June - A Special Month Of Detailing Customers @fi
Bass Junky replied to DamianFi's topic in Victoria
Yes, you all know I'm a keen FI supporter. I have all my washes there, in fact I haven't had another company touch my paint since it was finished, other than me and my uber skillzzzzz Perfect service, perfect coffees. Hell, I even take clients and big big bosses there for meetings!! oh, and I've seen the results from the Royale in person, including on Ronin09s GTR...... You simply cannot imagine the finish you get from this stuff. it's amazing. BASS OUT Damian..... I'm coming by this afternoon about 3ish...... Be ready! -
Hey guys WHAT A WEEKEND! Man, Dutton is a great event, lots of fun, lots of car talk and even more smack talk. I ended up taking out 1st Rookie Co-Driver which is pretty cool. To the best of my knowledge I'm the ONLY SAU person to have one of them....... mind you it's only been around for a couple of years, so that's probably why. Jeff and I were in 8th position outright on the first day, and I think we dropped off a little to about 11th on the second, mainly because it was pissing down and we seem to have gotten some really shocking conditions on some of our runs. Day three we went to Sandown and I popped my cherry there in the pissing rain. Nothing like coming up the back straight at 200 kph in teh wet, with barely any knowledge of the circuit, but the GTR stuck firm and simply needed a gentle brake foot!!! Jeff and I ran almost identical times on many of the events which shows that we were driving the GTR to it's limits, so maybe next year we will use a better mouse trap Jeff did however beat me more times than I beat him, so I guess that means he's still faster than me..... I guess. All in all, I had a ripper weekend, and I added many more car sounds to my already impressive collection. Yes, there was drift, yes there was blazing power slides and yes, I enjoyed every second of it. Yes, there was also a breakage in teh GTR, the good old front diff had a fit and smashed itself. It had been picking up the wheels and spinning them all day in the wet and we think it just wore out eventually on a launch at Bombardier carpark. Luckily I had enough of a points lead to end up winning my Rookie by 70 points which is a fairbit I suppose. Thanks to Jeff for letting me loose in what is a pretty complete and fast car, all it needs to be even quicker is a handbrake that works and a tail that's a little more happy. But it's a Targa car after all. The purple one however, is not BASS OUT Jarrod.... Where are those photos of me in Jeff's car !!!!

My Restoration
Bass Junky replied to Godzilla32's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Hey guys, If you are looking at a company to rebuild throttle bodies, try Speed Technology in Mitchan. They manufacture a whole range of their own and can also rebuild, bore out and modify existing throttle bodies. www.efihardware.com.au Cheers Pete -
Radiator Air Deflectors, New Group Buy (no 5)
Bass Junky replied to Bass Junky's topic in Group Buys
Hi Guys, DECIM8 Running one accross the front of the car if possible, but VERY involved and highly complex to get around all of the curvre, bits stocking through etc etc. Not really a job for flat sheetmetal, more for Fibreglass or Carbon Fibre. This will go ahead, but I'm majorly under the pump at the moment. I'll plan next week as I'm in WA all this week. Bare with me guys, I wont ask for any money until I'm ready to follow this through efficiently and quickly. Cheers Pete -

Well, they are the best. Are you looking for the best job, or the cheapest? They are actually VERY well priced considering the quality of the job they do.

I have to pull out guys. Work is too busy at the moment. I'm off to NZ this morning until Friday lunchtime, then on Monday morning at 6am I fly out to WA so I simply don't have the time to spend a day up at Deca sliding around. :'( Bass Out -

I'm not 100% that the BeeR blows engines if used properly. I probably wouldn't use them on a drift car, but I would (and have) used one on a normal car. It brings you up to boost standing still, and this doesn't blow your engine. Cant. you can also set them up to be a flat shift control by adding a clutch switch to your setup, therefore cutting engine spark during gear changes, and hence REDUCING the load on your drive train. Sounds wierd, but I've driven a GTR with this sort of set up (but a MOTEC) and it works brilliantly and feels more like an auto than a manual. No let up in accel at all. It's actually quite awesome to drive.

So Jeff has finished unscathed as usual and picked up a handy 20th position outright a field of fierce competition. This year, very few of the front runners had any issues and for the most part, they stayed on the road. Position 20, 942 Beable, Jeff Beable, Nerida VIC VIC 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec N1 CM23 14 4 20:33 Congrats to Jeff and Nerida for a solid drive.

I've been speaking with Jeff daily. As per normal, he's slowly getting faster, as per normal, I think he's hovering about 20th at the moment. He told me of a tank slapping incident at about 180 kph over the top of the hill yesterday :S Balls of steel I tells ya.

Hey guys, As per last year, I'll update daily the results of our almost platinum Targa competitor. Jeff Beable, car 942, 2001 R34 GTR V-Spec N1 Normally runs in the top 10 in prologue (and the rest of the results) but this year blew a hose and had virtually no boost, hence no power, and ran 29th. No breakages, will update tomorrow arvo. BASS OUT

Sound From Front, Could Be Engine Mounts?
Bass Junky replied to Bass Junky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sif I've got time to jack up the engine! Suspension mounts/arms are all good. Checked that when the shocks when in. Hmmmm, to a mechanics with me! -
Hey ppls, I have a funny sound that my car makes when accelerating hard, or turning left and accelerating less hard. It sounds like it's coming from the front passenger side wheel arch, but I'm pretty sure that's an illusion because nothing hits in there..... It's a knocking/banging/scrapey noise, hard to pin point what it sounds like. I 'think' it might be engine mounts, cos it does it when accelerating as well as cornering and accelerating. Thoughts?
