  1. Hey guys. Well, after a very long time, and much effort and much p1ss farting about and yadda yadda. It seems that the way I want to do it simply ain't possible. It will require hydroforming (high pressure steel shaping) and a lot of time, effort and money to do it. The price would go up significantly, and we would be back at square one again. I simply don't have the time to do it. Im very sorry for all who were keen on getting one, as I was also very keen on having one for my car. I guess I'll just have to call it. Maybe if I find some time and a different way of doing it, I will give it another go, but not until I have a piece in my hot little hands to work from. Again, I'm very sorry. This project was meant to be a walk up start and easy, it sure looked that way on the video, but hey. Life ain't always easy, and not being any good at any welding or fabricating, I couldn't really do it myself. Yogi33 and Halz, please PM me with your account details so I can refund your money to you. BASS OUT
  2. In the car, ready to go.

  7. Mumbo#5 I'm going to hold onto it for a week or so until I confirm things. I don't want to mislead anyone with incorrect information
  8. Cubes Yep, sure does They are 100% identical, even the clamp marks from the original machining!!
  9. Please help me forge ahead in the research of the Hybrid turbo project. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=84166
  10. Hey ppls. In doing research for the Hybrid Turbo thing that's going around at the moment, I would really like to borrow a stock R33 GTST dump pipe. Adzmax is lending me his R34 GTT dump pipe, but I need to compare it to an R33 pipe. The perfect time for me to grab it off the nice person who will lend it to me is tomorrow night's General meeting! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?? I will bring it back at the following meeting. I only need the short piece that attaches directly to the turbo, it;s only about 20 centimeters long. Thanks in advance. 11. Cubes Can you believe it? I dead set reckon, I've got two identical hybrids here in my office. What are the chances?
  12. Looks like I might just be the luckiest guy on the forums right now! TWO, that's right TWO piles of rocking horse shit Who wants one? BASS OUT
  13. Can somebody either confirm or deny this?
  14. I hope I haven't bought this turbo for no reason!

  16. whiteknight Watch this space, as it seems this turbo may well be a VG30DET after all.
  17. PS. Absolutely no Disrespect to Dennis by the way. He had the turbo confirmed as a hybrid by GCG turbos. Just my sillyness that has landed me with two hybrids!!
  18. You wouldn't bloody well believe it would you. About 6 months ago, I bought a turbo, which I thought was a stock R34 GTT turbo. I just recieved my turbo from Dennis this morning. Initially I thought, SHIT, the dude has ripped me off, and I've got a stock R34 GTT Turbo. They are identical in every way. So, I looked back through some pictures and measurements that cubes has made, and it looks a hell of a lot like I've had a VG30DET hybrid in my office for 6 months. Goddamn it! anyway, to confirm, does anybody have pics of a standard R34 GTT turbo? I thought I did, but I don't. PS. After I confirm 100% that I have two VG30DET turbos in my office, I will be selling the one that's currently advertised as a stock R34 GTT turbo. Who wants?? BASS OUT
  19. At about 1 bar, the duct can suck closed, witnessed by HPI and Abo Bob who just recently had one made becuase I was taking so damn long with this group buy. The duct warms up, sucks closed and the car slows down. not good.
  20. VG30 is super hard to find at a price that is reasonable. The turbo will bolt straight up to an R33. It would be handy to have the turbo to high flow while you are still running your existing turbo. Saves having your car off the road. Then you can sell your current turbo. Exactly what I'll be doing with my hybrid. BASS OUT
  21. I still reckon it would be handy
  22. I'm sure if you were trying to reduce wheel spin in a certain situation and had the ability to do it electronically, you would. I know I would.
  23. Stoopid damn capitalism!
  24. PS Love the white writing on your tyres by the way, very RACE!
  25. I have the PFC boost control kit and it controls boost very accurately. However, with the plan of a bigger turbo in the pipeline, I would probably have gone with the AVC-R so that I can limit boost in lower gears. And although some people will say that I can limit boost with my right foot, and I've said it myself as well, it would still be VERY handy to be able to have control over the boost characteristics of the engine. If anyone has an R34 and wants the PFC boost kit, I'll swap for an AVC-R. Cash adjustment of course.
