As SK said, the turbo off the R34GTT is slightly larger than the R33 GTST. So either in standard of highflowed form you should see better results than the GTST turbo. That being said, good luck finding one! I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to source one at the moment. Any ideas?

Nice little spike in power around 6krpm

Intercooler sizes increase from R32 -> R33 / Stagea -> R34 GTT (I think the Stag one is approx same size as the R33). R32 has slightly different piping so it's not a bolt in job like the other models. But the GTT intercooler is a cheap upgrade, especially if you're not chasing huge HP (it will handle ~200kw easily). You can also get aftermarket side mounts: Trust / GReddy and ARC are two of the more common ones. Take a look for some of Wolverine's posts. He recommends that you mesh the LHS front wheel guard to promote greater air flow through the intercooler too.

Hey all, Looking to upgrade my battery, preferably with an Optima Yellow Top (stock battery doesn't really like the new stereo, plus it's a bit old anyway). At the moment looking at getting the D51R Yellow Top - it's one of the smaller ones, but I think it should have enough power for me. Anyway, I've heard that you might need to make minor modifications to make the battery fit - new terminals, battery clamp, etc. So if anyone has an Optima in their car, can you post up: a) which model B) what modifications were required to fit it? Thanks! Vijay

Hey Brett I got one, up in the mtns too if you need one. Vijay

Any particular threads around Adam that you're referring to Adam? After OCAU reopened way back when, they basically have gone with the 'no vendor verdicts allowed at all' policy. Which is a bit of a shame but I guess they are looking out for themselves. I've got no problem with something like the wreckedhead / CRD topic - as both sides had their input. What I don't like is when ppl bandy around second hand opinions from people they don't know.. eg: "I heard that XXX are crap because I read that they fked around with someone's motor" That should definitely be a no-no.

Taken from the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries website (www.autoindustries.com.au): "Oxygen content of ethanol is 34.7%. This can cause the engine to run lean although the Engine Control Unit (ECU) can generally compensate via feedback from the O2 sensor under light throttle conditions. However, hesitation or flat-spots during acceleration can occur due to this lean-out effect..." Also, it states on that same website that Nissan does not endorse ethanol-blended petrol use in their vehicles produced before 2004 due to possible drivability concerns and/or material compatibility issues. I haven't used any ethanol blends in my car yet, so I can't attest to it..

http://www.hks-tf.co.jp/info/zeror.htm Found a link to this on Fast Fours forum Can't translate fully from work, but the parts lists certainly make it look like they are bringing back a new improved version of the Zero R..

You'll be able to reach at least 180kw with the stock turbo, and if tuned right over 200kw. As for an intercooler, for that power pretty much anything larger than the stock one will provide. R34 GTT intercooler, GTR intercooler, a Hybrid intercooler, one of those cheapie <$700 kits etc etc.

That's not a terribly excessive amount. And you are able to negotiate the value somewhat with Just Cars provided you give some good reasons.

Importing from NZ
raz0r$harP.UK replied to Deanna's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I imagine you'd only choose the third option (SEVS) if you are unable to provide the ownership documents required for the Personal Imports scheme.. -
Masuya? Was there last week. Pretty good..

Hi guys, I'm looking for a busted R34 turbo to rebuild - bigger, badder and better. At the moment just seeing if anyone's got one they want to get rid of, if no responses in the next few weeks I'll probably just leave it, but if you've got one and willing to sell (Sydney preferred), I'd be interested. Approx $200-250. Vijay.

Importing from NZ
raz0r$harP.UK replied to Deanna's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Moved your post Deanna.. If your car is a 1989 or 1990 build and you purchased it BEFORE 7 February 2005 you can apply to import it under the 15 year scheme. The vehicle can be as modifed as you want provided it meets the registration requirements of the state. Read here for more info. If you've been in NZ for over 12 months and owned the car during this time, you can apply to bring it in under the personal imports scheme. You must supply proof that you owned the car for more than 12 months. See here for info. The third option is importing the vehicle under the SEVS scheme. The car has to be able to be brought to stock condition, and complied by a RAWS accredited workshop who can comply R32s. This option is stricter (eg you can't bring in a car which is damaged beyond certain specifications), and will cost slightly more. Read here for more information about importing under SEVS. As for doing the forms yourself, if you're having trouble it's a lot easier to get a 'customs agent/broker' to handle all the necessary paperwork for you. Take a look in the yellow pages and ring around to find one that will handle vehicle imports. Hope it all works out! Vijay -

Jaycar Boost and Fuel Control
raz0r$harP.UK replied to Sydneykid's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Sorry to jump in guys, but how effective is the DFA without ignition timing changes? I'm looking to use it in a tiptronic Mitsu FTO. The increased tuning points makes it more attractive to me than the SAFC, but the Greddy e-manage has an 'auto shift compensation feature' (ignition timing compensation at set shift-up and shift-down points). How I'm interpreting that is that it would only be of benefit if I use tiptronic mode and shifted at certain RPM levels. The car spends most of it's time in full auto mode anyway, so would that mean it's not really beneficial?? Cheers. -
Also with the BOV - you can get a recirculation kit for the RS. Get that and your stalling problems will go away.
