, and i dont think that 1psi will make the difference so stop rich and retard, so I'd suggest dropping the boost by 2psi increments untill you feel the car has a smoother power band and it's not hitting r+r anymore.

the IM240 test is/was an emissions test. Basically it was stupidly hard to pass (some cars from failed the test from the factory) and there was only one place in WA that could perform the testing. It costs anywhere from $900 for a standard 4cyl small car, to $3000+ If you fail and need work done to pass it. Another thing is the place that performed the testing wasn't run by the government, so can be pretty unfair. Also they only have a 2WD dyno so full time AWD cars like evos, wrxs, landcruisers etc couldn't be tested! It was just another bit of ammo that the cops could use to attack modified car enthusiasts, cos any exhaust or performance modifications needed to be tested! sick! you'll love it GL
-
Depends how much powaaar you wanna make bro... I'd recommend a GT3076r for up to 450hp. i think that's close to a 2540 from HKS? dunno could be wrong. Garret turbos are better than HKS, HKS just grab Garrett turbos, a few mods and a change of name and sell for $500 more!!!?!?! Not perfectly bolt on, but welll worth it!!
-
R35 Stagea is hot like this too!
-
Yeah I'd suggest getting a bit of exhaust work done while you're there (if it's the stock system and cat) and go for an aftermarket dump and front pipe. You'll gain HEAPS of power with that and the new turbo! Otherwise I'd get a new cat, for flow reasons, it might look fine, but its old and prob not working the best way possible... What turbo you going to get? I'd STRONNNNGLY recommend a Garret spend the extra dough and get the best quality!
-
Hate to point is out, but that's probably most of the problem. What's you boost control like? (i.e. manual boost tee, EBC, upgraded actuator???)
-
FARRRRK YEAH! Not to fly my own flag, but I'm stoked to say i was a part of this bullshit coming down. If anyone has Zoom issue 146, you can read my 2 page article on page 96 Everyone can breathe easy now, just hopefully the government will learn from their mistakes, cos no doubt that failure of a testing regime cos the tax payer thousands... (unlikely though...) YEWWW!

Can someone explain what a clublock is???

FARKING DOGS! Hope you find it and those thieving cvnts get what's coming to them... Good luck! p.s. I'll keep an eye out from Perth, but I doubt it'll help much haha Post this on every car forum you can think of, get it out there...
