  1. if you privatize driver testing but with strict oversight, the problems with booking tests and waiting times will be greatly reduced. government run organizations have NO incentives to serve you quickly, you have no choice but to wait.
  2. watched a taxi driver reverse up warrigal road, around midday. i blasted him with my air-horns to avoid him. im sure he got the message. edit: fk im tired. thought this was post the worst driver of the week
  3. it's a good idea. -benefits people who don't drive on fwys often or only use certain fwys. (for one, i rarely use the monash or any of the west side fwys.) -helps new drivers, drive instead of reading signs. numbering system is far easier to read, if you know you want to take exit 8 and you just passed exit 5, you don't have to be in the left lane just yet. only requires a glance. -helps asians get in the correct fking lane. -reduces complexity of directions. (jump on the monash from warrigal, take exit 13....) -helps interstate drivers and tourists. if i went up to sydney, it would be nice to read an easy numbering system instead of replying on names i wont remember and have no need remembering.
  4. -User pays -create a licensing system for private companies to test people, make sure there's strict regulations. with increased demand, supply will increased. -every 5 years -dramatic change the license testing though. far too much focus on rules instead of actually learning how to drive.

    Basic Tune?

i know this really isn't for forum for it but i trust SAU more then commo forums. looking for a tuner that can adjust AFRs and remove a crappy "powerchip" from a VN commodore. it's a wagon and useful for moving stuff but the fuel efficiency is ridiculously poor, something must be off and i suspect the "powerchip" has something to do with it. considering it's old, was installed back in the early 90s. any tuners that would be willing to take a look at it? how much ya think it ll cost?
  6. how about a comparison with super vs turbo chargers on smaller engines? r25/6 or sr20 since that's what the majority here have. there's a vid floating around with a s15 running a turbo and super setup, making around 300kw. (if i recalled correctly)
  7. my point was design efficiency. by using exhaust gas pressure, turbos are using some of the wasted energy from the engine. sure it does increase back pressure but compared to the loss of a supercharger, turbo is more efficient. though, im not a mechanical or thermal engineer, so i cant do the math to prove it.
  8. but overall, turbo is more efficient. vast majority of the worlds trucking fleets run, turbo diesels. there's now even more small cars with turbo diesels for that extra efficiency.
  9. i have 17x9.5+19 on my s14. guards just need a minor roll.
  10. there's strong links between psychopaths and animal cruelty, while far more common in males still possible this girl is.
  11. yet he was impounded for the speeding. ill start respecting road laws when drink driving is an impound offense.
  12. this is taking about the efficiency of creating the increased pressure. turbos are powered from exhaust gases, so are kinda "free" power so to speak. while superchargers are using the engine to create the power but at the same time, drawing some of it for themselves. so it doesn't matter how the car is driven, the engine is less efficient or slightly restricted by the supercharger because of the increase inertial forces required to turn the engine. as said before this leads to a less responsive engine and less gains from peak revs. if you're driving hard, lag should be no issue and if it is, your revs are far too low also, if you're running 1bar on a supercharger, it's still going to take some revs to produce that much pressure. down low is better but it's not perfect.
  13. shocking troll effort, didn't even sound half convincing.
  14. cramped would be putting it lightly im 6"1, would need a seat of the floor just to fit into the car and that's ignoring the poor pedal setup. such a car wasn't designed for "tall" people.
  15. ignoring the N/A restriction (not sure why you want N/A ) -s13 -s14 -180sx -mx5 (with turbo they can achieve good times. ) -rx7, fc -r32 -r33 some of those cars are available in N/A however, without the turbos, times wont be anywhere near as impressive.
  16. i can imagine a good few of then ending up as wrecks.
  17. get some decent soft tyres. since you're on a budget, i would recommend looking into KU36s or federal RS-Rs. then find a skid pan day, to learn the oversteer points and all the finer abilities to control the car, that you really can't do on the road. they usually are quite cheap and never heard anyone that hasn't enjoyed them.
  18. IMO a 180 would have been a far better buy but each to his own. just be careful with oversteer in the wet, MR2s are known for losing it easily.
  19. after reading around, most people agree pedders shocks are the same as monroe shocks. got any pics to compare the pedders coilovers to bc coilovers?
  20. don't return to stock, fix your current setup.
  21. prices are $1300, $1400, $1700 for each of the models. a big difference from $2k. ill probably be getting a set of RMs. ill do a bit more research but it looks like this is the best for a mix of street and track use for only $1400.
  22. link link this place that sells them for $75 each <3 does this stuff work on road tyres? my current set, especially the rear feels a bit too hard. not gripping anywhere near what they should be.
  23. http://www.cazmanindustries.com/ he makes super high quailty parts. cost a little bit more but are full rebuildable and wont break. send him an email and see what he says. he's highly recommended on nissansilvia.
  24. would love to know its ring time. should have put a larger rear wing, it's not like it is supposed to compete in F1. give it all the advantages it can.
