  1. Yeah PFCs are good, no wiring needed so it saves you a fair bit there. Almost every tuner tunes them, the only downside is they aren't sold by apexi anymore (f**k knows why) so you'll need a second hand one. Nistune is another option, they are a daughter board that installs onto your stock ECU and allows you to tune from there. Depends what sort of power you want in the end. I'm gonna make a risky call here: stock -> 300kw: nistune. stock -> 400kw: PFC 400kw and up: PFC D-jetro (different model that allows you do ditch the AFMs and use MAP sensors as the load source... Heaps of other options, like haltech, EMS, volf, etc... But Nistune and PFC are your best options IMO.

  3. Yeah, or shoddy EBC wiring? Cracked boost line(s)? Go over everything to do with boost control, with a fine tooth comb. i.e. hoses, wiring, actuator, EBC itself etc...

  7. AWD's against the regulations dude, car has to be RWD, open wheeler. Our car has the CBR600 motor in it too, mounted on a transaxle in the rear obviously, carbon fiber shell, carbon intake manifold, mountain bike shocks and hundreds of man hours of engine dyno time and suspension tuning.
  8. These men speak the truth! There's good arguments either way, it's probably easier to just do an engine swap or buy a GT-T, but it's definitely do-able to turbo the N/A. I've done the same thing in my car, it's a pain in the ass, but I've had 20,000kms with no issues, with almost double the factory power and 12psi.
  9. Straight from the ignition barrel, that runs my turbo timer and 3 gauges. Should be a green wire I think, but don't quote me on that.
  10. Hate to drop this to ya dude, but I'm gonna call - big end bearings. A damaged bearing would sound like you're describing, with how it slightly goes away when you stab the throttle and up the revs. I doubt it'd be turbo related.
  11. AFM, boost leak, or vacuum leak. sounds like an easy fix. if not, maybe fuel pump?

  13. Is it possible to tell just from a pic like that?? Either way, they're not factory, so my guess is they are. Wind in 20psi of boost and try to tune it, you'll soon find out :\
  14. Yeah, nothing wrong with it as far as I can tell. But with one muffler and no cat, it'll still be fkn loud on the quiet setting... I'd suggest a decent sized resonator after the muffler, and still well out of sight of the tail pipe, then make the tail pipe as close to stock looking as possible... Good ideas mate!
  15. aerostart or some sort of flammable spray, spray around the plenum when the idle changes, you've found your hot spot...
  16. Nah lazy coils will cause misfires, not a straight power loss... Plugs look fine, so long as the conductors are still in tact, and the plug isn't wet or covered in unburnt fuel. Checked the BOVs yet? Start there. BTW A small leak in a vac line won't flow anywhere near enough air for you to even feel a power loss.
  17. A true bogan/meathead is defined by his(/her?) actions. Short temper, quick to resort to violence, uneducated, lacking in common sense, enjoys boobs, beers and burnouts etc... The bogan stereotype transcendes gender, race and socio-economic status. i.e. a rich asian driving a GTR, can still be a 'bogan/meathead'. Everyone can picture the bogan's appearance, but I a bogan isn't defined by their physical appearance. I've got tattos and stubble and I enjoy beer, but I definitely wouldn't classify myself as a bogan... I have longer hair than most, I enjoy electro music and I don't drive a V8 commodore/falcon, my car infact gets labelled as 'gay' almost every time I drive on the streets, and not to fly my own flag, but I'm university educated and I'm not a brick layer. Disclaimer: Not saying there's ANYTHING wrong with a brick layer, just that most carry the attributes listed above and therefore render themselves, bogans. And I agree that any car can house a dickhead driver, it just seems that commonwhores seem to attract more, on average. What's the difference between a porcupine and a Holden? The pricks are on the inside. but I digress...
  18. Yeah same, I'm confused as to why you think 21psi falling to 14psi is okay? You're loosing all your precious boost at redline! If you fixed up your boost control and run a flat 21psi, you'd make in the region of 350hp I reckon... For the record, my car runs a .64 2860rs, 12psi nets me 255 all paw hp. That's not an rb25 yeah, it's a qr25, still 2.5, so my figure's at least somewhere in your ballpark...
  19. Yeah bro, chuck it on a dyno, will solve all your problems. Dunno if you know, but new model dynos have special sensors that are put in your exhaust, helps permanently suck out more exhaust gas. More air out = mor air and fuel in = more powarrrr... Lol jks seriously though, running your car in a dyno isn't gonna do shit. All itll tell you is your car is making 150-170hp at the wheels... And by the sounds of it (youve described nothing mechanical at all, just winged about how you got beaten by a BMW.) there isn't anything real wrong with your car so a dyno run is wasted money. It's a non turbo skyline, they're not designed to be fast. Save up and buy a GTT when you're off your p plates.

  21. He had enough time to stop the car infront of mine, get out and attempt to bash me before i reversed back and drove off. He had been drinking, and was quite easily twice the size of me, I didn't wanna even try to fight him. I'm not a fighting type, I don't resolve things with fights, that's what animals do. I doubt he was simply in a hurry. I didn't refuse to get out of his way either, i was minding my own business doing almost 5km/h over the limit, for the most part, there was a free lane beside me... So it's my fault is it? I refuse to take things sitting down. If I let things go like this, he would've certainly done a similar things to other people. That's how cvnts like this get away with this sh!t... If nothing happens by the books, I may or may not have to take other action, mark my words.

Yeah I've got a few contacts, my girlfriend's mum works for the DPI may or may not be able to find his address, rest assured if this goes any further I'll be deleting this thread, cos it may or may not get ugly. I was in the left lane the whole time. I've made an official complaint online and reported the incident in person @ Joondalup cop shop, I guess I'll just have to cop it on the chin and deal with it myself if the police can't do anything by the book. Does anyone know a method of tracing such a number plate to find an address of some sort? Prob not the smartest way to go about this, it may come back to bite me, but, f**k it.
