  1. In the late 80s with F1 when turbos were allowed, they were making up to 1400hp on 1.5litre engine in qualifying. Flash boost pressure readings of 5.5 bar however it is to be noted that they weren't running just petrol but with other chemicals like toluene. Thus 350hp out of 650cc isn't impossible at all. Also remember this was the late 80s, a lot has change since then. 5.2 litre rotary could easily make 2000kw however the fuel to run such a car would be insane. it wouldn't get very far. A 5.2 litre rotary is practically a 15.6 litre 4 stroke engine, add to that high boost pressures and you ll get insane power levels. Reliability and weight are a totally different matter though.
  2. That is the top fuel WORLD record 1/4 of 4.4 seconds which equals to 4.3gs however most dragsters will not be achieving such times. Back to the main point, no road car is ever going to do 0 to 100kph in under 1 second. Nor is there any point, such acceleration would provide g forces most people cant handle. Nor is the car going to do 600kph. Drag equation. (assumptions, 1.8x1.6 meter front of the car. 0.25 coefficient of drag [low], same car) Drag forces at 600kph. ((1.225 * (166.7^2))/2) * 0.25 * 2.88 = 12,254 Newtons of force required. Drag forces at 400kph. ((1.225 * (111.1^2))/2) * 0.25 * 2.88 = 5,443 Newtons of force required. So that is a 125% increase in drag forces whilst only increasing speed by 50%. I highly doubt they ll crack the 500kph barrier.
  3. what is sold, what is still for sale? you can edit the original thread and use the "strike-through" formatting to make it a bit more clear. cheers.
  4. i suggest MX5 or S13 with SR20DE. If you want something larger, maybe a Civic but the others would be a lot more enjoyable to drive.
  5. But with forced pit times we can never know how much it really helped. Long pit times only hurt petrol based vehicles, it is clear they are trying to encourage other types of vehicles. It affects the amount of fuel a vehicle has to carry, reducing its lap times. Completely changes pit stop strategy with tyre changes and repairs.
  6. It might refuel less but the rules forced a certain refueling time. This greatly benefits cars that use less fuel. If they had F1 styled pit-stop refueling, I would exact an entirely different race. 2mins 20seconds is a huge amount of time to refuel. http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011/07/18/drivers-blog-gt-gt-sandstrom-amp-milner-at-the-n-220-rburgring-24hr-pt-ii.aspx
  7. 1.15 wow. i wonder what it could do with some decent slicks. well, yeh, at those times a racing driver would make a difference however that's not to say you guys cant improve. as they say, practice makes perfect.
  8. Awesome. Ill grab some have I have the cash. Might be a little while
  9. Why run 235s at WTAC when the car run fit 255s now? or do they scrub significantly?
  10. I took 3 months. Best idea ever, barely lasted 2 months with my license back before I got another fine. Take 3 months off instead of ruining up to 12months and risking 6 months.
  11. Looking good. Always nice to see more S14s at the track and competing in time attack events. What year is the chassis? What aero work and tyres do you plan to run in the future?
  12. I cant why anyone would want to ruin a F40 like that. They are perfect in red.
  13. IMO the F40 is probably one of the few true supercars. If I could have any car, it would be no doubt the F40. I love the 458 but nothing comes close to the F40.
  14. what's the point of having the car if you don't gun it a few times per drive? Might as well drive a kia
  15. I use BP 98. They have a large number of 24hour stations in victoria and I have never had any issues with it.
  16. I need to replace my rear brake pads for my s14. Something that will stand up to some hard driving for at least 20mins. Planning to spend around $75. dust, noise and rotor wear I can live with. any ideas guys?
  17. its clearly a cheap security camera. Speed cameras are expensive setups and require both a sensor and camera unit with an inbuilt high powered flash. Speed camera setups cost around $35,000 each, they aint going to install them in places that area likely to get damaged.

But it is to some extent the fault of the "good" police that we have this problem. The fact the more honorable police do not speak out against police that try to do anything to get imports off the roads, lie or exaggerate claims that annoys me. Unless police as a whole change their attitude and image, I wont change my opinion on them as a whole. Whilst they didn't make they laws, they openly support them whenever they change.

Of course they dropped it, they had no case. Did you try and get your money back from the impound since they dropped the charges? It is unfortunate this system clearly benefits the people who can afford lawyers and can afford the fines. The average person doesn't have the time nor the money to properly contest such claims. I strongly suggest people record all interactions with police. It is illegal for them to stop you. Whilst they claim they do as well, tapes get "lost".

Victorian police have proven time and time again all they care about is revenue.
  21. with a handy little firefox extension called 'download them all', i downloaded the entire lowres directory. Now, just have to watch them all
  22. I would get an XR6 on LPG. Towing ability and cheap to run.
  23. with the dollar so strong, good time to be importing tyres.
