  1. January is likely to be a very busy month for me (hopefully involving moving house) so I won't vote, but may attend depending on what's decided and my availability.
  2. We had a chick where I used to work like that. We called her "distance chick" - from afar she was about a 9, long blonde hair, slim figure - but once you got up close her face ruined it all, she was more like a 4.
  3. Andrew, I'd have the tune looked at first to be sure it is an oxy sensor that's causing your fuel use issues. Although I guess in the realm of you and cars, a hundred bucks is about the cheapest thing you'll ever do!
  4. Went to school there.
  5. That is a top shot of your car Steve.
  6. andz69, really need more details on the car for a proper comparison. If his car has a genuine 250 rwkw, then it will be a war of traction. If he gets traction and it has the claimed power it will smash you in a stock 34GTR (unfortunately), but it won't be easy for him to do. If it makes the power it will be a genuine mid-low 12 second car. With an R34GTR I wouldn't have thought you'd need to prove anything though, and people who talk about their cars like this guy seems to don't always have the gear to back it up. Also, I hate haters of cars, and it sounds like this guy is a skyline hater. $60k buys you a second hand GTS - a new E series is like 80k, and previous versions were more lke 90k+ when new.
  7. A guy on ls1.com.au was telling us stories about his IS with just under 1000hp from a 2JZ. Might see if I can throw you a link or two. EDIT: here's the links http://s97.photobucket.com/albums/l233/bandtmack/ - his gallery http://video.tinypic.com/player.php?v=24m6q6c - it on the engine dyno (video)
  8. Matt, the accelerator pedal is NOT digital.
  9. Watching the guys with GTRs at the drags getting them off the line, they need big rev launches to take off fast otherwise they bog down. Your posts seem to focus a lot on street racing - beware that in SA the first offence is 2 days without your car and a court date, second offence is 3 MONTHS with no car, and on the third offence they can legally sell your vehicle.
  10. Hahaha! I like that one. Setup is the key.
  11. My recipe for a quick car on a $25k budget A nice R32 GTS-T for about $13-15k then spend the rest on: RB30DET aftermarket turbo/intercooler/piping/cold air RB25 Gearbox clutch + suspension upgrade decent tyres If you've got anything left, which depends how far you want to go with those things, then you can look at other mods/accessories. A reliable powerful car costs money, and it's pretty hard to get there on a $25k budget, unless you buy a car that's already modified, and then you run the gauntlet with reliability. Also, beware of the late model commodore and falcon - the LS1 and the XR6T are easy to get power out of for a little money, and there are a few cars here in SA with big dollar builds that can run some pretty serious numbers. All in all, have fun with your car. Keep it safe - we'd hate to hear of anything bad happening to you. chops
  12. Yep, with node I can max my download to about 90% in the first week, then seed for free for the next 3 weeks! My torrents all autorun til 300% seedage, most closed community trackers require you to give back at least as much as you take out!
  13. Skippy, sorry it's socket 939. Bummer, I should have asked/mentioned it.
  14. Correct section From Information Bulletin 3 - MODIFICATIONS TO PASSENGER CARS, CAR TYPE UTILITIES AND PANEL VANS
  15. A manual 4-door, thay're pretty hard to come by are they not? Congratulations on the new bus, quite a practical vehicle.
  16. Not if you were going to buy something in the store anyway Joel. One of the best things ever was getting the company car. I haven't looked at the price of fuel in ages - when the weekender needs fuel it just gets it. Sorry if that's rubbing things in.
  17. Skippy, I have a XP 3200+ you can have for $50 if it will get you out of a spot. Obviously no charge if it doesn't fix your issues - yes try before you buy. Comes with stock heatsink and fan, but will need new thermal paste. Let me know.
  18. Cabins aren't camping.
  19. Not surprisingly, spotted VANGE at the bay last night.
  20. I was tossing up between that one and the BenQ at the time - every review that compared them side by side told me to spend the extra fiddy and get the viewsonic, so I did. What really matters with all these things though is that YOU are happy with the performance you got for the price you paid.
  21. Very nice. I just sent the pic to a mate (named Darren too cooincidentally) who will be very envious. www.mullyskingsreds.com
  22. Thanks for the info re panels. The ones I have are different sizes and support different resolutions, so not the "exact" same panel as such. I find the chimei much more grainy even on desktop applications.
  23. I have a chimei monitor at work, and a viewsonic at home. Every time I look at the viewsonic I can see where the extra cash went.
  24. It's amazing what different people call a long drive. My wife's family live 6 hours away near Port Lincoln, and we'll drive there and back in a weekend. I'm not a huge fan of 6 hours after a full day of work though. Her father has driven to Adelaide and back in the same day a couple times!
  25. Yes, more sausage than I'd have liked, but a definite giggle-fest.
