  1. boxer engine -1 electric power steering -1 looks good but still not that interested.
  2. I would strongly disagree about the pad noise. I have been driving with A1RMs on the front brakes with my s14 for about 10months. I drive at least 3 times per week, if not daily. I only experience braking squeal rarely when pulling up. Overall, brake squeal isn't as issue with this pad. I will conceed pad dust is a major factor but probably a lot more noticable on white rims. Cold performance is hard to tell since my tyres also have trouble in the cold, so cant really tell. though i suspect having both susceptible to the cold doesn't help. Unfortunately HPXs don't last on the track, even on the rears. I thought I could get away with them but after two days at Phillip Isand and 3 months of semi-regular daily driving, they are already gone. Will be switching back to the A1RMs when I have the time to change them. ( Still using A1RMs on the front. )
  3. I need membership before the 2nd of march. does that seem possible? sent anyways. lets hope. edit 2: is pickup possible for the membership card?
  4. security footage? that would be your best start.
  5. Winton fun days are also awesome fun and cheap. Shame they only run them 3 times per year.
  6. you can record and you don't need permission because you are in a public place. just like how the police can record you without permission. however, is it a good idea? well depends on the situation. IMO, I would only bother if I was 100% sure, the police were doing something illegal. Otherwise you will just create more problems for yourself. I can just imagine the words " follow me to the nearest EPA van"
  7. the order I put through was only a month ago. When did they tell you that?
  8. true bridgestones are expensive on tirerack as well however dunlop Z1 star spec or Advan AD08s are vastly cheaper or look into Hankook Ventus RS-3.
  9. or you just make sure your tyres cost under $1000- I paid $955 for 4 x 265 40 17 Dunlop Z1 Star Spec. However that price includes averaged shipping of 2 x 205 40 17 Advan ADO8s so the shipping was a bit cheaper.
  10. I just removed the seats and didn't do a thing. Not one cop has every said anything about it. The seats that is, they always bring up the fact its stripped. Of course I never let passengers sit in the back.
  11. awesome pics. any chance you can upload some larger resolutions? 1920x1080 would be a bit more usable
  12. Car: 1995 Nissan S14 Silvia. Budget: $2500 max. I was originally was going to buy coilovers from a German suspension brand called kw however after noticing that the height adjust-ability is not base height, I decided to look for something else. Have done a bit of reading around and Buddy Club Racing Spec seems to be giving good results for the price however finding detailed reviews on suspension is difficult. Does anyone use these? Within my budget, what suspension would you recommend for track use? I know a lot of people say get Teins but at the same time, a lot say they would never buy them. I would love Ohlins however at $3500 there's little point spending that much on suspension for my car.
  13. should have armed themselves, smashed the windows and pepper sprayed him. I can't believe they did so much crap.
  14. Isle of Man is the only other place I know that has no speed limits on rural roads. However, I would expect they are wet for most of the year due to how north it is.
  15. I suggest you check out tirerack.com before you get any of those. A little bit more work, since you have to order then, wire transfer money, then fit the tires but on the other hand, larger tyre range and lower prices. A lot of people swear by RE001s (they last). I can recommend a lot of tyres but none that last over 10,000kms
  16. It is sad that he had 6 drink driving offenses. Road laws don't need changing, the courts need fixing.
  17. Driving late nights up in the hills, I have seen countless deer however we never hit any. We always assumed the deer have been scared off by the loud exhaust noises. Saw a stag once. HUGE. Something would don't want to hit. Horns over 1meter across, probably weighed 250kgs.
  18. Fuel efficiency is the biggest failure of the rotary thus the ability to make power from fuel used. No idea how it can be solved, if at all.
  19. It is the limit WITHIN FIA regulations. Remember there are huge amounts of metals and compounds that are banned for use in engines and racing in general due to many reasons. Also adaptive engine systems have been banned for years, like adjustable intakes. Whilst there is little incentive, I would expect it to be possible to get more then the 1hp per cc. There is a limit on the fuel and overall basic design of a 4 stroke engine but don't jump to conclusions about its limits so soon. The current problem is the "green movement". Especially F1 has been moving to try and promote this green energy/green image crap which is taking money away from engine development and putting it towards useless stuff like kers. (important for society but racing should focus on mechanical engines only) If they ignored such things and removed a lot of the restrictions on engines and fuels, you could expect to see some amazing engine with even more insane power levels. Remember 24 years since turbo F1 cars. That is a long time. Even if development has been focused in other areas.
  20. and some of the best F1 racing. The lack of safety in the car wasn't due to the engines, it was due to the poor design of the underbody and chassis. Also, it was the 80s. 30 years of engine development since. I am sure they could produce even more power today with even better reliability, especially with todays computers.
